  1. More people have been disgusted by this than not, so yes.. in this case I represent the majority of Chelsea fans.
  2. Nothing bad can ever happen to Chelsea in some peoples eyes, they'll find some way to justify it.
  3. WTF, lmao. COMPLETELY different scenarios. He wasn't a Chelsea legend or symbol of the club then, just a kid who needed game time. He's Frank Lampard now, someone who's identity is intertwined with Chelsea, and the fans feel strongly about.
  4. "Man City are bringing in Lampard so they can comply with PL/CL HG quota, how disrespectful to one of the best players this country has seen." Great move from City tbh though, humiliating for both Chelsea and Lampard. Our legends can be bought, it's almost as if Chelsea is such a nothing club that our ambassadors are more than happy to end their careers leaving a bad taste in the mouth. It's not a full comparison, just the image/being synonymous like JT association.
  5. Jobs was the face of apple, JT & Lamps are the face of Chelsea (which is essentially what I was getting at). These are not mere employees though are they, and the current board are not Chelsea. He should have thought of the fans because it's bigger than that. Lamps should have been intelligent enough not to sign for the City family in the first place; why end your career on a sour note. He should have respect for the fans and his legacy, it comes with responsibility. He's lost part of his identity now, not proper chels like JT.
  6. Chelsea is bigger than the board, or current circumstances. And a comparison like that is ridiculous, it's like Setve Jobs going to Microsoft, Lampard is a huge part of the clubs identity. Lampard & Terry are the last of their kind, we won't have legends like that at the club again, it's the end of a bygone era.
  7. He is Chelsea, an ambassador for the club, synonymous with us, once you become that.. you will rightfully be treated differently.
  8. Love how some are saying "well, he's being forced to go there", no.. he isn't, when he 'decided' to join Man-City's american side he knew the implications of that. Even Ashley Cole has more class than Lampard, he said he wouldn't join another PL club and he had plenty of interest, Liverpool etc. Ironic that, considering what Ash is known for..
  9. Interesting, I wonder what he'll do with the medal if he contributes to them winning the title. Can you decline an invitation to an open-top bus parade..
  10. The reality is that without Romans investment, Terry would still be a semi-Chelsea legend, even if he had eventually moved on.
  11. Romanticism belongs in football, those stories do matter to the majority of fans. JT & Lamps are in their own category, there is a distinct cut off point from Drogba & Cech, especially with Terry.
  12. Without getting too deep into this, being pre-Roman and in Terry's case.. cleaning Chelsea players boots at age 16, are the difference. There was never a point when Cech was the symbol of the club like Terry & Lampard, he never even got a banner at the bridge.
  13. Terry is Chelsea, Lampard is Chelsea, these guys are synonymous with the club.
  14. Cech is Roman era, which brings with it connotations. Lampard isn't Terry status, but as close as you can get. Lampard & JT were the face of the club, and that's the difference.
  15. Cech is nowhere near the same calibre of legend as Lamaprd is. City are direct rivals, so it's not like he's going to relegation fodder, he might well cost us the title indirectly, who knows.
  16. Terry 'like every player' with an agent, wanted to take advantage of the current climate. Every sane Chelsea fan knows that was about improving his current deal, and not because he wanted to leave. It's a dangerous game to play, but again.. it's somewhat forgivable in modern football.
  17. JT knew he could get a great deal for himself, it's what players do in the modern game, it's forgivable in this climate with agents etc. I only speak facts, you need 10 games (those can be sub appearances), will Lamps sell it on ebay or put it on the mantle?
  18. So he scores a match winner 'elsewhere', which takes City top of the table... that's not on par? He could be eligible for a PL winners medal if City win the title.
  19. Again, it's just not clean-cut enough to make that statement. And even then, that was about money, JT knew we'd succumb, he wasn't doing it to go to City.. and yes, there is a difference.
  20. We don't know enough about the behind the scenes of that to make such a statement.
  21. Again though, I'm sure something could be worked out. Being a Man-City bench warmer, who will collect a few minutes here and there is not playing at the highest level. JT said he'd never play for another english club after Chelsea and I believe him. He wants a clean legacy, he knows how the fans would react.
  22. Small things can influence a title race (goal difference, vital points away etc), it just so might be that Frank Lampard contributes to us losing out on the title. Even if it's just taking the pressure of first teamers by playing in the Capital One cup. Rio won't be doing that, unless QPR battle it out with United for 4th. Lampard could go to Australia, he doesn't live with his kids, they live with their mum; it would be a nice holiday for him.. and they could visit.
  23. He won't be playing for them though, he'll never officially be a player.. Like Beckham with Arsenal.
  24. He doesn't want to play against us... but he'll happily contribute for City in a title race that directly involves Chelsea.
