Henrique 9,133
Brilliant pedormance as a AM? Yes.Terrible as a DM. The team was vulnerable for most part of the match, and almost conceded a 4th in last minutes. The problem with him is that Mourinho wants to play him, even as a DM, but he just doesnt understand the rule yet. There always has to be a caveat, however preposterous. Term-X, The Skipper, Stingray and 4 others

We conceded 3 goals on 3 shots on target and all were on ping-ponging balls off of set pieces. How is Lampard to blame for that? Other than that, we were solid defensively and Lampard was fine defensively. I find it amusing when people can't even admit a player's quality when he has such an obviously great game. The defensive system conceded 3 goals, and Lampard was part of this. You just have to relax, and be cool. You are in this topic to praise Lampard even when he had abysmal matches. Some individuals forget the bad things after a win, and forget the bad aspects of the game when a player score a goal or give an assist. Sunderland barely had the possesion, but when they tried to scored they came really close or scored (3).So relax mate, I was not blaming Lampard alone for that 4th goal that never came, I was only pointing to the fact that a DM midfielder needs more than helping the team scoring goals or giving assists. DM is the most complex role in football. Take Mikel as an example, he can destroy, but he barely can give a pass longer than 2m. Lampard still needs to improve in some aspectsLampard is one of my favourite players and deserve respect, he is a great footballer, so you overeaction is 100% unecessary. :tophat: Kieran.

ChelseasMessiah 304
Hasn't got the legs to play at this level. We will get found out more and more often the longer he continues to play. This was not the game to give him 20 odd minutes and expect him to make an impact.

Phil Driver 503
With that posession if he was on in the first half we would have done a lot better AND he might of scored . Busy and bright when he came on . Has been the link with Hazard and co of late ,it was missing today with Rammy and Mikel having shockers. I think at that time it was really unnecessary to bring him for Mikel, Bruyne for Mata, with Hazard playing in the center would be a more effective weapon, but its weird to talk about him after this match. Not talking about just yesterday, but in general, if you want to score, especially against a weaker team that will defend deep, you don't take off your holding midfielder because he is crucial to retrieve clearances and recycle the ball. In fact, Italian managers used to put in a midfielder in for a striker when they needed a goal because the key to scoring in those situations is to keep the pressure on by keeping the ball in the opposition half. This was evident yesterday. Once Jose brought on a striker for a midfielder and took off our holding midfielder we couldn't pin them back and put pressure on them and didn't really look like scoring.
