We are completely covered in terms of numbers in the doulbe pivots. Yes, there is a lack of world class quality there but really, was Meireles really even that good apart from a few good performances?

Players who can play in the Pivots:

Romeu, Ramires, Mikel, Lampard, Oscar, Luiz, Essien (recalled), Josh (recalled).

That's 8 players. Of course not all of those are perfectly suited to play there but they are there if we need them for a few games or so.

This is the condition of a loan. Any loaned player can be recalled by paying a fee.

Meireles is better than all of them in his position (Romeu+Ramires+Oscar dont play there at all, so why mentioning them? josh? come on. essien just went on loan, wtf.

I cant belive im saying that but my hope for the Double Pivotttt is Ryan Bertrand and David Luiz.

You are completely and utterly overrating Meireles. A player, until some recent decent performances, we have criticised heavily.

And Ramires the one that can play anywhere depending on the needs.

Let's not forget Malouda, and recently Bertrand that can also play in the mid.

So for me, no reason of concern.

Funny how a player can go from a player that people slated when he was on the team sheet, with many calling for AVB to go because he kept playing him, to our best midfielder who we are lost without. Seriously people he isn't that good and we have got enough cover.

as i`ve said before the season started. i believe that 4-3-3 is the formation that we will end up playing more often than 4-2-3-1.

our squad was more suited to play that formation earlier and it`s even more so now.

why are some folks so stuck on us playing the double pivot ?

in american football they have certain coaches that only play certain systems and players who can`t fit into that are got rid of.

but English/Global football is not like that..good coaches adapt their tactics and formation to what the team strengths are.

Watch that 4-1 defeat again, anyone who says Mikel is doing fine really needs to get there eyes testing or there just in denial. It's like saying Torres has scored a lot of goals for us which pays back our 50 million.

We have serious problems in the midfield, and it's a shame we are letting Meireles go.

were playing 4-3-3 hence why the whole game you saw bertrand wide about 5 times half the game spent behind ashley cole making the runs forward

I'm horrible at determining the shape/formation of a team with what I see on the field. I rely on what the team sheet says. However that appears very defensive to have Bertrand play that way.
