We don't ask him.... We pay him. It's his job. I genuinely believe he has the quality and attitude to survive and thrive.

I understand that, but also we have to think of the bigger picture aswell, if he say shows his inexperience in a CL semi final at the Allianz Arena and has a stinker with the world watching, he could suffer mentally with that at such a young age.

The mental side is often underestimated in football, look at Scott Carson, was one of the best upcoming young keepers, thrown in for England's do or die Euro qualifayer thinking he was ready, single handedly lost us the match (and qualifaction for Euro 08) and is now a championship goalkeeper than not PL club will touch with a bargepole.

That match alone turned his form around, before that match he was the inform keeper in the league, after that he was a wreck that Villa and Liverpool couldn't wait to get shot off.

Spot on,and people can say what they like about Eto'o but the guy has been in 3 CL final's won three and scored in two. His experience will be priceless if we get far regardless of the fact he is not as good as he use to be.Terry isn't as good as he use to be, but we can't say we aren't benefiting from his know how.

Clarence Seedorf had tons of experience... Should we replace Ramires with him?

Or is what a player does now more important than what they did?

Eto'o's not in his 40's. He is still a decent player who has done ok with us so far,not amazing but not as bad as some suggest, ask Styles about the Eto'o situation,he explains it better than i do.

You're right... players need experience so they don't lose their heads in semi finals, get sent off and let the team down.

With that in mind where would you like us to loan John Terry to?

Lukaku is remarkably mature and grounded. I don't think he'll have any problem with the mental side of representing this club.

Eto'o looks like a 32 year old striker who has spent a couple of years in the Russian league.

The brain is still sharp but his body looks a little behind right now.

It's a lot different because Terry has already "made it", if that happened when he was in his early 20's/late teens then it might have ended a bit different.

I am sure he is going to be a great player for us and it's easy to say throw him/Chala and the rest in because they will be great in the future, but Arsenal use to have that philosophy of "this team will be great in x years time" and were still waiting for it to bear fruit 8 years on.

John Terry made it after a dodgy start but we stuck by him and he grew. We seem reluctant to do that with Lukaku in the belief he won't struggle when he becomes a first team player for us.... He probably will however old he is.

In theory no, but in theory McEachran was our solution to our creativity problems in 10/11. Is it fair to ask a young lad from going to rotating with Shane Long at West Brom to having our expectation's in two of the biggest club competition's in the world on his shoulders?

We don't ask him.... We pay him. It's his job. I genuinely believe he has the quality and attitude to survive and thrive.

Pretty delusional to think that McEachran would have won us the CL and FA Cup as well in place of Frank Lampard or Juan Mata, no?!

I can understand your point but at the same time, i don't believe we actually planned on loaning him, it was only when a top 6 club managed by a gaffer with a good youth track record came in,Jose changed his mind.

Either way, it's been fun debating with you but i have to shoot out as im out on the piss, have a good day :)

Not talking about Josh. He's shown nothing as a professional as of yet and I don't think he'd have the mental strength to succeed being thrown in at the deep end.

The same question could be asked about Lukaku re mental strength. Very different to perform at a pressure free club than a club expected to win every match, you know.

He's being supplied by the likes of Barkley, Mirallas, Deulofeu, McCarthy etc. all very decent players, stop being so dramatic.

It's not the proving of his goal scoring ability that he's going out on loan to Everton for. Everyone knows Lukaku scores goals, no one is disputing that, he's a naturally born goal scorer, everyone knows that. It's his general play that Lukaku has to improve, he needs to become a more complete striker, and you can't do that by getting minutes here and there at CFC, so retrospectively the Everton loan move is brilliant for his (and ours) future.
