RoyalBlues 4,050
Anyone know how is he doing at Stuttgart? Heard that Stuttgart want to sign him permanently. I swear his contract extension last summer is one of the weirdest thing happened.

Jase 43,479
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-forgotten-man-oriol-romeu-5464800Oriol Romeu, 23, is craving stability and either wants to return to Stamford Bridge for good in the summer or be allowed to leave permanently.Oriol Romeu is ready to quit Chelsea for good in the summer. The Spanish midfielder, currently on loan at Stuttgart, has made just 15 league starts since arriving from Barcelona in 2011 and fears he is not part of Jose Mourinho’s plans.Romeu said: “In June I’ll speak with Chelsea to know their intentions.“After two seasons on loan, the ideal would be settling into a club to get some stability. Every player needs continuity.”A £5million signing by Andres Villas-Boas, Romeu also spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Valencia. He signed a new Chelsea contract last summer. Viper22 2,418
Don't know how good he is now as haven't seen a Stuttgart game this year, can someone let me know?Hopefully we can either sell him for a decent sum or return him to the club and have him as a rotation player in our squad. Remember liking him from what i've seen of him in the past and he may well have the potential to be a good backup player for Matic.
MrBlueGuy 1,552
Another career we ruined with our policy. I know it is for the good of the club but for some players like Romeu it is clear that it isn't helping them. Well at least he should have earned enough to be well off for life and free to make a move to a mid table club now.Remember when this guy was the next best thing for us before AVB was sacked... killer1257
LondonsFinest 692
Was good, not great, considering we got him for 2.5 and can make another profit from him, I'm okay with it.
supporter 3,088
To me Oriol Romeu has to be sold to a Spanish team this summer. In Spain he has good poster and some teams would be willing to pay 10/15 million euros (7.30 / 11 million pounds). There are many players better than him in midfield for our market. Koke, Pogba, Andre Gomes ...To me teams like Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Valencia would be very interested in Romeo. Or the Stuttgart itself. A transfer is the best option.Regards to ALL. Not our fault he got injured all the time.
CHOULO19 24,332
Really does not fit the general profile of the current team, I really doubt we'll recall him. Could probably get some decent profit on him, though.

CurlyHairLikeLuiz 1,625
Dies anybody know the future of this lad? He signed a new contract so Jose must believe in him...PFF I suppose they can't all make it.
CHOULO19 24,332
Injuries completely killed his career. Sadly, he's now a significantly worse player than he was three years ago.I think the contract was only signed so he does not leave for free. Don't even think Jose remembers him! CurlyHairLikeLuiz 1,625
That's a big shame. Essien style knee injury was it not?
jmarlow 458
he got his injury at the worst time possible also, just before the CWC where he was just going to get a long run in the team
RoyalBlues 4,050
With RLC, Ramires looks like will be in our squad next season and even I'm not sure about Mikel. No chance for Romeu to make it here. I'm not sure why we give him an extension actually. And the most surprising thing is that he signed it knowing this most likely will happened, lol. Duppy Conqueror 1,533
it was worth taking a gamble on him for the price. I thought we were really gonna regret Dalla Bona leaving but he didn`t amount to much in the end and he showed a lot more than Romeu did before the injuries derailed Oriols career with us. Romeu is basically Paul Hughes with a more exotic name. we have more talented young midfielders waiting for a good chance imo.

Or did we cling on and overrate him a bit because our team was bang average at the time? the wes
