We have Eto'o here for 1 year for a reason. Most important thing for Lukaku is his development and progression as a player.

People look at MoTD see his goals and think he's Drogba/George Weah MK2 when in reality he's still incredibly raw. His first touch is frustratingly inconsistent, he needs to learn how to play with his back to goal and his link up play still needs work

A loan where they play the ball on the ground and the strikers are required to get involved in the build up play will do wonders for his game and he'll return as a much better player next season. Last season WBA were a counter attacking team that just hoofed the ball to him and prayed, primitive tactics that hardly helped his all round game.

Just hope we have an option of recalling him in January in case he does even better than expected and Torres/Ba and Sammy flop.

Mourinho wouldn't send him out on loan if he didn't think Eto'o could still do the business. I hope so anyway can't be too sure with him anymore after the Willian/Schurrle signings and the Mata ostracism.

I don't think anyone cares about the penalty. We can't get rid of Torres though so he stays. Also, we don't need to develop him so the only purpose of going on loan would be to get his wages off the books. I'd actually rather loan out Lukaku and see him develop his game more than see him get 6 starts with us. It looks like it will be Eto'o, Torres, and Ba and Lukaku will get more playing time elsewhere.

But Lukaku is so much better than Torres or Ba so him going on loan while the other two clowns get to stay is beyond ridiculous.

Best solution:

Eto'o main striker

Lukaku clear second choice with lots of games

Torres stays and sulks on the bench if he's not successfully off-loaded

Ba loaned out, should be easily done

Torres staying has hurt the club enough already so using his astronomical wages as an excuse for putting him ahead of yet another great young striker and clearly unsettling him by not giving him a fair chance is simply not worth it.
