Conte has turned this guy into one of the best CBs in the league.

Cant wait to see what he does with Zouma.

Just get him any player Conte want and he will turn them into a beast.

Remember Mourinho used to do this back in his days. Mourinho Mark I was just like that, now he's gone.

We got the new genius of the world futbol now. Conte, Klopp and Simeone are the genius of futbol right now for me.

It's gone unnoticed a bit but Cahill benefits from this system and the movement it brings so much, too. No longer does he have to carry the ball but can play a pass straight away with at least 2 options available all the time.

Zouma isn't going to get a sniff in this current system. His skill-set, particularly his passing and ability to bring the ball out from defense doesn't mesh well with this system at all. You need to have at least a modicum of ball-playing ability.

I think you need to give Zouma a chance mate.

Cahil was dog shit last season - as were a lot of players - but a new system a bit of coaching- he's looking relatively solid.

To write Zouma off when he hasn't even kicked a ball for Conte is a bit premature IMHO

I'm not writing him off, just giving an assessment based off his skill set. I'm not sure how his attributes translate to this new system. Obviously, Conte might see it differently. He knows much more than all of us put together. Also, give Cahill a chance, Muzchap. He's been really good in this new system. Who cares what happened last season at this point.

Rio Ferdinand believes that Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta have proven they lack the technical ability to play as two of Chelsea‘s back three on a regular basis after their respective performances in the win over Tottenham.

Rio Ferdinand... proving that you don't need to be particularly clever to get a job in the media and in particular BT sport. Don't think he's not got the technical ability (sure he's not the best ball playing defender but there are worse), is it not quite normal for teams in the premier league in particular to punt the ball long or lose it when they are being pressed high and being squeezed in... even crap teams have made teams like Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern etc. look like we did in the first half when trying to play out.

I think he's looked much better out on the left side of the back 3, usually you wouldn't see him being keen to go out to the channel to play against a forward/winger in a back 4 but he has to at times and isn't doing too badly imo. Hes looked 10 times the player he was last season and let's hope it continues. I think a left footed Center back arriving in January would be a massive threat to his place in the starting 11 because I think Azpi is a better defender.

Just trying to make headlines, Rio . Typical. Remember once Mou said when he retires he'll be a pundit for Chelsea because there's lack of any others (doubt that'll be true now, but still).

He hasn't been the worst, granted. But he's definitely one that's in more immediate danger of losing their place going forward. Zouma's return will put pressure but not anytime soon, Conte won't break a working formula just because Zouma's fit again. It'll take an injury in the team, and no-one's hoping for that.
