Chelsea i believe is a better team without Lampard than with Lampard IMO. By the way I still havent forgiven him for the mistreatment he gave to AVB, to br honest AVB may have done it in the wrong way but he was right Lampard can no longer hold a place regular place in the starting 11. He saw the future, I believe his goal scoring covers a lot for some poor decisions he does in a game even poor England realised that a while ago. his poor in position he slows down the counter attack, he shoots too much. Look at Casillas the guy never got a game but he handled it like a professional and did not sabotage the Manager like Lampard did with AVB ie before Napoli game

Who cares about AVB? Why would anyone take the side of some manager we had for a few months over our best ever player anyway? It's insane to me that any Chelsea fan would give a flying fuck about AVB anymore. AVB wasn't fired because of Lampard, he was fired because were shit under him and he couldn't communicate with his players. So many complaints that are oft-repeated but wrong as well. He shoots too much for example. Guess who are most accurate shooter was last season? Yeah, that's right, Lamapard (maybe Mata without penalties actually, but Lampard would have been second regardless). You're criticizing one of our most accurate shooters for shooting too much? Does he shoot too much? Probably, but every single goal scorer shoots too much and the results from Lampard's shooting have been overall very good. And the slowing down the counter attack argument I'm getting sick of as well. Lampard is slow of foot, he's not some player who takes the ball and uses 10 seconds to look around. Look at his decisiveness against Barca in our two legs in a counter-attacking system. His amazing balls into Ramires were instrumental in us winning. He is capable of playing a quick ball and his field judgement is still generally excellent. The idea that we need some fleet-footed young midfielder to run a counter-attack system is flat out wrong. Teams like Madrid and Bayern who play more of a counter-attacking system have Alonso and Scweinsteiger in their pivots and Alonso is slow and Bastian is hardly a speedster and they do just fine. Lampard is fine for our system and he's somehow become one of our most unappreciated players (Along with Cole, Terry, and Cech I'd say-Being over 30 means that too many fans have already written your playing obituary while salivating over youtube videos of some 17 year old in the Swiss league).

casillas is satan in pope's dress. he was the one who DID do all the player mutiny in madrid. what was worse was that he leaked all the privy information about the club to the press (his gf's a reporter or something).

lamps on the other hand was much more professional then casillas.

EVERY single thread seems filled with criticism of Jose ....he picks some and gets slated ...he leaves other out and gets slated ...He signs

players and gets slated

we had a good pre season. we have 2 PL wins and an away draw at the Champions ...I despair of some on here.

7 points in 3 games, one of which was at Old Trafford, 1 goal allowed. Way way way too much panic when at this point there should be none.

Very rare on this forum to get several very good posts in a row ,easier to win the lottery :D .

Even rarer to get some sort of debate out of some posters instead of "José knows best and you don't, lol!"

A debate, on a forum?! Heaven forbid! Question José? Never! :wank2:

No I do not think we should be questioning Jose and ahould accept his correct decision to keep Lampard and see him as first choice ,world class players are rare and even at Chelsea we have only had Drogba,Terry,Cech,Lampard,Makelele and Cole who would come into that category and be up for the world class positional awards like FIFPRO.

For sure Jose is more aware than our previous managers and posters on here .

not questioning, why ?

what making him great option to playing in the pivot ?

lampard is not box to box player anymore ffs

he is not DLP

he isn't defensive midfielder too

why

i know lampard have dicipline and intelligent , his prime attribute right now i think

plus he still can offer some long range shot even not often, and his trademark run to arrive late in the box

yes, he still valueable player but absolutely not first team choice

and maybe he is one of the problem if he often choose to play in our pivot

He is ,Jose is picking him there . He has the class to play deeper ,to think his game is only about goals is to not fully appreciate the player as Jose does.

The Old Trafford selection should be answering a few questions now on what Jose sees as his best team and the fact he has started ALL three games ,all this nonsense about "Lampard should only play against teams like Hull at home" has been shown to be the rubbish it always was by Mourinho and me :D always good to be proven right .

Pure class once again ,passing was superb and was still running hard in extra time with 10 men, started all four games under Jose now and the talk of being phased out now is forgotten untill his performances start to dip ,was that Giggs I saw come on the other night for Man Utd at 40 ? Frank is in the same bracket, a fitness freak who has had no long term injuries and retains the same enthusiasm as the day he joined.

i want to ask, what mourinho wants from lampard, to still make him like main selection than other player to fill our pivot ?

player who fit to fill pivot position is just DLP, Box to Box, and Defensive Midfielder

and lampard isnt DLP i think, not anymore good enough to play as b2b midfielder

absolutely not DM too

so why he like prime choice for mourinho ??

i mean his strength is dicipline and intelligent

but i think he just usefull ONLY when he possible to often arrive on the box

beside that he just poor and average i think, also not good enough when he try to dictate and make attacking build up from deep position

what his role exactly under mourinho system ?

anyway sorry for poor english

No problem , Jose knows that Lampard has the class to play in the pivot ,a lot of people do not realise his game is more than just goals ,although they are the most important thing in football.

Lampard is a class act he can play the pivot with his eyes closed he can pass ,tackle ,run and he is tactically aware and most important he is a winner, players like him are very rare ,he is a fitness freak and he is a very clever footballer ,like Giggs at Utd (who plays today at the age of 40).

Those managers and whoever was picking the team recently were wrong and Jose is right ,that is why he is special and he knows how good Lampard is .

You do know who wanted Lampard if he was leaving Chelsea last season? -- Alex Ferguson to play in the Scholes role for Utd. Jose was never going to let that happen.

You do realize 90% of United fans are calling for Giggs to retire before he does damage to his legend status?
