Marko Marin

I liked what I saw from Marko, even though he managed to make a couple of bad decisions with his passing. He's not afraid to challenge opponents in one-on-one situations, something which I would have expected Hazard to try more often having watched him at Lille. I know Marin can be a really frustrating player to watch if he's out of form because he still keeps on trying to do something special and then he loses the ball over and over again, but I suppose that in matches like yesterday it's better to at least try doing anything to settle the match in our favour and maybe fail doing it rather than not even trying to break through the opponent's defense and fail with a 100% certainty, no?

I think people saying 'Im not impressed' need to remember its his first appearance pretty much in competitive football for us (No I do not count Wolves, sorry!) and I was impressed with what he done and tried to do, its just something new and I'm looking forward to seeing more as to be quite honest I've seen enough of 'Mazacar', Ergh,

OK i pretty much missed the first half... How did he do?

He was our only attacking threat in the first half. Some of his touches were a bit 'rusty' but it's excusable given that he's had next to no football for the past 4 months. Only thing I could fault him for is not tracking back enough. Other than that he looked a real danger on the attack.

Seems that Marin has become the forgotten man at the club already...

Chelsea midfielder Marko Marin claims he is not targeting a return to Bundesliga and told kicker that, although a January loan move is possible, he wants to stay at the club.

Marin, 23, has failed to seal a place in the Blues’ first-team since arriving for around €8 million in the summer and the German press has linked him with a return to his first club Borussia Moenchengladbach.

However, the former German international scotched talks of a move back to the Bundesliga and told kicker: “I have not held any talks. Returning to Bundesliga is not an issue - currently.”

Marin could yet still choose to leave Stamford Bridge on loan during the winter transfer period, but asserted his desire to stay and fight for his place.

“If I have the feeling, I’d get more games somewhere else and continue my development, a loan deal could be thinkable. On condition of Chelsea wanting that,” he added.

“I have not thought about leaving in the winter. I am of the opinion I am in good hands here. Therefore I will fully concentrate on Chelsea. And I believe the club would not just let me leave.

“It seems to be the case that it is my call [to leave or not]. I’d have to make the first step. Currently I am not thinking about that. I have signed for five years. To question everything after five months, and three months of injury, makes no sense.”

Really do feel sorry for him. Has recovered from his injury but yet to be given much chance to play. Hopefully, he'll get more of those in 2013.
