Chelsea Wait On Terry Foot X-ray
misschief replied to middleoftheshed's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Course he's a bullshitter, how else is he in management? Guess we'll see what he's really made of now he's starting to experience a little bit of adversity. My guess is we're screwed. -
May well be the first time, but I totally agree with you.
-
Lets be honest here, if a Chelsea player farted the press would manage to capture the steam coming off on camera just to make sure the FA can screw a few more thousand out of us.
-
I dont think the 4 year contract is worth the paper its written on and interestingly enough, Grant obviously doesnt either. He might be a retard.......well actually that goes without saying, but even he had the good sense when asked how he felt about getting a FOUR YEAR contract to say "One year, two years, what does it matter? I'm here for as long as Im here", or maybe he's been in on the little 'plan' all along which is why he couldnt care less? Anyway, back to Rijkaard, yet another tosser but at least a qualified tosser who's had success at a top level. Again, its been suggested that his success was largely down to Ten Cate but then we've already got him and if they can work successfully together again, who knows? Wouldnt pay much attention to the club denying it either, we've all heard them refuting stories in the past. NOTW though.......didnt they say the pope was an atheist once?
-
Funny, but after the game today Andy Gray was saying (and for once I agreed with him) that the top clubs seem to be adopting the mentality of playing 'to not lose at any cost' now, and thats something that just seems to have crept in this season. Why? because the other managers have enough respect for Jose to appreciate that his style worked maybe? The exception seems to be Arsenal who, without doubt go for that 2nd or even 3rd goal instead of trying to protect a 1-0, but we've yet to see where that leads them this year. Strange thing is, we were slated for playing defensively under Mourinho and yet the pundits dont have a problem with either of the red shite doing it.
-
Didnt do too bad against a much better side - as much as I despise them, they've got a lot of players finally coming to fruition and have the pace, energy, creativity and passion we seem to be lacking over 90 minutes. Thought we were pretty sloppy at times and the result couldve been worse but we defended fairly well. SWP getting pwned for the entire game by Clichy and yet manages 75 minutes anyway - class miss btw, its not like we needed a goal or anything. Subs were unimaginative. Pretty disheartening stuff really but not entirely a surprise.

How's he been successful? managing a string of results against average opposition. So what happens when he plays the top 2? Oh thats right, he's not successful. I didnt think he was qualified to do the job at the start and I havent seen anything to changed my opinion so why wait til the end of the season? I honestly dont think we'll have won a single trophy by then anyway. Well then I guess I'll have to continue posing as a Chelsea fan without supporting Grant, nobody seems to have sussed me out as a glory hunter yet. LMAO. Maybe I'll support the next manager if he's good looking. Obviously a vital qualification for us girlies.

Ashley: I'm Not Scared Of Arsenal Fans
misschief replied to TrueChelseaBlue's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Clearly so intimidated by the boo boys he thought he'd give golden boy the smack in the face he so rightly deserves. He went right up in my estimation today, oh and didnt have a bad game either. -
Little kids????? Oh thats priceless, that really is. Someone clearly didnt check any profiles. As a general rule its the older supporters who have the problem with Grant. Maybe something to do with the club we've supported for years being made a mockery of? We're not naive enough to think an untried coach is going to win so much as an argument this season, never mind the CL and Im sure I dont only speak for myself when I say its very sad to hear supporters say winning the Prem or CL is the sole reason to support a manager - Im assuming you didnt sing Jose's name last season? And fall in love with Grant? Fact? If that ever happened in my lifetime I'd personally have myself committed because I'd have to have completely lost my mind. Fact!

WTF? I hope you were pissed when you posted this because you're bang out of order here. Its a forum, people exchange opinions not insults. Get over yourself.

Grant: Theres Life After Mourinhio
misschief replied to Aesthetic Relic's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Well at least the shock of his appointment has worn off a bit now, still despise seeing him either in the dug out or mumbling his way through an interview though. I don't ever remember feeling compelled to turn the TV over when Jose was talking, in fact, Fergie's easier to listen to than Grant and I really cant stand the sight of that twat. -
How is it paying off exactly? Its already been said countless times it wouldnt matter who was managing the club right now since its still Jose's team playing with Jose's mentality. The fact Grant hasn't bored the arse off them all and turned them into a bunch of unmotivated retards yet is just down to time scale, give it time.I'm still undecided about Roman. I totally respect his investment in the club because it allowed us to make that step up, gave us facilities befitting a top club and ultimately gave us Mourinho in the first place. On the other hand I think the way the whole Jose thing was handled (all very snide and underhand imo) showed a total lack of respect on his part. Of course its his club and he can do whatever he likes with it as FB's already said, but alienating supporters in that way wasnt his smartest move. In fact, how anyone can say his only mistake was hiring Grant is beyond me. Forcing players on a manager who clearly knows how to manage a team successfully? Suddenly deciding to penny pinch (allegedly) when its clearly going to make that managers job an awful lot harder? Bringing in someone to snoop around the training ground while rearranging the cones? And how about blatantly not supporting the most successful manager we've ever had because 1) he had a personality and 2) because the successful, winning football, just wasnt sexy enough? I just don't see how any of that was done in the best interests of CFC. Personally I'd rewrite Titanic and shoot the fucker myself.
-
You sure? Some people are happy with Grant and thats their choice. Some of us have stuck by our initial opinions and principles and it dont matter how long he's around that aint gonna change.
-
Thats exactly where the wheels will come off the bandwagon. He strikes me as a lot of things but a master tactician with bottle aint one of them.
-
Marvellous. Wonder whether Roman still thinks he's worth the investment at the end of the season when there's nothing shiny to show for it? Because without a doubt he'll get found out eventually. Anyone can wing it in a job for a certain period of time if all they do is talk about it while others do the actual grafting, its when the going gets tough you find out what theyre made of. Grant aint had to face particularly tough opposition yet or cope with an injury ravaged squad that requires a lot of skilled improvisation to manage............give it time!
-
Yawn!!!!!!!!!
-
He drives me bloody mad, great pace, just a shame half the time he forgets to take the ball with him.
-
Surely with his lack of games that's all the more reason to leave him on? He was the most likely player to score and gets subbed, bloody marvellous.
-
He didnt exactly have his shooting boots on but to be fair to him he was bound to be rusty, his overall play was pretty good though. Wouldnt have taken Sheva off tonight, he looked up for it.
-
Such a frustrating game, looked good but could've played all night without putting the ball in the back of the net. Bit worrying really.

Grant- Ready To Buy If Quality Is Right
misschief replied to Steve's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Well I suppose I did ask. -
On past experience think I'd be inclined to throw Cuducini in for penalties, not saying he'd be any better but you never know.

Grant- Ready To Buy If Quality Is Right

Well he's certainly a master at that if nothing else. Didnt say it was, just asked the question really. So call me an old cynic.
