Some people need to calm down, this is getting ridiculous. I'd rather have a struggling start and figure out our problems as we go along -- the disappointing Stoke & WBA displays probably convinced the club & AVB that we simply had to get Mata & Modric in.

Things will get better imo. Yes, the Manchester clubs are looking strong but honestly, Spurs & Arsenal are absolutely dire right now and would probably have gotten beaten by Norwich.

OT but can we please stop with the AVB-bashing because he doesn't play youngsters. Give it some time, will you? Can you imagine if he had played 3/4 youngsters on Saturday and we had gotten beat? Jeez, let him settle down first and if 6 months from now he still hasn't given Mceachran, Bertrand, etc playing time then have a go at him

This time last season we were thrashing better teams than that Arsenal side yesterday into submission and United were grounding out lucky, scrappy victories. Just saying.

Is it not unreasonable to think that AVB and the boys will get tactically better with almost every passing week? As long as attitudes don't get in the way, Blues should be a lot better by December. The Manchester teams are very good, but they'll hit a snag at some point. As far as Liverpool, I think they have a decent shot at the top five, but a ceiling is definitely there.

Let's do ourselves a favor here. No real hard pessimism until the club actually drops three points.
