Bloody relieved to hear the loans are converted into shares though, puts us in a much safer position. -
Abramovich Clears Chelsea Debt

Without a doubt Roman stepped in when we needed him most, his money not only saved the club but also allowed us to make the step up to realistically compete for the top honours. We also wouldnt have had a manager of Jose's calibre at the club to actually achieve something with the funds given, not just in terms of instant success but also in terms of the clubs future. So fair play to Roman for what he's given us. All Im saying is, I dont think everything he's done has been 100% positive and always in Chelsea's best interests. Personally, I respect what he's done for the club but Im not prepared to just kiss his arse while blatantly ignoring the fact he's made some glaringly bad decisions along the way. -
Wenger Hits Back At Chelsea Terry

There's a difference between supporting your players and blindly backing them despite evidence to the contrary being shoved at you from all angles of the media. The first one is commendable, the second one makes you look a twat. -
Course I have, got the paraffin ready to use it as well..........

Very true, but then neither would Grant. -
I thought Tom Tom's meant to be the best?

Wenger Hits Back At Chelsea Terry
misschief replied to TrueChelseaBlue's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Wenger's always blindly defended his players anyway, wouldnt expect anything else from the whinging twat tbh. Wasnt Terry's best ever tackle but it werent a sending off. Besides, all lunges on Cesc should be exempt purely because he deserves everything he gets, surely? -
I think he'll always get the support as long as he continues to give it 100% Still think its tragic the way he was brought to Chelsea and the impact thats had, not just on his season but ultimately, his career. The bloke was idolised at Milan, loving his game, his lifestyle, etc........listens to Roman and suddenly everything comes crashing down. He's worked his arse off for us from day one and hasnt had anywhere near the respect a player of his quality should get.

Chelsea Boss Grant: Abramovich Decides Transfers
misschief replied to TrueChelseaBlue's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Well said. Of course we all acknowledge its Roman's club and he can do whatever he likes but that doesnt mean it'll be in Chelsea's best interests. At the end of the day, whether he professes to love the club or not, he has to realise there's limitations to his millions. There's a big difference between recognising a decent player when you see one and actually knowing what to do with that player. The way I see it, pre-Mourinho, what we had was a group of very talented individual players but there was always something missing. Mourinho comes in, takes those players, adds one or two of his own choice and creates a cohesive team prepared mentally and physically to play as a unit. Having a couple of players (not necessarily in his plans) introduced, upset the balance a little but being the manager he was, he made the necessary adjustments. In hindsight though if the money spent on Sheva and Ballack had been given to Mourinho instead, maybe the title wouldnt have eluded us in the end? Anyway, back to present day, its all very well Roman having his eye on this player or that player and Grant dutifully nodding his dopey head, but ultimately he then has to know where and how that player is going to fit into the side and then get a return for the millions spent. Personally, I can see a return to the days of having a load of maybe talented, but expensive individuals looking good in periods but being as cohesive and effective as a Wimpey new-build. -
Crouch Angered By Mikel Conduct
misschief replied to Aesthetic Relic's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Cant believe Crouch has got the brass neck to open his mouth about that tackle at all. All he's done is regurgitate the same shit Rafa spouted after the game. So Mikel was hassling him for the ball before hand, so fucking what? That's called tackling Crouch you dickhead, not fouling. The scousers make me sick, on the one hand you've got the 70's porn star saying his innocent little angels should be protected, and on the other you've got the lanky streak of piss openly admitting he's recklessly lunged in two footed because he was pissed off Mikel had dared try and get the ball off him. Shit tackle, deserved sending off, end of story. -
I wanted Sat Nav last year and didnt get it, wont be holding my breath this year either. Might buy it myself in the New Year.
-
Bloody ganging up now I've heard all about that, definitely not for the faint hearted.
-
No doubt about it, Sheva has always worked his arse off for us but then he's had to because he doesnt get the service he probably should. Confidence though imo has been a big problem for Sheva, hardly surprising really but there's been times when that's been one of his biggest stumbling blocks. When a player's got that confidence, then they create their own luck.

Y'know what, there's a few on here who say theyre sick of the anti-Grant brigade but what I'm sick of is hearing the tripe that unless you support the spineless wonder then you cant be a true supporter. What utter crap that is. The reason some of us will never support him is exactly because of our support for Chelsea. Right now, he's masquerading as a manager and ripping the club off for a contract to the tune of god knows how much. He's a fraud, he aint got a clue what he's doing and when he fucks up, lets see how many 'true supporters' jump back off his bandwagon.
-
Looked good to me tonight, glad to have him back.
-
He's tryng to say Mikel kicked at him from behind and kept getting away with it. Obviously doesnt realise Chelsea players get away with NOTHING.
-
Bloody frustrating, seemed to be overplaying at times and trying to walk the ball into the net. Still we managed a couple of goals.......eventually. What the fuck was Crouch on? And for any of the scousers to contest it is a joke. According to Rafa it wasnt Crouch's fault because he should've been 'protected' anyway. What a prick!
-
Is that why he he was crap last season? Expected a lot more from him last season and he didnt deliver. Got a feeling he'll be more up for it now...........mind you I think I said that about Sheva as well.
-
And I always thought you were such a gent.
-
Why Ben Haim? He's bloody useless. Its bad enough having JT missing and Carvalho just back, why not keep Alex in?
-
Maybe they're the milkman's?

Now you're just showing off. Grant (even with Ten Cate and Clarke it would seem) lacks all the things you mentioned when it comes to facing the sort of situation Jose seemed to cope with constantly but for me the most important thing he lacks (apart from a personality) will be his players trust. Watching them in some games its all too apparent - how many games did we see them never know when they were beat and eventually get a result just because Jose told them they were better than the opposition? Or because he had them in at half time and reminded them how 'great', 'special', etc they were? Whatever Grant says to them at half time these days clearly doesnt have the same impact. Yes they go back out and play, but is it with the same belief? the same determination to please their manager? Put it this way, Jose could've been out of a job sooner if it hadnt been for the players not leaving that option open to Roman. Would they do the same for Grant?
