We paid 13million euros for him and get less than 4 back? We really need to stop throwing money away on players like this.

Cech Signs for another 5 Years
misschief replied to Fulham Broadway's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Agree with that. Good news we've tied him down for a decent length of time though. -
Really gutted to see one of my favourite Chelsea players go. Shame we couldn't come up with a deal to keep him, I always thought he would stay on in a coaching capacity but I guess it's unrealistic to think he'd be playing in our first team for the two year's PSG have offered him. A true pro for Chelsea from start to finish.

Essien Signs for 5 Years as well
misschief replied to Fulham Broadway's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Has Riccy signed a new deal? I thought he'd just said he would so far? Great to see Chelsea sorting out new deals for a few players we really need to hang on to. After all the uncertainty of last season, this should help settle things down. Smart move. -
I can't believe his nerve sometimes
-
He's worked his arse off for years at Chelsea with a lot less credit than he's deserved while the big time Charlie's are all over the back pages week in week out. Any other players out there good enough to have a role named after them? Enough said. Maka's what you can really call a loyal servant to Chelsea and if he leaves, he'll do it with as much dignity and respect as he's always given to the club.

I think United have more reason to try and keep hold of Ronaldo than Chelsea do Lampard to be fair. Ronaldo was an absolute goal machine last season and an integral part of a very successful United side, plus he's not a 30 year old asking for £150,000 a week. Besides that, his contract is a lot longer than Lampard's. If we had Ronaldo I don't think we'd be doing anything different to United right now. One of the differences between the players' handling of the situation (with neither of them coming out publicly to offer an explanation to the supporters) is that Ronaldo, to my knowledge, hasn't pledged his love - and the rest of his career - to United for the past two seasons. We have to face facts, he can kiss his badge as much as he likes but Lampard doesn't want to be at Chelsea and his only true loyalty is to one person - Frank Lampard.

Tony Cascarinos 2 cents on Lampard Saga
misschief replied to warnie_666's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Cascarino's an idiot. How can he say Chelsea have let Frank down? Chelsea made Frank Lampard and if it wasn't for Chelsea he'd be lucky if the Championship clubs were even interested in him now never mind Serie A. Chelsea FC and its supporters have given Lampard plenty in the last 7 years, he's just conveniently forgetting that because he can't see past his overblown ego. -
Chelsea Reject Inter Approach For Frank
misschief replied to DavidEU's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Inter are offering 4 years as well. All this wrangling over length of contract is starting to look like an excuse now. He doesn't want to stay so the club should just let him go - and watch him fall flat on his arse at Inter. -
Considering he's spent the year at Chelsea completely redundant, he was really positive about us. Makes a nice change for a player to have that sort of attitude. Fair play to him. I hope he does well at Villa - as long as it's not against us.

Chelsea Reject Inter Approach For Frank
misschief replied to DavidEU's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Well the last time we heard from him, it was the usual 'I love Chelsea and want to stay", when actually he probably knew then that it'd come to this. I'd love to see what he'd do if they called his bluff and offered him the 5 years anyway, lol. I agree with you Esk, good on Chelsea for sticking to their guns - its a bloody good deal and reflects his worth to the club without encouraging other players to try their luck at a bit of contractual blackmail. And Frank should definitely come out and be 'honest' with us all now because this is in danger of becoming bitter and he'd have only himself to blame. -
Made no sense at all signing him in the first place, he was never going to feature. Still we made a decent amount out of it so mustnt grumble.

Chelsea Reject Inter Approach For Frank
misschief replied to DavidEU's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
A four year deal worth £140,000 a year is hardly a crap deal. It works both ways, if Frank really wanted to stay, firstly he would have signed two years ago instead of letting it drag on and secondly he'd see the deal for what it is - a bloody good one for any player his age. Ronaldo hasn't even got a deal as good as that and he's undoubtedly the best player in the country if not the world right now. Lampard needs to be realistic. -
I think he was out of order (as well as wide of the mark) to say he's better than Carvalho but someone made a valid point on another forum - he was wanted by a lot of big clubs, we signed him, didnt play him and apparently didnt talk to him about it. He's supposed to be shit hot, so if we have have treated him badly we might live to regret it. On the other hand, a lot of what went on under Grant shouldnt be used against Scolari, the man hasnt even had time to assess the players yet, never mind decide who's staying or going.

£7.95million bid looks official tonight. Hope we push for £10million at least. -
Petr Cech Wants To End Career With Blues
misschief replied to BlueLion.'s topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Great keeper, Im happy with that. -
If he has to stay then he needs to get over himself and do what he's bloody paid for. End of story.
-
Course we don't, his contract's expired. It just means we get to stop paying his wages. Lesson learnt hopefully - at least they weren't prepared to do the same with Sheva.

Saves Roman a bit of money.

Wright: Scolari won’t win any trophies
misschief replied to Aesthetic Relic's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I think its fair comment that a half decent manager could win with a Brazilian side and he could potentially have done better in 2004. Apart from that though Wrighty's a twat and obviously very bitter towards Chelsea anyway. If he could just accept that if Shauny was good enough to play for us regularly then he would do, the world would be a happier place. -
He might've only dazzled in a couple of the Euro games, but he certainly made a name for himself at Zenit before that.
-
He might as well go. He'll never get the same level of support from Chelsea that he used to after least season's antics anyway and his ego wouldn't be able to accept that.

misschief replied to Aesthetic Relic's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I think Wright makes some valid points. Doesnt alter the fact he's a twat though. -
Not everyone Esk. Personally I think if Lampard really wanted to stay, he wouldnt have failed to sign a contract for the past two years. If the reports are true and its about Lampard wanting Chelsea to give him an unrealistically lengthy contract then they should let him go. No player his age - no matter who it is - should be given more than two years at a time. They made that mistake with Sheva and it looks like they've learnt from it.

Hope you had a good 'un.
