7 million, tops.

cant see him going for more than 10mil. but we should keep him. a good squad player.

Valencia are about to be taken over by a new owner in the near future. Latest rumours are suggesting the new owner will be either the rich Singaporean dude who bought the rights for Benfica's Rodrigo and Andre Gomes to himself for €45m a few days ago or some rich Qatari investment group. This change in ownership would clear Valencia of their €300m debt and also provide them with enough funds to finish the construction works of their Nou Mestalla stadium so it's reasonable to assume they would be getting a lot of money for transfers as well. Getting Romeu on a permanent deal should be pretty high up on their list and if Oriol continues to impress, his value is almost guaranteed to be at it's all-time high so I can honestly see the fee being over the €15m mark.

However, from what I've been hearing lately he's improved his game massively and in addition to being an excellent player defensively he is now constantly starting attacks from deep and is covering more and more area on the pitch so we could have some use for him as well, maybe as a replacement for Mikel. Only has a year and a half left on his contract though, so another loan is definitely out of the question and any decision will have to be made this summer.

"I have no idea [what will happen in the summer]. I need to decide at the end of the season. Many things can happen," Romeu told Sportsmail.

"We will sit down and decide what is best for me to do. They are watching me and they are always telling me things. They are looking after me and that's good.

"You never know what can happen, but they are looking after me."

Any one know what's going on with this guy?

Now that DL has left and if Lampard is really leaving, i think we should include him in the squad as Matics back up...

He used to be amazing for us as a DM...

He used to be very promising, but I don't think he was anywhere near amazing.

His loan at Valecia didn't go as planned, although that had more to do with the bad season Valencia had than himself. The change of manager there really hurt him because it came just after he established himself as a starter and he was never really in the team after that.

Anyway, I don't think he's particularly a player that suites our current system. I can't see Jose trusting him in the pivot if I'm honest.

Have to confess I'm not a fan.

He's got good technique, but he's also so very slow... No urgency in his game just like Mikel. Romeo has better range of passing than him though. Regardless, we can't really employ a DM week in and week out as our system really needs two rounded players in the center. Reckon Matic is as defensive as it's going to get, and I'd not call him a DM, but more of a deep lying/ball winning mid.

Although not as slow as Mikel, Matic isn't the paciest of mids, so we need someone with some pace next to him. Ramires has the pace, but not the technique. OK maybe not pace, but mobility.

He is a decent squad option but he's just too injury prone. He'll probably get sold to a Spanish side this summer. Without the injury problems he could be a good player/option

probably a loan. just one year left on his contract. dont think clubs would want to waste millions when they can get him for fee next season.

And for that very reason I'm having a really hard time figuring out why Chelsea would agree to loan him out for a year and then let him go for free when there's still some money to be made from selling him this summer. Surely there's some club out there willing to pay a few million to tie him up on a permanent deal this year.

infact that was my reason for clubs not to buy him. their wont be many clubs fighting it out for an injury prone, 1 year left on his contract, "decent" player. we will "try" to sell him off but doubt that would happen. probably he will end up on loan just to get his wages off our books.
