I think you're all being very loyal to Andre, but Souness makes some very fair and valid points. No-one can say he will hit the ground running like Ancelotti or Mourinho.

Why not?

Isn't AVB better then Carlo?

If so then he should def hit the ground running.

But i will cut him so slack if he uses more youth, something our predecessors have not used much.

By what criteria? Opinion?

Give Ancelotti his due, his accomplishments so far are better than AVB's. Let's compare in 10-15 years. But give Ancelotti some credit.

According to a lot of people that wanted Carlo out and AVB in....

Usually I agree with souness, he makes great points and is never bias towards clubs like other ex Liverpool players like that absolute cunt John Aldridge. But don't agree with him on this :/

Agree with you 100% on Aldridge. I see or hear his name I tune it out.

Sadly someone at one of our national Sunday papers decided he'd be a great journalist and gave him a column. In said column all he ever does is slag off Chelsea and Torres and then claims how great Suarez is and that Carroll will be this and that and just typical scouse bollocks, I've tried to convince my father to stop buying that rag but my pleas are falling on deaf ears :/ might have to write to them and rip them apart over it :D

Aldridge is like a bitter woman who got dumped for the newer trophy wife.

I'm not wasting another post on that pr*ck... until he bashes Chelsea and/or Torres again and goes on about how unfaithful Torres was. Back to AVB.

I have no answer how successful AVB will or won't be. I want to be supportive and positive because God knows the media is more than ready for anything Chelsea related to fail. The team does seem to have a more positive energy about it than last season but it's early yet and everybody feels positive at the beginning. AVB seems to be driven to succeed and willing to give the players a kick in the butt if needed (I hope!). Fingers crossed that AVB and CFC have a good season. I'm cautiously optimistic (and believe me I'm not the pollyanna type).

is he as bad as alan hansen?

I forgot all about Hansen. I have to give the prick edge to Aldridge. What is it with the English media and former LFC players everywhere? Thank God for Pat and Ray but they're shouted down by the red brigade.

GRAEME SOUNESS: VILLAS-BOAS SPELL TO END IN TEARS

LEGENDARY hard man Graeme Souness believes Andre Villas-Boas’s spell at Chelsea could end in tears.

The Scot, who never backed out of a tackle played for the best and managed eight clubs worldwide.

So his opinion carries clout when he says Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich made a major mistake in replacing Carlo Ancelotti with Villas-Boas, 33.

The Blues forked out a staggering £15million in compensation to make AVB their new manager after he led Porto to four trophies last season.

But Souness says he will struggle to control Chelsea’s stars because he is too young and has never played the game himself.

“I just didn’t see the sense of getting rid of Carlo Ancelotti,” said former Liverpool, Rangers and Newcastle manager Souness.

He was a good manager, tried and tested at the highest level. The new manager and his backroom team are relatively inexperienced.

“Being successful in Portugal with Porto isn’t the biggest of deals. They are more or less guaranteed success.

“And Villas-Boas has never played the game. I worry for Chelsea.”

Ok....Does Mourinho ring a bell Mr. Souness? Does Arrigo Sacchi Ring a bell?

Arrigo sacchi once said, "You dont have to be a horse to be a good Jockey"

Both of those have been stellar managers which Souness could never be. But he was a good player...I will give that to him.

Jamie Carragher once said "It was Graeme Souness who knocked them off their perch"...OUCH!!!

He then went to Benefica, Portuguese league, where AVB won everything for Porto setting records in the process. Poor Souness was fired from there too.....

I like Souness Post Match analysis on Champions League games, but i would prefer he shut his trap when it comes to commenting on Managers, something he failed miserably at.
