  1. Oh so I'm not the only one then.......still, I'm sure we'll be told we just can't see the sexy football we're playing because we're anti-Grant!
  2. Not at all, our cards already marked as far as all the officials are concerned anyway. Might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb.
  3. Hand on heart you're honestly happy with how we're playing? We've won a few, drawn a few, played just about adequately enough to keep pace. You don't think it'd be a bit unsettling for the players to see Clarke go the same way as Jose, given the role he has at the club? The team HE set up? Did he suddenly start bringing in players without us noticing? And has Grants brand of sexy football just passed me by? because I seem to be the only one round here who can't for the life of me work out how what we're doing now is a better option to what we were doing before.
  4. To be fair, I'm sure Arsenal have gone through the odd season being done no favours by the FA as well - largely as a result of their manager being 'outspoken'. As much as I loved Jose, to an extent we're still paying the price for him daring to share his opinion with the world's press. And the fact that others get away with it doesn't mean Essien didn't deserve a card.
  5. Was an absolute waste of time appealing anyway. If anything, the only thing that'll come from it is that now yet another decision against us has been upheld, the refs have even more scope because they know they'll always get the FA's backing. Besides, if we're going to appeal against justified decisions, it gives a lot less weight against the unjust ones - starts to look like you're playing the victim imo.
  6. Its much easier to get a reputation than it is to lose it and the sad fact is Mourinho turned Chelsea into a team - I know, shocking concept! The lads who've been there long enough to take on board Jose's ethos are prepared to battle and fight for each other, and yes, dare to even question bad decisions. The fact that they occasionally choose to do that directly in the refs face obviously doesn't help. I don't think Chelsea are any worse when it comes to this than Arsenal, Manure or the Scousers, its just highlighted more when its us because apparently we have a reputation to uphold as far as the media's concerned.
  7. Probably not that lucky getting mistaken for a boy. Seeing them again in a couple of weeks - just showing off now!

  9. I think this is a hangover from the Jose days. Firstly, we all know he wasnt backwards at coming forwards, so he upset the officials by daring to say it like it is. Secondly Rafa and Fergie have moaned about us like a couple of bitches at every opportunity - and that bloody penalty was the final nail in the coffin.
  10. Spot on. This performance is exactly the sort of thing that pisses me off about Grant's appointment. He can shout his mouth off to the press as much as he likes, making snidey comments aimed at Mourinho and trying to compare himself with the likes of Wenger and Fergie, but as long as we keep turning in performances like this one then the more ridiculous replacing Jose with him looks. Sexy football my arse!
  11. If he's got the highest form of coaching badge in Israel maybe he should be coaching there? Just a thought. Obviously Im ecstatic for him.
  12. Nice gesture? The bloke's a moron. Firstly, there was no point even making these comments apart from trying to ingratiate himself to England supporters. Secondly, openly saying he's prepared to take those sort of risks with our captain, particularly when our other CD is injured already, just shows how little thought he puts into it.
  13. You've got to look at injuries to an extent because we seriously havent got anyone decent as cover for the first team. JT and Ferdinand out so we have what as cover? Campbell and Lescott - do me a favour. Lescott aint even that great at club level imo and Campbell's just living in the past. Crouch? Good enough? I hardly think so, I dont care what anyone else says he just aint good enough as a lone front man - and with the exception of the goal, he darent take a bloody shot on. And as much as I've always preferred Bridge to Cole defensively, Cole would've been a better option to have Wednesday night. No doubt about it, the 'big' players didn't perform but there's a reason they can all perform for their clubs and not for their country - and I don't believe all that bollocks about money motivating them. Lampard having missed a penalty previously, being booed everytime he pulls on his boots and knowing he'd get hung if he missed, still has the bottle to step up and take a penalty when we're 2-0 down - is that because he's motivated by money or because he'll put his arse on the line for England's sake? The reason they don't do the business for their country is down to shit tactics and a lack of leadership - bad enough they had to put up with McClaren Wednesday night, but when they really needed a decent captain to rally them, the vice captain went missing.
  14. Our players werent up to much last night, but then they were no better or worse than players from any other club. As usual big game, key players out and we just dont have good enough players in reserve - doesnt bode well for England's future really. As for saint scouser, a PI would've had a job finding him in that game - vice captain, my arse!
  15. So he throws big tips about, big deal. Hope he's happy now he wins both ways - Russia through and Chelsea players getting a nice summer break.
  16. Bloody annoying when an underqualified manager is appointed. They have stuck a roof on it but what difference would that have made? It only rained for an hour before the game. We didnt miss out on qualifying because of last nights result, its the rest of the shit results during the campaign that left us in that position in the first place. McClaren's appointment was a joke from the start and he's probably done even worse than most of us expected him to - the FA should carry the can for that. With the players at our disposal, England should not be missing out on qualification - its a total fucking embarrassment. Ok, you could argue the players havent performed but its the managers job to get a performance out of them and have the balls to kick out those that dont. Tactically, McClaren has been bloody clueless. I know our keepers would give sammy the seal a run for its money, but putting Carson into a big game like that ffs? Frank Carson would've done a better job. Especially with Campbell and Lescott in front of him, inept just doesnt cover it. And Im not even going to go into taking Cole off. And who was the biggest twat of the night? Me - wanting to fight half the crowd.
  17. I was just about to call you all the two-faced gits under the sun after everything you said last season. Personally, he pissed me right off last season. Apart from the odd game, his heart just didnt look in it to me and that was reflected in his football. I think he got away with it because all the attention was focused on Sheva not performing. I'd like to think he can still do a good job for us though if he's motivated by more than money.
