Non-Chelsea Transfer Pub

I think its clear that we have already established ourselves as a big club and who we buy will certainly not affect our status. The fact that not many clubs are not interested in our players can be a good thing but its also shows that we really haven't developed young players which would make other clubs interested in them for their own future.I am not suggesting that we should change to a seller club but its highly important to know that the attributes of a player doesn't solely depend upon the transfer value.

Its time we buy players such as Holliet and others who have already adjusted to the league and who are capable of succeeding at this club.Granted, expensive targets such as Hulk,Cavani etc are some great talents but then again so are the not well known ones

Developing our players like Josh,Piazon,Danny etc to world class players will be a better choice than buying high class players directly, who may not always succeed at this club as we have a different football style altogether.

It's not status that I am worried about, it's level of play.

If you want to buy player for their potential and develop them, you need to wait a couple years for them to get their potential because most of them will not be at starter level for team like chelsea. The problem is that nobody know what is their potential, you need to play them regularly for them to be better. We will be in the mid table while waiting for them to become good (hopefully they will become good).

Take your example, will josh, piazon, danny become world class player ? Nobody know.

The problem is the need for success. When Drogba was away, Torres wasnt scoring, Lukaku who is a proven goal scorer wasn't even given a start or two. Yes he played in a league not as well known as the Prem, but the jump from Anderlecht to Chelsea isnt really that big. He is a massive player, throw him in the box and let Mata cross for him or even try 4-4-2 with him and Sturridge upfront. I would rather we tried this for a year than sign Hulk for 85 mill and then have him Tevez or Robinho us when things dont work out.

One of the Manchester papers claiming Citeh are willing to pay 20 million to get Danny back! Yes please Mr shiek

Difficult one this because Sturridge in the first half of this season was one of our best players, and arguably our 'go-to' guy when in need of a goal. He is still young (22 I think), homegrown, and with all the talk of the need for us to rebuild a younger side on the face of things it doesn't sound sense to be considering selling a 22yo who is very much part of the first team squad now.

However I have noticed a change in Danny's attitude since the turn of the year, seemingly for the worst. With goals drying up for him, rather than like Torres who has played for the team and still created goals, Sturridge has become more selfish than ever which has clearly disgruntled fans. His constant talk of wanting to play centrally worries me aswell. IMO he is more effective out wide where he can use his pace and trickery, and also receive much more time on the ball.

What also must be considered is that he only has one year left on his contract after this season. If he doesn't sign by the middle of the summer then we could have a problem.

I would actually like to keep him personally because I think he will only get better. However if his contract is not sorted out, and City are desperate to buy him then I would be quite happy to get somewhere in the region of £20m for a player in the last year of his contract. Or perhaps £10m + Adam Johnson?!

If he doesn't sign a new contract swap him for Money + AJ

What's all this fuss about Adam Johnson, he's not that great of a winger...and besides, it'd be better for Chelsea to perhaps use the likes of Kakuta, Kevin De Bruyne on the wings next season.

Sturridge's future is at CF, not RW. He should definitely be given a chance at CF, when Drogba leaves for his final payday.

We should just convert Torres into a RW, he's definitely got the energy, workrate...and considering he plays for the team, he just needs to learn how to cross the ball.

Torres will never be turned into a RW...Plus AJ is more of a winger than Sturridge. Plus I said IF Sturridge doesn't sign a new contract.
