  1. Romanticism belongs in football, those stories do matter to the majority of fans. JT & Lamps are in their own category, there is a distinct cut off point from Drogba & Cech, especially with Terry.
  2. Without getting too deep into this, being pre-Roman and in Terry's case.. cleaning Chelsea players boots at age 16, are the difference. There was never a point when Cech was the symbol of the club like Terry & Lampard, he never even got a banner at the bridge.
  3. Terry is Chelsea, Lampard is Chelsea, these guys are synonymous with the club.
  4. Cech is Roman era, which brings with it connotations. Lampard isn't Terry status, but as close as you can get. Lampard & JT were the face of the club, and that's the difference.
  5. Cech is nowhere near the same calibre of legend as Lamaprd is. City are direct rivals, so it's not like he's going to relegation fodder, he might well cost us the title indirectly, who knows.
  6. Terry 'like every player' with an agent, wanted to take advantage of the current climate. Every sane Chelsea fan knows that was about improving his current deal, and not because he wanted to leave. It's a dangerous game to play, but again.. it's somewhat forgivable in modern football.
  7. JT knew he could get a great deal for himself, it's what players do in the modern game, it's forgivable in this climate with agents etc. I only speak facts, you need 10 games (those can be sub appearances), will Lamps sell it on ebay or put it on the mantle?
  8. So he scores a match winner 'elsewhere', which takes City top of the table... that's not on par? He could be eligible for a PL winners medal if City win the title.
  9. Again, it's just not clean-cut enough to make that statement. And even then, that was about money, JT knew we'd succumb, he wasn't doing it to go to City.. and yes, there is a difference.
  10. We don't know enough about the behind the scenes of that to make such a statement.
  11. Again though, I'm sure something could be worked out. Being a Man-City bench warmer, who will collect a few minutes here and there is not playing at the highest level. JT said he'd never play for another english club after Chelsea and I believe him. He wants a clean legacy, he knows how the fans would react.
  12. Small things can influence a title race (goal difference, vital points away etc), it just so might be that Frank Lampard contributes to us losing out on the title. Even if it's just taking the pressure of first teamers by playing in the Capital One cup. Rio won't be doing that, unless QPR battle it out with United for 4th. Lampard could go to Australia, he doesn't live with his kids, they live with their mum; it would be a nice holiday for him.. and they could visit.
  13. He won't be playing for them though, he'll never officially be a player.. Like Beckham with Arsenal.
  14. He doesn't want to play against us... but he'll happily contribute for City in a title race that directly involves Chelsea.
  15. All he'll be doing is running around cones and using the gym, if he wants 'practise games' with pros he can do that with his uncle at QPR. Beckham trained with Arsenal during LA Galaxy's off-season; why the fuck does Frank need a squad number and a place on the bench to boot.
  16. See, this is why Rio got it spot on, he went to relegation fodder, keeping his distance from United.
  17. Can we conduct another I.Q test on him?, might have been a mistake..
  18. So is this his idea of a "proper goodbye", making his last club in the Premier League our direct rival? I'm sure there are quotes somewhere saying he would never play for another PL club.
  19. Pellegrini has a bone to pick with Mourinho, after he celebrated in the city dugout, watch him bring Frank on against us. If.. 'if', it is just about training and running around a few cones, he can do that anywhere. JT would NEVER do this to us, he'd take the fans perspective, proper chels.
  20. Just hope JT never does anything like this, a 'proper' chelsea ambassador. He'd be thinking of the fans, and how we'd react.
  21. It is.. yes, because one club is in fucking-america and the other is in our own backyard who also happen to be direct rivals...
  22. If he's on loan for a season, he'll be part of their trophy celebrations/parades if they win anything. Just the idea of him coming back to the PL in such a 'direct' way is sickening, at least if it's relegation fodder it's not so bad.
  23. That was actually the most unpopular badge in Chelsea history. ^ Chelsea did the market research before deciding what the fans wanted. If we we're gonna go for the 'throwback look' then you use the 1950's badge which is similar in style...
