Madmax 9,219
It's fashionable to abuse shit players who would struggle in the Championship. You actually condone name-calling and abusing a Chelsea player. No point in further discussion then.

I condone name-calling and abusing Chelsea players who have no right being Chelsea players.
TomCFC 357
Torres is almost certainly ruled out after being taken out of the Spain-Italy match after fifteen minutes due to concussion. Drogba, meanwhile, scored his 50th Ivory Coast goal.

EskWeston 696
A few injuries picked up now will make the team selection a little easier for AVB. Still should be able to put a team out more than capable of beating Stoke. Looking forward to the season finally kicking off....
Ollie 4,400
You realise Kalou is a Chelsea player? Why the hate?Simple answer = Because he's shit.Every team has players their fans dislike so don't think we're the only ones. For someone who gets in good positions, has lots of pace and decent skill / ability with a football, he should do a lot better than he does. He might do ok at home against Wolves or Sunderland or some shit team that we're already beating 4-0 but put him in a big game in a big away stadium when there's huge pressure, he's nowhere to be seen. Awful fucking member of our squad, the sooner we get rid, the better. We're at the stage now where we need world class players to occupy every position. Is Kalou world class? Absolutely not. He might score the odd goal but what else does he do? He should be skinning defenders, whipping in crosses, scoring goals.... He's been here since 2006 i think and what has he given us? What has he added to the team? Only a bit of a 'Super Sub' role which means he's not good enough to start games. Useless championship level footballer, end of story. Tomo 21,751
Why not go against conventional wisdom of fighting the physicality of Stoke with more brute strength? I'd rather pace, movement and creativity to counter their physical play. Why not play Yossi, Josh and Torres and work Stoke to death chasing the ball?At the Bridge i would say yes but its a bit risky to do it up there, how many times have Arsenal tried that game at The Brit and came back red faced? Tomo 21,751
Agree, like Cech said no one knows what it will be.Agree, like Cech said no one knows what it will be.Makes a change from Carlo, as any-one knows i was as much behind Carlo as any Chelsea fan but his habit of naming the team 2 days before the game had me screaming at the tele. lionsden 4,689
I'm not a believer of addressing physicality with physicality. If that was the case then teams like Blackburn would have a good/decent record against them instead it's the less physical but highly skillful sides, notably Man Utd and Spurs that have enjoyed great and consistent success against Stoke in recent years. even Manchester city's beastly squad have only managed a victory ONCE in their last 4 premiership encounter. chrismada9 1,948
There's little chance of the game being called off, but I can see us losing with the players we have injured.No-one has beaten us on the opening day of a season since Coventry City back in 1998! Hoping we can maintain that record! It only happens once every year!
Ollie 4,400
I remember that, Cov beat us on 2 opening days in a row, bastards. Still we never beat them there did we? Remember the game where we drew 2-2 and Flo scored both times about a minute after they scored. Good times! We usually do very well on the opening day but we usually get a nice sunny home game to start against relative wank. Stoke away is slightly different but a good test. Jusek 2,031
So pumped for this one. It's not going to be an easy match, Stoke is always a tough home team. Hopefully Torres is ready to play, or will he miss the match due to concussion?
chrismada9 1,948
Stoke have a very tough set of centrebacks! Our old boy Huth, Shawcross, Woodgate, and now Upson! They'll be no pushovers this weekend, especially when they're at home!By the way Jusek... I must ask off topic, are those pictures of Lukaku in your avatar real pictures of him?!
