Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas

AVB isn't going anywhere, it would simply cost us too much to sack him right now, as we spent £30m clearing out Carlo - I couldn't imagine what it would cost to relieve AVB and staff however what I feel is needed, as an interview troubled me recently in which AVB admitted that he couldn't tell certain players what to do (If you require a link I'll go find one but I'm sure someone would have read it), is an imposing figure on the bench and someone with a defensive tactical mindset to give input. What am I basing my opinion on? Di Matteo's football at West Brom which ultimately cost him his job, I can only surmise that the thinking behind his appointment was like a Butch like appointment, former player and such. Not to mention he has already voiced his opinion to re-evaluate his position at the end of the season. Mr.Holland? Great youth team director/developer/whatever term you want to use however the only reason I can see him as first team assistant coach is to help blood the youngsters into the squad and make the jump from reserve team football to first team football, which has happened, clearly... A touch too harsh on Mr.Holland perhaps but I just don't think, and this is my opinion, that he is supposed to be involved with our first team, no shame in stepping back down to reserve level.

Lost faith in Torres? I still have faith, 27 years old and a £50 million price tag, I better have some faith as he has going nowhere. However there are glimpses of his old self, now what do I mean? Anyone can keep a close eye on him and see the diagonal runs he makes, and other runs. I personally sit 6 rows back so I have a pretty good view of his runs and the things he does as I'm sure a lot of you do too from the TV etc. but what we lack for Torres is simply this.. creative players. The players that can play through balls, the subtle little quick passes and I cannot emphasize and stress the word QUICK enough. How many times have we seen the players receive a ball, put their foot on it, look around, pass.

That is ultimately another reason as to why I am counting the days until the summer transfer window so we can sign a few much needed players and clear out the old dead wood as AVB doesn't have the players required to play his system.

Rambled a touch off track there as this is the AVB thread.

I still believe, although worried for 4th spot.

This guy needs more then 100 million pounds to spend in the summer or we'll struggle next season too. He only has 7 players in the whole squad who should be at the club next season. He needs to add width and creativity to the first team and he basically needs a new bench to replace Malouda and Kalou.

I think there are more than 7 but your point is correct, he does need to be allowed to spend. The absolute necessity must be a left winger who can go past somebody which will allow Mata to play in a central position week in, week out.

Ambromovich may BR angry but he LOVES these games. The old one nil to Chelsea is so boring, to the owner but as we know this performances makes us look 'sexy'!! But we don't do this against the lower teams!! I tell ya we need dembele's in our squad, Studge and Malouda are one foot one 'trick' wonders who I love and support but let's face it, don't create any mismatches cutting in or on the counter. essien gets me gidy when thinking about the following games, he's the only one who confidently takes a man 1v1, ivanovich is simply a BOSS! took young out of game and though gave penalty, completely out did that during the course of the game. AVB is always hard done and its painfull to watch, winless against the top 4 a only city however is really not good enough. Carlo was undefeated vs top four during our epl winning season. Drogba where are you!? Truly missin him but you Torres people will always find a way won't you, I bet that miss he had on the break was the pitch's fault eh? Or was it the rain? Gota convert that no questions asked.

Lets hope we can catch tottenham or hold on to fourth!! Chelsea till I die!!!!

Sessegnon and Dembele... AVB... go for this... or HAmsik and Hazard... thats what we need... I told Sessegnon and Dembele where my wishes for cheap and more then classy (not full worldclass but defo more than avarage) players two years ago... I earned some smileings for that and now look... if you imagine dembele and sessegnon and studge and Mata this would be loads of creativity...

and we need Mikel and Lamps back asap... we don't look solid in the middle of the park...

Why are people blaming Andre? We have five key players missing today (Cole, Terry, Lampard, Ramires and Drogba), plus our bench was heavily weakened by the absence of Kalou and Mikel who are two decent alternatives to throw in if the situation calls for it (I personally think Mikel would have been a good choice in the CDM role yesterday). We were without our three regular captains in JT, Lampard and Drogba, and we had Essien and Sturridge playing despite being 100% fit (apparently Sturridge was nursing a calf injury sustained in training). Without any options on the bench, I think we did alright. AVB's tactics to sit back and soak up pressure whilst playing on the counter, down the wings as much as possible, worked very well. He could never have accounted for two penalty decisions like that in quick succession, by which time the momentum was with United and without any real leadership on the pitch, we crumbled.

If you really want to blame someone, blame Ivanovic for his school-boy defending by not closing Giggs down. Horrible to watch from a reliable defender.

Ivan should have done better there, but IMO Luiz not marking Chicharito five yards in front of Cech is a bigger mistake.

Ultimately we cost ourselves the game with our defending, United smelt blood and went for it, the players looked like they were lacking in instructions on whether to go for it or whether to sit and defend.. Far too open.

I think it was common knowledge that United were going to get a big decision against us as Ferguson timed his interview well, as he usually does "I hope we get more luck.." etc.
