I think too many people let themselves get too carried away on the strength of last week's game, thats why there's so much disappointment this week. Personally, I didnt think it was the best Ive seen but it wasnt the worst either. Quite a few poor performances in the Chelsea side but credit to Wigan for a really spirited fight. It could've been worse, we got 3 points and despite what some people might have started believing last weekend - we aint no Brazil.

I think the club are mad not to pin Cole down to a contract before next summer. I have to say its crept up on me a bit but he's probably the player who's grown on me most at Chelsea over the last couple of seasons. He's really grown up and grown into his role and his attitude is top class.

He's only got two years left, the plan according to Kenyon is to re-negotiate next summer.

Ultimately, he could've got off with a lot less is he'd just held his hands up to start with. As it is, him and his agent have chosen to appeal every single decision, dragging it out for 4 years while Chelsea's legal bills keep going up, so its his own bloody fault. I've got no sympathy with him at all.

What can I say after that? Couldn't be happier. Deco - what a fucking debut game, worked his little arse off and thoroughly deserved a goal. In fact the quality of that goal totally summed up his game for me - class. Nice to see us still come out looking for more goals in the 2nd half, in previous seasons at 3-0 up we'd have shut up shop. Well happy with that.

I think its an obscene amount of money and I really can't see how its good business sense to give 30 year olds five-year deals, for me, its just another example of how Chelsea waste money just because Roman's there to bail them out. Self-sufficient? Not like this we won't be.
