vergil_sparda 26
One of biggest mistakes we made was not bringing Cabaye in january. Yes, we bought Matic, but could easily gone after Cabaye too as he was available. Add not bringing Cavani in summer...Great player, in prime, experienced, top FK/corner specialist, hard worker, creative, big friend with Eden. Now, I dont see any realy good CM being available; Gundogan is injured, Kroos wont go and he isnt realy suited for us, Vidal wont leave Juve, Pogba will cost 60mio, Strootman is injured,...Koke/Witsel/Rakitic/Kovacic/Pjanic are also very good options imo kellzfresh

Mufassir08 2,400
thats weird. why would they lower his release clause? It is a common practice in Spain.Rakitic in the summer will just have a year left on his contract so as time passes Seville will have less leverage and no team will pay the 40m release clause. If he signs the new contract then Seville make sure that he does not leave on a cut price deal in the future and Rakitic also knows that he can move whenever he wants because of the lowered release clause(20m pounds is pretty reasonable for a player of his quality).Win-win for both parties. Better than letting the Spurs or Liverpool get him. Would Mouinho play him as a striker, we already have Schurrle? I'm still sure we need to scoop up Mateo Kovacic, he's not the finished product yet but to have him playing behind hazard would be something to watch. He did really well against the Spurs last year so they're watching for sure and apparently Liverpool are interested with an 8m bid. I like diamonds in the rough and this one has tremendous potential. iseah100 5,612
Dont forget Bale was left winger too, but he converted himself in RW pretty well. Think Reus is intelligent and skillful enough to turn into RW. Not to forget, he already was playing RW several times and constantly changes wings in bvb.If not Reus then Vela, Di Maria, Lucas,...Imo Vela despite Arsenal history would be realy good bet, he can score, assist, dribble, and looks he got mature in spain. What Mou should look besides striker, cm and lb is AM who can score goals. Not Lucas. Vela is a beast, I've seen him a ton and he is the real deal. Surprised there's not more rumors about him moving. He can also play CF. But I WANT COSTA!!!! But I WANT COSTA!!!!Why not both Costa and Vela With all the possible sales including Luiz and Lukaku who might leave, we will have more than enough money to get four players in summer (LB, CM, ST and possibly AM)
BlueLyon 9,359
Im curious what would you prefer more; Luis Suarez (lets just pretend we splash 80mio) and average CM/LB or quality striker, quality CM and quality LB (but none of them world class)?I think we seriously lack a world class player, prefer striker position.----Anyway back to reality, there are several people here praising Kovacic. Havent watched him much (maybe game or two last year) is he realy that good? I mean, he probably has potential, but we need starter and could he be the man we need right next to Matic? Is he hard worker? Because I read Mazzari doesnt play him because he wants more reliable (more working and better at defending) midfielders in his team... The Skipper 20,609
Martinez is one of most complete midfielder in the world, he is a Schweni type all round midfielder. It seem like people think Matic=Martinez, Martinez is very good going forward, a better passer and creator. This is not going to happen anyway, there are no rumors of Martinez leaving Bayern or anything like that. But he is a great fit and a Mou type player. Matic is also a very complete player but he's a number 6, just like Javi Martinez is. They are very similar players, but I think Javi has a bit more going on for him defensively while Matic has more finesse about him. He's definitely no Schweinsteiger, not in that mold at all. I wouldn't sign him to play next to Matic because they're both too similar to each other, both number 6s. Signing him would be very bad because we already have Matic. SoBlues 4
What we need to do this summer window is buy a future world class LB in Shaw, a feisty CF in Costa and probably a great CM in Kroos , who's future is still undecided. BTW we need to get rid of all these loaned players that are of no value to us(Davila,Lalkovic,McEachran,Kakuta).
