Wasn't in the game at all today but as we were ultra defensive he was never gonna be really. He is too small tho, does need to bulk up a bit or a lot... had a very poor game today tho.

Don't think he had a poor game. It's just the entire game plan of sitting back & hitting Barca with a quick direct counter attacking approach doesn't suit him. Not sure if he should start at the Camp Nou next week either.

Mata now has 12 goals and 18 assists in all competitions this season, which is more than David Silva - 8 goals & 17 assists.

Amazing stats & to think that Silva got a head start this season, because Mata missed the first two weeks of the season. Still there are many people, including people on this board that think Silva is better than Mata. IMHO Mata is better on set pieces & he is still a young lad. He will develop his game even more. What Robbie D needs to do, is to employ Mr. Gianfranco Zola as a Creative Midfield coach & assist Mata to take his game to a Super Saiyan level. I am sure Mr. Abramovich will approve this transaction, cause he did try to get Zola back to the club when he left. All of CFC would approve of this move ;) This move will help Marin & Kakuta as well.

So, Is Mata better than Silva? Silva started the season off like a firework but dissapeared soon after. Mata has been more consistent, started out very well and finishing the season very well. It's too close to call :P

I find Mata more complete then Silva. He can pull of an amazing cross, his positioning is top notch and his FKs are special. I think Silva is on a higher level now though as he has gotten used to PL and is bit older then Juan.

Actually, I expected a lot more of Mata next season when we bring more dangerous players that will take the pressure away from him. Not only that, but Juan needs some rest and he is improving his game a lot by each passing match.

dint any1 get the feeling that mata of all people seemed left out (along with torres).

I think Mata is naturally a quiet guy unlike the African lads or even JT/Lamps. Torres as well tbh in the interview with Didier (?) you could see him just sitting in the background fiddling around with his phone I think while the others were celebrating
