CurlyHairLikeLuiz 1,625
The Frank Lampard documentary on Sky is excellent. Great interview. Still love the guy, can't help it. Yeah. Explicitly confirmed too that CFC is his club love...Personally I think people should give him some slack. darrus 422
I honestly believe that he did not think it would damage his Chelsea reputation. Each to their own opinion, though.Liked for the second sentence. But disagree with first. If he thought it's ok to move to title rival he could have just announced it outright - and I'm sure there would've been less resentment than now. It's lyng and piling one cover story upon the other that makes the whole story so ugly. At least as I see it. stroey, Madmax and CurlyHairLikeLuiz
Popular Post! Viper22 2,418 Posted May 26, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted May 26, 2015 He's still a legend and he always will be, for what he's done for the club. With time the painful memories of the terrible decision he made this season (don't think anyone can deny it was a pretty poor decision, he pretty much achieved nothing but get a bit more cash in his bank) will heal, and in 10 years time or so like some people have said his time as City will be just a footnote in a sparkling career, dominated by Chelsea. What some people seem to be incapable of understanding though is that he lied about not going to another PL club because he wouldn't do that to Chelsea. He said it was just a loan to City to keep his fitness up, it turned out to be a full contract. He said he'd go to NYCFC in January for the start of their season, he extended his stay until the end of the season. Now even forgetting the fact that he actively went out of his way to stop this club winning the title (he'd have to, as a professional once signing for a rival) it is an indisputable fact that he lied to the fans of this club that he professed his love for numerous times. Now it's all down to opinion from here on in. If you're ok with the lying and the moving to a rival then more power to you, it's your prerogative how you feel. But it beggars belief that people act embarrassed and angry when fans who have so much emotional investment in this club are offended by his lies and what he did.I personally am pretty conflicted inside, he was one of my favourite ever players and was definitely one of Chelsea's best ever players. I still love him and always will for what he did for the club. But I don't appreciate what he did as lying to fans of a club you profess to love just doesn't sit right with me. In time i'll likely mostly forgive him because nothing tangible came from it but he still tried means i'll never forget it and there will always be a slight tarnish on my image of him.Btw, I don't agree with berating him for reliving past glories, even though it does reek of him trying too hard to get back into Chelsea fan's good books, i'd say let it lie now. darrus, zolayes, stroey and 2 others

He did give an honorary mention to Zola too but he only played with him at the end of his career. Also made a comment about the dressing room saying Ivanovic's arse being so big and solid you could balance your pint on it! Popular Post! LDN Blue 7,903 Posted May 30, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted May 30, 2015 Look the only reason people are changing their tunes back to "We love Lampard" is because he didn't amount to much at City. They've basically had a dire season and it further exemplified why Lampard shouldn't have made this choice. Key word being in bold there. It's a shame because he could've either signed a contract and enjoyed leaving with a Premier League title or gone straight to the MLS without any questions of his reputation. Popular Post! Madmax 9,219 Posted May 31, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted May 31, 2015 "Consequences"Yes, "consequences" like not getting the welcome others like Drogba got when he turned up at the Bridge with City. Got treated as any other opposition player during the game, followed by applause at the end. Compare and contrast with the famous singing from our travelling support at City, when the extent and design of his lies were not known. Popular Post! stroey 2,525 Posted May 31, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted May 31, 2015 Yes it matters. He might be one of the best CFC players ever, but definitely not the favorite CFC player/hero for some anymore. On a scale of 100, maybe 10% kept the same feeling for him, 50% still see him as a Chelsea legend and 40% dislike him. We don't know the exact numbers but one thing is for sure, without this stupid decision, not 0.01% of the CFC fans would dislike him. For me personally, he was my top 2 player with DD prior this move, I had his pic on my avatar on every sports forum. Now he's just an ex Chelsea player I don't like. I will always remember him in sky blue. Amblève., zolayes, Viper22 and 5 others
