What's your obsession with Mata wearing No 10 lol

It may have implications to a certain 31 year old's future at the club.

Besides.. It's only logical to hand a first team player a first team number. Either way, it all adds to the 'fanfare' of a new signing.

lol!!! She's 17 and loves football. She's played since she was 6 and she usually "educates" me during games. Her love of the game started with two events:

1. Spent a year in Spain for work and we were "exposed" to Spanish football. Atletico Madrid was easier to access than RM and that's where we fell in love with Torres and football.

2. "Bend it Like Beckham" the movie. She is still a fan of Becks to this day. He may be slow as dirt but his dead ball delivery and crosses are still pin point accurate.

You actually got to see him at the Calderon? What season was this? So jealous....

Mata could get 13 till Yossi goes then change to 10 it think, i remember when Lucas Neil signed for West Ham he got number 34 then 2 weeks later the player (cant remember who) with number 2 left and they gave that number to Neil.

We went to about a dozen matches during the 2003 season and it was a fantastic experience. We didn't know much Spanish (I still don't) and we knew even less football. We wanted to experience Spain's culture and kind of fell into tickets for a game. An older gentleman who'd been following Atleti FOREVER would point and gesture during the matches to my daughter. She was like a sponge learning football and Spanish. He loved Atleti and Torres and hated Real Madrid. Our last game we gave him a new Torres home shirt as a small thank you gift. He was a true gentleman and proved that football is universal. To this day I still don't understand how more Americans don't get it and love it.

Were you in the dressing room? ...... thought not.

He waltzed into this club, took a first team number and sang that song. Particular Chelsea fans just have to flip everything as a positive.

Kalou is a diabolical footballer, zero development in 5 years / Kalou has a great attitude, trying his best for 5 years.

How do you know that, were you in the dressing room? Moron.

Anyway, back to Mata, absolutely delighted to see him join the club, this is a very big statement of intent for the coming season.

He shouldn't be leaving before Kalou or Malouda.

Yeah exactly! Benayoun had done more for Chelsea at the most able time he played before his long-term injury than Kalou in 4 years!

I don't get why TX has to keep slating him all the time... because he wears number 10, and he ruined Kakuta's development... big deal!! Kakuta has been out on loan at Fulham, and getting vital Premier League experience... okay, not a lot, but a little goes a long way!

As for Benayoun! You saw how decent he was in the Asia Cup! He is seriously, partly the reason why Torres has showed his true self nowadays!
