A season is very long and have one center forward conditions us a lot.

I am sure, without doubt, that we will sign a center forward this summer. Diego is physically very fragile and he can not play 100% of matches.

We play two games per week. Having two center forward would give us the possibility to create a great competition between each playing one game a week.

And it would not be the first time that happens in football ...

Two guys in their primes like Costa and Robert is unlikely.

United play 2 forwards, but Falcao is declining as is RVP. Rooney has the ability to play in the midfield and they even sold their academy product in welback.

City also played 2 cfs but Negredo eventually got shipped out and their is constant rumors of Dzeko leaving. Not to mention, Jovetic rarely plays.

Different reports in Spain speak of the interest of Real Madrid and Atletico de Madrid in Robert Lewandowski. There are very unreliable reports, but they are two completely different reports and both give the same information: Robert Lewandowski is angry with Guardiola and wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer.

I think Robert Lewandowski could be a good signing. For me he is one of the few pure 9 that are on the market. And it could offer something different from Diego Costa.

Some friend of the forum from Germany or someone who knows Bundesliga can confirm that there are problems between Guardiola and Robert Lewandowski? Thanks in advance.

If there is any chance of signing him maybe he would be a good opportunity to try.

Regards.

Lewandowski took a pay cut and went to Munich and will continue winning trophies there. No way he will leave Munich.

At bayern, every position outside of GK has competition. Kroos left cause he couldn't handle it. Gomez left cause he couldn't handle it.

Oh I have no doubt in my mind we will sign another CF I just highly doubt it will be one of the premier CF's the world has to offer. I can see another Remy signing, the kind where the player hasn't proven himself at a high level or at a big club but has done enough get a chance. I would love Benteke or Austin personally.

I think it would be interesting to sign another center forward who can play in small spaces.

Diego is spectacular with spaces but reduces its performance when playing games with very tight defenses. So was saying the name of Lewa.

Perhaps it is true that having two TOP center forward is unlikely, but you have to look around the market and see what are the different possibilities ...

Lewa is one of the best center forward in the world with few spaces. That's why I mentioned him. While I understand that it is unlikely to sign Lewa because we already have Diego.

I thought Kroos left because he wanted a new challenge and Real Madrid also gave him higher wages..

Took a paycut? I thought he was on like 9m a year. Previously 1.5 and 4.5 during the last year of contract.

Pretty sure salary was one of the motivators to his departure. Apparentely, BVB refused to make a non german its highest earner.

When he signed annex to his deal with Dortmund he became the highest earning player there.

Robert Lewandowski agreed lower annual salary than Real proposed him literally in the last week before he signed his pre-contract with Bayern, however he took a very hefty signing fee from Bayern. His agent is also MP in Poland, therefore he has to reveal his earnings to public and he netted something like over 3 millions € from this transfer, then you can guess how much a player earned himself (a lot).

His transfer wouldn't be cheap at all. He's highest earning player in Bayern (alongside Lahm, Neuer and Robben I think), his wages would be a problem, his fee would be a problem. But he would be a very, very good because he has elite hold-up play and he links with others brilliantly, something we lack from Diego.

The part about not being highest paid at bvb was from an interview of him before the payrise.

I thought Oscar meant he took a paycut from the dortmund salary which made no sense. Thanks for the infos.

I love the player but we're not in need of a striker and he's not a realistic target.

As mentioned, his salary went up, but he could of went elsewhere on a bigger pay scale was my point.

kroos left because he became replaceable under Pep.

Toby Alderweireld appears to be on the move this summer - http://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/2365421/southampton-defender-toby-alderweireld-hints-at-tottenham-move

IF we can't get someone like Varane in (doubt we can), would he be a good option..?

As a starter? I would say no. He's a ball-playing defender. Strong on the ball but not a great defender, not better than Terry and Cahill (Zouma with his potential). But then again, he's still on the young side. He didn't impress at Atletico at all though. Think he's more a Vertonghen level defender.

It would be nice if Southampton manage to keep him.

Southampton and now Tottenham. There must be a reason why Simeone doesn't trust him and no big team is interested in his signature. Europa League level.

True but then again, I don't quite recall other big clubs being interested in Ivanovic and Azpi, for instance, when we got them and look at how that turned out.

He's already 26 though and right now, I would say he's better than Vertonghen. The latter has been ridiculously bad.

Mehh.. Vertonghen suffers from the (a little too) occasional brainfart, but he's not that bad at all. I think you're being very harsh. He takes risks, he's pro active. It will backfire at times, but he does a lot of good as well. He's a Spurs player, that's his level.

Alderweireld has done well this season, but Fonte is the defender that actually impresses me at Southampton. Very good defender.

Don't think I'm being harsh at all. He tends to be quite slack when marking players and not to mention, him getting brushed aside so easily in challenges. For instance, look back at the goal Remy scored against Spurs last December or even David Nugent last weekend.

I hear what you're saying, and yes marking is a pretty big weakness in his game. But we see some terrible defending in Chelsea colours as well, the same goes for City, Arsenal etc.

Let's just say I rate him a bit higher than you do.
