Stunning likeness, if a little more attractive than Golum.

Amazing really. I mean, how can we not support him when he keeps telling us how great he is? Well thats Kenyon summed up, if only Grant could live up to such a powerful image.

Very well deserved, he's been immense. -
Grant: Theres Life After Mourinhio

He doesn't make snap judgements because he doesn't read games well enough imo. And the more digs he has at Mourinho, the more he'll alienate supporters and the further he'll set himself up to fall. -
Sometimes? Would those just be the times he opens his mouth?

The challenge he got booked for yesterday werent pretty but I actually thought after JT had a word in his ear Mikel held it together really well. He looked like a blatant target yesterday but for once didnt rise to the bait. Fair play to the man.On the whole though our lack of discipline does seem much more apparent atm. JT lost it again yesterday and got off lightly but I can see why players react like that when it comes to our keepers tbh.
-
Had a decent game imo. I'd hate to see him go, he's always been a favourite of mine and one of the better LB's in the country.

This sexy football's not that easy on the eye but I guess we got the points. Not many positives really but I thought Bridge asked some questions and Drogba was bloody immense, his sheer work rate is unbelievable. Kalou, just doesnt look strong enough to me. And is it just me or were they doing everything possible to get a response out of Mikel? I see Terry have a word in his ear after the yellow and fair play to him for not taking the bait today.

Grant: Theres Life After Mourinhio

Because its bad enough the way he got the job but to try and put a manager of Jose's calibre down is a total joke, not to mention downright bloody disrespectful to the many supporters who still respect and admire what he did for the club. -

Did Jose ever have to make digs at previous managers in an effort to big himself up or did he just win support by doing a very convincing job (which he'd got on his own merit btw)? -
Ok, it was a good result but the odd 4-0 win isnt a sign of anything imo. We've had a couple of good performances with decent results but its hardly consistent. We win 4-0 and suddenly the games where we've convinced nobody are suddenly swept out of sight. How about a bit of perspective?

Thats about it in a nutshell. And some people still reckon he didnt know exactly what was going to happen all along? Some of that drivel that comes out of his mouth gives the game away.

Andriy Shevchenko Still Unhappy At Chelsea
misschief replied to EskWeston's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
OYYYYYYYYY. Just because some of us can handle our beer. Took me a long time to accept it wasnt gonna work for Sheva at Chelsea but Im resigned to it now. He aint done too badly out of it financially, not that I think money was ever his motivation in the first place, but professionally he's definitely counting the cost of being a mate of Roman's. -
Top post.People have very short memories in football apparently but the double standards sicken me. Whether he's managing Chelsea or England, Jose wouldn't change his style, his personality, etc and yet, if he was getting England the results you can bet your arse he'd be praised for exactly the same things he was criticised for at Chelsea. Not an easy one this. On the one hand, I think Jose could really do a job with England. If anyone can take a group of individuals and turn them into a team then we all know he's the man. He's got the balls to make whatever changes need making, the psychological skills to motivate and the tactical know-how to get the best out of players. On the other hand, as we all know only too well this country - specifically the media - loves to build people up to knock them down, so he could bring that elusive World Cup home and still end up the villain within a week or two!!
-
If you're referring to the manager here, dont forget to mention the looks dept. The way we play aint changed for the better thats for sure!

I agree with that, the twat aint fit to clean Jose's shoes never mind fill them! -
Oh so I'm not the only one then.......still, I'm sure we'll be told we just can't see the sexy football we're playing because we're anti-Grant!
-
Not at all, our cards already marked as far as all the officials are concerned anyway. Might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb.
-
Hand on heart you're honestly happy with how we're playing? We've won a few, drawn a few, played just about adequately enough to keep pace. You don't think it'd be a bit unsettling for the players to see Clarke go the same way as Jose, given the role he has at the club? The team HE set up? Did he suddenly start bringing in players without us noticing? And has Grants brand of sexy football just passed me by? because I seem to be the only one round here who can't for the life of me work out how what we're doing now is a better option to what we were doing before.
-
To be fair, I'm sure Arsenal have gone through the odd season being done no favours by the FA as well - largely as a result of their manager being 'outspoken'. As much as I loved Jose, to an extent we're still paying the price for him daring to share his opinion with the world's press. And the fact that others get away with it doesn't mean Essien didn't deserve a card.
-
Was an absolute waste of time appealing anyway. If anything, the only thing that'll come from it is that now yet another decision against us has been upheld, the refs have even more scope because they know they'll always get the FA's backing. Besides, if we're going to appeal against justified decisions, it gives a lot less weight against the unjust ones - starts to look like you're playing the victim imo.
-
Its much easier to get a reputation than it is to lose it and the sad fact is Mourinho turned Chelsea into a team - I know, shocking concept! The lads who've been there long enough to take on board Jose's ethos are prepared to battle and fight for each other, and yes, dare to even question bad decisions. The fact that they occasionally choose to do that directly in the refs face obviously doesn't help. I don't think Chelsea are any worse when it comes to this than Arsenal, Manure or the Scousers, its just highlighted more when its us because apparently we have a reputation to uphold as far as the media's concerned.
-
I think this is a hangover from the Jose days. Firstly, we all know he wasnt backwards at coming forwards, so he upset the officials by daring to say it like it is. Secondly Rafa and Fergie have moaned about us like a couple of bitches at every opportunity - and that bloody penalty was the final nail in the coffin.
-
Spot on. This performance is exactly the sort of thing that pisses me off about Grant's appointment. He can shout his mouth off to the press as much as he likes, making snidey comments aimed at Mourinho and trying to compare himself with the likes of Wenger and Fergie, but as long as we keep turning in performances like this one then the more ridiculous replacing Jose with him looks. Sexy football my arse!
