TacticalBlues 2,817
Mike Phelan needs to sort himself out and that awful beard he's grown. Seem's like he's going for a "Harrison Ford from the Fugitive" look, but he just can't.
Ollie 4,400
To be honest he was playing like a 45 year old last season.

eldo 868
Do you disagree with what he's said about tempo? In our first three games so far it's been the usual slow build-up with very little dynamism where it takes about 20 minutes to get once decent chance. If you look at the top teams in Europe (Real, Barca, Utd etc) they all play with great energy and speed.Mata and Danny weren't playing then. lionsden 4,689
Ain't that the truth. At this point in time, the reality is that we have one of the oldest squad in the pl and the problem is compounded by the fact that most of our key players (Lampard, Drogba,JT, Torres and Ashley Cole) have lost the sharpness and title winning form due to host of factors and age is one of them. Our play so far has lacked rhythm, precision, pace and penetration which creates an aura of predictability. . . . a sharp contrast to that of biggest rivals, United and City.We have been able to get away with it due to the quality of opponents so far and we will find it exceedingly difficult to savage a single point against stronger opponents.Champions don't struggle to beat teams of WBA and Norwich at home, they absolutely annihilate them. so far we just haven't shown anything to convince the bookies and critics that we are a major threat to City and United for the title. Ollie 4,400
They were lucky to beat them at all in the 3 games they've played against them. We did annihilate WBA last season and where did that get us?
Sheva. 5,373
Writing a team off after 3 games? And the fact is we still have possibly 4 players to come directly into the starting line-up. [Luiz, Sturridge, Mata and Meireles].It has no doubt been an under-whelming start to the season , but i would expect the injection of these players to surely improve the team. TacticalBlues 2,817
I know we can't include Kakuta, Davilla and Piazon in atm but we can't forget we have some gems. I'd say our youths have more potential to become world-class than theirs too. Young, Valencia, Anderson all good players but you couldn't foresee them entering the Ronaldo, Messi, Xavi Iniesta, Ozil bracket of players. Some of our players truly can. They bolster a good prospect as a defence for the future but Chalobah, Bertrand, Luiz, Aanholt, Bruma? Ours could be just as good if not better. Take a walk, prick.
