Completely agree but that starting striker thingy is a bit too early imo , first see how things goes with him and our midfield .

I agree on this. It will be crucial. Lukaku seems to me quite the confidence player. Superb when it is up, irritated and technically under par when it is down. His interview in Humo, a respected belgian magazine, illustrated this. He himself admitted he had these issues in Chelsea AND in the belgian NT (apparently Kompany and Wilmots - accompagnied by the rest of the locker room - got on his case for sulking/venting when not playing. He admitted this in the article)

That said, he is 19, impatient and bloody ambitious. So building his confidence and having him getting enough playtime might prove to be crucial .... If we do it right: bingo! If we do it the wrong way: ouch ;-)

Try to see things without Torres for a second . I know Lukaku has great potential and all but he's not ready to play everygame , especially the important ones . If we seriously need to get going and act like the Champions League Winners ! Well , Why don't we just buy Suarez ? I know he's a cunt but he'll bang goals without ay help of the midfield . He's one man army and he's the kinda player what we desperately need now.

And WE HAVE LOTS OF MONEY . HEIL ROMAN!!!

But a risk worth taking imo.

AVB did use him, gave him his debut very early on in his Chelsea career, came off the bench against Arsenal and United and started against Fulham and Liverpool in the Carling Cup. I also like RDM and think he shouldn't have been sacked of course, but under RDM Lukaku was not a part of any matchday squad, even in the FA Cup for games like Leicester, until the last game of the season when everything was set in stone for the league.

did I not see Lukaku start in the match in Anfield after the FA Cup or was that my imagination?
