Granted that's not a lot of competitive matches, but you also have to take into consideration all the friendly matches before the Euros and also before the Olympics so in reality it's a lot more than that. And wouldn't you agree that even though he didn't play too much, spending the whole summer with the Spanish national team and training hard every day is a lot more stressful than simply sitting on a beach somewhere and just relaxing? Clearly he was exhausted even before all that so who knows how tired he must be now... I guess it's a good thing we have Oscar now because he should more than capable of replacing Mata if he needs rest and then we can just take someone like Marin from the bench to play where Oscar would normally be playing (assuming he will be a starter).

Mata's Olympics was basically his pre-season. If he's feeling fit enough to go then why should we stop him?

mata should, should have a blast with this new team. last year, he tried numerously to link up with players and even though he got 26 assists (all comps) this year i expect a lot more assists where even if he doesnt get the main assist he should get the hockey assist. in the CS, you could see that Hazard was caught off-guard and not used to mata's movements for they always ended up on the same side of the picth and same line. bt with practice time it will definately get better. also have to add in oscar so it may take a little bit more time to finally see the end product but when we do, it WILL be amazing. the ideas all three could come up with would be almost like what man city have with the argentine duo, only on a greater scale and give our strikers easier goal scoring opprotunities.
