francozola 2,040
What happened after he signed a 2 yr deal in 2009?Drogba will try to do his best if he feels wanted...However, as age catches up with him, and his energy levels fall, he will need more support. Right now that support is Sturridge and more importantly Mata..The little man and the big man seem to combine very well...I knew back in Jan this year, that what the team really needed was a good support player for Drogba/Anelka rather than a new CF...I hope Torres continues to try hard with the limited chances he's going to get though,..I know what you mean, and I definitely think Drogba should be playing instead of Torres. I've been saying that since his Wolves performance and was even more convinced after Newcastle. What I meant was, he is going to be 34. It's obvious he doesn't have the legs to play like this every match. So I feel like he'll want to conserve his energy and only "play when it matters" which he has done in the past. An uninterested Drogba is not a good thing to have. Also, do we really want to give him a 2 year deal? He's 33!!! I don't mind if we give him a two year deal if the 2nd year is on a pay-as-you-play deal or something like that.
didierforever 7,349
from the 3rd minute of the match i just cant stop singing "DIDIER DROGBA LA-LA-LA-LA-LA... DIDIER DROGBA LA-LA-LA-LA-LA"...

coolhead23 1,147
Finally can say Well played Chelsea. Great performances by the entire team. Thx AVB for dropping the high defense line and moving back to the traditional one, we muscled them out. Drogba was at his best, great game from him. But have to keep mention Mata here, he has been one of our better investments in the recent years. I wish and hope that we carry on this momentum. A job well done! Was just thinking we took right under the nose of Arsenal, they must have been cursing themselves
francozola 2,040
Another two assists for Mata. He must be on, like, 15 assists already or something.I think the new deal won't be discussed anytime soon to be honest, let alone the terms and conditions...The manager and (Drogba himself) will have to wait and see if he can perform consistently from here on out...I agree he will change his playing style to expend minimum energy, like in the Newcastle and Wolves games, but that doesn't make him less motivated or less committed to the cause IMO...okay, agreed (for now). His effort and work-ethic in the last few weeks has been impressive. Even before half-time yesterday you could see that he was knackered and was struggling. But he still tried in the 2nd half. He doesn't have the energy to run around chasing defenders like mad or track back any more, but he still does a decent job of pressing when the ball is near him. Hope he can continue this good run of form going into the Christmas period. He'll be going for the ACN, won't he?

CHOULO19 24,332
Great to see the site back up. But not as good as seeing that team performance yesterday. Drogba was a beast. Mata and Sturridge were great on the wings (though the latter needs to learn to f*cking pass the ball!). Luiz had his best performance in a blue shirt imo, and big Pete was class. ChelseaChick 430
At the end of the game the first thing I said was 'Oh my god, Luiz didn't get booked' I was actually proud of him, its progress haha! Excellent game, very happy!

petr.breu 1,618
It was SO great match yesterday. We showed our team spirit and were better during the whole match.Čech was excellent, saved maybe 4 goals. Our defence was quality, specially Terry was fantastic...I don´t know what to say about Romeu, he´s is outstanding, Ramires is our Forrest Gump, he can still running and running and Meireles was really great too... At this moment is this our best midfielders... Sorry for Lamps, but yesterday he showed, how great he is, when he celebrated our goals with huge smile...In Mata and Sturridge we have treasure, Danny is little bit more selfish, but great forwards needs to be...And Drogba... F*cking legendGreat satisfaction for team and specially for André... Now we´ll beat City and great times are back... :cfc:
GodZola 630
Was going to this game just to 'give it some' to get behind our boys - I really hope our crowd can act as our 12th man tonight & really make it uncomfortable for them. I believe its imperative for us to get infront as we are a side playing with a lack of confidence, getting ahead will give us the belief, our crowd will get behind us & Valencia will be forced to come out leaving gaping holes for Sturridge & Mata to exploit.Should of won in Valencia comfortably so I am reasonably confident that we will win this with Sturridge playing another pivotal role.Argh well may as well blow me own trumpet!& AVB, you can't kid a kidder?! Everything about last night was very Mourinho'Esk, he states that the last thing to go would be his footballing philosophies yet we playedo very defensively & hit them on the counter so he used Mourinho's tactic as in saying one thing & doing something totally different on the pitch, the team was also set up & played like our team of 04 to 07.Oh before someone has a pop I applaud AVB for employing these tactics he has realized that sometimes you have to change your thoughts on how you want to see football played to get a result, Wenger biggest mistake & 6 trophyless seasons later backs that up! BlueLion. 21,491
That was like watching the old Chelsea again... Terry dominant, Cech fantastic and Drogba just ass-raping defenders with skill, speed and strength. Jizz-worthy, tbh.

Corazón De León 58
Brilliant!!!! Absolutely brilliant!!!!!!!! I'm so proud of our blues, they done it for AVB!!! I felt sad when Lamps wasn't in the team and worried too because it was such an important game but I guess AVB knew it was for the best! Romeu is just fantastic!! I just hope Barca haven't noticed.... Ffs of course they have! :/Drogba - Legend! If its true that its his last season, well hes making the most out of it! When we were winning 3-0 I think it'd be good to let Torres and Drogba play together for the rest of the match. So now that we qualified, I'm hoping Luka Modrich is still thinking about Chelsea...
