lionsden 4,689
I just want to see improvement to be honest, even if we do finish 4th, i'm sick of the lack of good football, we havent played good football in ages and i would like to see something nice from the team, cause i'm getting quite sick of us struggling every match and having to pull our fingers out from conceding and having to get back into the game all the time. This happens in almost every game... i think that would be far better than a trophy, but then again... if we did play good football i doubt we would be finishing 4th.AVB stated in his post match interview yesterday that we displayed a good 90 mins performance against Norwich. That indicates he's somewhat happy with the quality of football we displayed in our last match. I won't hold my breathe.

Gianfranco_Z 202
I still think we will win the league. We haven't got out of gear 2 yet. When we start to find our system properly when all is moulded nicely we'll be fine
Kojo 4,676
true ..in a thread last week ..we discussed development ,,, almost all wanted change of style and progress in terms of age ..I will happily take short term pain in return for long term gain ..BUT City arent going to go away and we will have to accept that .They are here to stay and we would be foolish just to rubbish Mancini. It could be a battle of the billionaires, but we don't seem to want to take part in it. neel 257
Respecting the opponents is good thing but it is more important to have faith on ourselves. I am extremely happy on how thing are running here. It is not important how would we do in 2011-12 but I am looking for our bright future throughout this decade and thereafter. I am not hesitant to say that with our new transfer policy we are heading in a right direction. Although in the first three matches some concerns can be raised but 3 games prove nothing. And to be very honest last 20 mins of the last game sparked lots of optimism within me. So to make a long story short I am really not interested to predict our position what interest me are the playing and team building philosophy.Cheers !! Believe me,the guy has standards of his own and he will try to get the team playing to those.

Even half of the season may not be sufficient let alone 3 matches.:goodpost:What we need to start realising is things wont change overnight. Scolari treid to change too much too quickly and fell flat on his face and there has been progress i cba to go into detail again because ive done it a millions times. In 09/10 we started the season playing goodish football then by the end of it we played some of the best football the premierleague and certainly we have ever seen, we started last season in the same matter, we got complacent and the football gradully declined to the dross we were witnessing in December, we did not go from one extreme to the other straight away and we wont go back up to 09/10 end of season standard football overnight either. Laylabelle 9,534
Its depressing yes,can see a Manc team winning the title at the minute... but its 3 games in.A lot can change very quickly and very easily, injuries etc so just wait and see...Man U in the past have started shite and got better...could be opposite this time never know early days!Be bloody happy we're not playing like Arsenal!! BlueLion. 21,491
lets just give up .... let the Mancs share out everything ... let the Scum take 3rd place ,,,and go away and cry ....was going to say like girlsbut most girls have more balls than some of the fans on here ,,, FFS we are Chelsea .....I won't give up just yet ,,,, the knee jerk reactions on here is so fucking patheticI agree.I can't believe our own fans are throwing the towel in.City and United played teams in turmoil today, they'll get sterner tests from us and Liverpool. Guest justin_3d
hahaha i just find it funny that i tend to be the most negative person in this forum, but even then i don't give up like a lot of people have been doing after watching City and United.Yeah i might joke with Barcelona as being the best and to give them all the trophies, but the thing is, this is unpredictable.Momentum tends to change; one bad call can go against you or your way and make up all the difference.Last year we looked unstoppable. A lot of people where talking about Chelsea having an invincible season like Arsenal years ago.Just last season Arsenal where gunning for the treble, and by March everything started to fall apart.Just last season Chelsea looked like finishing outside of top 4, and by March the momentum change. As negative i am, i can't deny the fact that anything can change. And because of that you should not rule Chelsea out. Chelsea has been there, won it and has the experience to do it all over again!
Term-X 7,891
3 games into the season / thread void.or maybe he just wanted to avoid a backpage spread saying he is slating his own team, which at the same time will be over-exagirated by the rags and make the players wary of him.Indeed.AVB and most managers for that matter, give politician style answers for the post-match interviews. Only headless chickens like Harry Redknapp will expose themselves publicly.

francozola 2,040
Some people need to calm down, this is getting ridiculous. I'd rather have a struggling start and figure out our problems as we go along -- the disappointing Stoke & WBA displays probably convinced the club & AVB that we simply had to get Mata & Modric in.Things will get better imo. Yes, the Manchester clubs are looking strong but honestly, Spurs & Arsenal are absolutely dire right now and would probably have gotten beaten by Norwich.OT but can we please stop with the AVB-bashing because he doesn't play youngsters. Give it some time, will you? Can you imagine if he had played 3/4 youngsters on Saturday and we had gotten beat? Jeez, let him settle down first and if 6 months from now he still hasn't given Mceachran, Bertrand, etc playing time then have a go at him
BlueLion. 21,491
This time last season we were thrashing better teams than that Arsenal side yesterday into submission and United were grounding out lucky, scrappy victories. Just saying.
