Go to the Barca forum and they are still convinced Oriol will be a Barca player. Some have even gone and claimed its actually secretly a mind trick to tell them they won't re-sign him now, but later.

It's silly because the guy came and said the same stuff AVB has said, that it's not a buy back but first refusal, which Chelsea has to agree.

He was praised when he was playing great, and obviously will be criticized when he isn't.

Why do you think he's been on the bench recently?

Just want to know, because my opinion is that - if he played well (against say Wolves and Sunderland) there's no way he would have been benched in the first place.

That is unfair Mikel has given good performances on a regular occasion, but criticized unfairly to no end because he differs from your typical dm. He is the ultimate scapegoat for fans.

I have said Romeu performances were never that good in the first place, his performances has been overestimated by most.

I feel like I missed an important chapter of a story. Where exactly is Romeu? I saw pics of the team training and Romeu seemed to be in one of the pics. So I assume that he was fit enough to travel to Italy and train? Yet he wasn't on the bench. Granted he was poor when he cam on against Man Utd, though at that stage of the game all of our players were poor, but he is clearly a very talented defensively midfielder who knows how to do a shielding job and also is quite good on the ball. I just don't understand why he has been completely erased from the first team setup.

A reason why it pisses me off,

Busquets, known for his diving and his play antics, but his football is truly remarkable. He vastly underrated by the light of Xavi, Iniesta, and Messi, Without Busquets, Barcelona don't create transition very well. Romeu has similar qualities but has a physical nature to his play, which i believe he will someday reach a level beyond Busquets given enough playing time.

Oriol hasn't been that bad these past month, certainly not on the level Meireles has been the past month or Lampard has for most of the season.

The only problem is because his fantastic first few games he was getting hyped up as superman so he was only ever going to disappoint after that.

Busquets is not underrated, i have considered him the best DM in the world for a while now. And only EPL fans in general underrate him because they rate DM based on how hard one tackle.

You show lack of knowledge if you consider Romeu anything like Busquets, they are nothing a like. Busquets biggest strengths are his positioning and movement off the ball. Romeu is nowhere close in these areas.

Fact is Romeu would never get significant time in midfield at Barca, he would most likely be competing as a CB. If Barca ever buys him back, it will most likely be at that area.

Not saying he is never going to be good enough, just saying he is seriously overrated atm. Your post proves my point.
