Even when Werner went on a goal drought or struggled to score goals, he helped compensate by providing assists along the way at the very least. Lukaku's assist count this season still stands at ZERO and we're in bloody February! If he's not scoring (tap ins), he's contributing nothing and this is a 100 million player!

This isn't about Werner but more about the movement factor. You like to shit on the argument but you seem to ignore the fact that movement helps to disorganize defences, thus leading to opportunities being created. Right now, we literally have a statue upfront in Lukaku who doesn't move about and becomes super easy for opposing teams to pick up and defend against.

End of the day, the excuses or whatever, none of the pair of them are the right fit or more importantly and accurately, good enough for a team that wants to be fighting for the big trophies every season.

The Timo movement argument for me, I dont get why you persist with it. I mean okay yes movement is all well and good in the final third but its still gonna be pointless without a proper stream of goals/if the guy flukes the easiest looking chance in the world etc etc. Be it Timo or Romelu or someone else scoring them. Goals is something we are lacking from the forward players and something we also lacked last season. Even the at least he’s getting assists argument, would this argument of been valid for a Torres or a Falcao? Or a Morata? Or well anybody else… I severely doubt it because they are/were goalscorers and thats what we expected with Timo.

He does work hard though, which granted for a player who has been through 2 huge barren runs, missed so many easy chances and can’t get in the team really, is encouraging but barring that, just don’t think he cuts it on a footballing level.

Yet, one played his part in the Champions League winning run last season. Go figure...

If anything, I don't get why you seem to persist with writing essay length post on your hate for Werner. 🙃

If you read the post properly, I had said it's less about Werner and more about the movement quality needed upfront. The lack of fluidity upfront becomes painfully obvious when we play Lukaku upfront because he doesn't offer any sort of movement to keep opponents guessing and disrupt their defensive shape. It might seem like a minor thing but if Tuchel wants to play this possession style game, then the players has gotta offer movement, mobility to create spaces for others, to link up the play better etc.

Romelu Lukaku's cryptic Snapchat post hints at even more problems at Chelsea

Romelu Lukaku has posted a cryptic message on his Snapchat which could cast further doubt over his Chelsea future with the Belgian recently discussing a potential return to Inter Milan

Romelu Lukaku has posted a cryptic message on social media just weeks after apologising to Chelsea and their fans for an interview he gave in Italy.

The Belgian returned to Stamford Bridge in the summer for a club-record fee but admitted to frustrations with his selection whilst also opening the door to an Inter Milan return.

He was left out by boss Thomas Tuchel and said sorry in an interview, clarifying his comments in the process.

Lukaku's goal output has not been what many expected with Chelsea's title charge also faltering.

Tuchel has chopped and changed between systems but has by no means centred any tactics around getting the best from his summer signing.

Lukaku posted on Snapchat on Friday with the message: "If you have to force it then it probably doesn't fit".

Whilst not clearly alluding to anything in particular, the post will do little to build confidence around the striker's long-term future in west London.

Lukaku told Sky Italia back in December: “I think the boss has decided to play a different formation but I have to stick at it and get on with it professionally.”

Before also adding: “Now it's the right time to share my feelings. I have always said that I have Inter in my heart: I know I will return to Inter, I really hope so.

“I really hope from bottom of my heart to return to Inter not at the end of my career, but when I'm still at top level to win more together".

The interview saw Lukaku left out of Chelsea's crucial clash with Liverpool which took place in early January.

The Blues came from behind to draw 2-2 at Stamford Bridge and just days later the Belgian came out and explained his comments, underlining his commitment to the west London side.

"To the fans, I'm sorry for the upset that I caused," he said in an interview with the club website.

"You guys know the connection that I have with this club since my teenage years, so I totally understand you guys being upset.

"Obviously, it's up to me now to restore your trust and I'll do my best to show commitment every day on the training ground and in the games, trying to make sure that we win games.

"And also to the manager, I apologise, and also to my team-mates and the board, because I think it was not the right moment also and I want to move forward from this and make sure that we start winning football games and that I perform for the team in the best manner."

As did Mount and Havertz who you have also continuously been critical of for the past 6-12 months or so…..

Fluidity in attack doesn’t just come/not come from one player though. I mean even look at us under Conte, Pedro and Hazard were able to come inside and interchange because the wingbacks keeping the width allowed them the room to do so. They were very often coming inside, interchanging and drifting into half spaces. Costa didn’t necessarily have to go out and run the channels or drift really wide because he would be a reference/focal point to play little combinations with etc around the box.

I mean I get Lukaku doesn't fit us and we have looked disjointed in attack this season and pressing from the front with him particularly but even with him not in the team the attacks hardly been ‘fluid’ this season for prolonged periods, has it?

Well, think many would disagree with this.

Dislike this guy just as much but it has to be said that we had a bit more offensive thrust with him than with werner. He usually does nothing with the ball himself but he keeps 2-3 defenders occupied every time and this allows spaces. I hope a miracle happens and we somehow get rid of him in summer but until then we should build on this tournament and use his strengths.

If by attacking thrust, you mean holding the ball up (something he doesn't even do well most of the time, despite his physique etc) and pinning the defenders back, then sure.
