Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas

  • Calling for an evolution and not revolution.
  • Trying to force his style of high line with a team not build for such a style.
  • Mismanagement of some great servants like Anelka and Alex.
  • Lack of youth integration into the team.
  • Continued support for Torres.
  • Arrogant towards the help of others.
  • And stating he needs no support from his team but only the owners.

Clearly AVB is guilty as he stands, but The Big Kahuna, Roman, will have the final verdict.

Will he forgive AVB for his sins? Or cast him out of his kingdom?

The only "sin" or whatever for me is the first two, the rest are not that big of a deal.

  • Calling for an evolution and not revolution. Agree with this about AVB he should have signed way more players than he did. However, I'm not sure how much power his has on our transfers. what disappointed me about avb/chelsea was thinking Mata and Raul alone would be enough for this year.
  • Trying to force his style of high line with a team not build for such a style.not necessarily, our team didn't score much last year and his solution to that was a high line. We played well with it to in preseaon and in our first 2-3 games. There was really no way of knowing our team isn't built for a high line. Barca - I know, another barca comparision- play the high line greatly and their defenders are not faster than ours.
  • Mismanagement of some great servants like Anelka and Alex.. Maybe he was trying to prove a point. i.e player power is done at Cheslea
  • Lack of youth integration into the team.He tried to integrate youth but: no real youth with real talents to break into first team. he also played Romeu alot this year, and Danny but what other choice he got?
  • Continued support for Torres.I'm among those that say try danny in the middle but I've recently came to the conclusion that our CF won't score much cause our service is poor.
  • Arrogant towards the help of others. Interesting point
  • And stating he needs no support from his team but only the owners.I think he mean't players that don't support his "project"

For transfer I remember one of the board members (I think it was Gourlay) stating that they had to discuss transfer target with AVB when he came back from tour on Asia.

So while he was "assessing" his squad, there was no movement for nobody. And no movement continue till the second game of the PL....pathetic really!

Lack of youth integration was his major sin, and saying he is only concerned about what players think, is not a good way to build a team, right?

Youth integration is tougher to do when you need to get results, almost any manager would opt for the experienced players - Carlo did the same.

And let's not forget he only played McEachran because we basically had no other options.

I don't think you need to get results, when the owner backs you "unconditionally"

I think it was a mistake for AVB to use the word unconditional. He seemed to think for a bit and then go for what's best for him, even though it might not be true.

That can only go on for so long if you don't start getting some good results.

Agreed, but his mandate was to change the team. Take out the dead wood, and bring a "youthful flair" into our game.

7 months in and I am still waiting to see that "flair" of youth into our team. Cause we sure haven't improve in style...

I dislike the fact that even when we have a major lack of creativity in midfield he's ignored Josh.

Well he also send out Yossi on loan.

I still remember to be dumb fucked at that idea.

And now it seems that AVB has got a new Lampard. Meireles, that seems to play every game full 90 mins, just like Lampard used to do....sigh

And loaned out Benayoun. Looking at how things are now, the more puzzling that decision seems. We thought we made room for a new signing, but it seems that signing ended up being Meireles.

Everything about AVB is hopeless. He hasn't got a plan B, his man management skills are woeful and his media handling skills are even worse.

But he hasn't done any sin; he just made a whole lot of rookie mistakes. At least some of them are. Other mistakes are what even experienced managers (e.g. Carlo) can make.

The biggest sin anyone's committed regarding our current crisis was to sack one of the greatest managers in the world and bring in a newbie to replace him, thinking he'd do any better.

Thats a good point, I dont see how Benayoun could do worse than Meireles.

Thats why many people here are behind him, because they are obsessed about Manchester, and want Chelsea to become a blue Manchester.

SAF is an unique case, and we will never have a SAF, and no club in the world will have one, including MU when he retires.

That isn't a fact. And yeah, I wouldn't mind us being a blue MU, look at the success they've had. It's not an obsession it's a blueprint for success. And you're right, we will never have a SAF if we decide to change our managers like we change our underwear at the first sign of trouble.

doesn't make his points any less valid

I took the time out to listen to this. If we had an idealistic football world and could wait the 10 years that the journo's were talking about (when AVB might return to 'haunt' us) or even the three years that AVB describes as the time he needs to complete his 'project' then he may be fine. No club aspiring to stay at the top-table has 10 years and unfortunately for AVB he will probably have a great deal less than the 3 years especially if minimum expectations of the owner are not met, although not many will factually know what those minimum's are.

They're journo's and will spout off whatever they need to in order to earn their fee.

As an aside take alook at the quote Cross has made here: http://inagist.com/j...47874128007168/ !!
