Simply, Leverkusen's manager Holzhäuser is pissed, because KDB seems to have more interest in joining BVB than Bayer. There was a similar situation with Bremen's CB Sokratis who told Leverkusen that he'd sign for them but a few days later signed a deal at Dortmund. Holzhäuser's statement is a cry of desperation ("We assume, that Chelsea hold their promises."), because he knows if we're going to sell/loan KDB, he'd probably join Dortmund. Holzhäuser's a cunt and I could see him not selling Schürrle to us if we don't hold the agreement.

BVB are interested in Eriksen, De Bruyne and Bernard and they'll pretty surely sign two of these. At least, that's how it looks like at the moment. 8m €.

Fenerbahce wouldn't be an improvement to PSV either. If there's a serious offer from a top league, he might think about it.

He's 6'1 (1,86).

Apparently he's been nominated for the U21 squad of the Netherlands for the European Championship in Israel. On the 6th June they play their first game against Germany. Will be a good opportunity to compare him with other players at his age.

Very good signing I think, although I hope this has no influence on De Bruyne's future at Chelsea. It will be interesting to see, if he'll go out on loan or straight into the first squad.

I wonder how many people who are praising Sturridge right now, did that the same way in the first half of the season. We still got 15mio for him also btw.
-
He's different than Ramires. Yes, he's playing a similar role at Madrid, but Rami is a lot more dynamic and quicker while on the other hand, Khedira has the passing, vision and the tactical cleverness which Ramires is lacking at times. At the right price, he'd be a good adition to the squad in my opinion. We bloody need some depth in our DM.
-
As far as I know, he's a good player, above average in the Eredivisie, but not worldclass-level. He definitely wouldn't be a bad deal as you can't do anything wrong for free, but I don't know if we should sign a CB at all. There's Luiz, Cahill, Terry and Ivanovic and we still have Aké, too. I think, if we're to sign a CB, we should do it to really strengthen the squad and not just for depth. I don't think Douglas will strengthen the first team.

Europa League Final 2013 - Benfica 1-2 Chelsea
GermanBlue replied to Jase's topic in Champions Archive
Definitely gonna miss Hazard a lot. I'd like to see Ramires in the attacking 3 instead of Moses and Luiz in the DM along with Frank. Benfica has only won 2 of their last 5 games now, so we can and have to beat them! Their quotes are the best prompting. -

(SOURCE) Is that the right attitude? I think that striker problem is much bigger than what we think of, because if we really do another big-money transfer like Falcao or Cavani, that guy's deservedly gonna play, and Lukaku, even if he played an awesome season, is the third behind Demba Ba who still wants to play some games. And on a long-term-basis, this could be a problem because another loan move could produce a similar situation as we have with Courtois at the moment. I'd throw him into the team and let him fight for his games, because he's got the talent to become better than at least Ba, but Luk seems like somebody that has to feel the trust from the coach and wants to have a guarantee to always be in the starting line-up.

Well, Bayern played well and they're favorites for the final, but fuck, I actually really hope they get destroyed in the 2nd leg. The team doesn't deserve it, but the fans do. You probably can't understand me, because you don't know what it's like over here. The arrogance of their fans pisses me off sooo much. Somebody might have to tell them how brave their players where in last final's penalty shootout.
-
If we are interested in him, we will have a lot of competitors as it seems like every above-average club in Europe is interested in him like Atletíco, Bayern, Valencia, Liverpool or ManU.
-
He's a completely different type than those two. He's the one that comes from a deeper position, in our system probably one of the 3 offensive midfielders of the 4-2-3-1. Son can certainly be compared with Marko Marin although I rate him higher, because he seems more mobile (is it the right term?), also has a magnificant shot and he's even younger than the German. For an adequate price, he'd be a good buy I think although he might need some time, you have to remember he's just 20.

Yes, we probably have to set our priorities, but playing with a complete reserve and youngster team as it was suggested is not the way to go IMO. These matches will be good opportunities to give players like Ake a chance to get familiar with the first team. A little mix would be the best. We should rest the players who need a rest like Mata or Lamps atm, but we should still look to get the most out of this competition and if a player is fit, he should play. The priority this season is to stay in the top 4 in the league but the EL is still a trophy to go for.
-
I'd also love to see Ake as a starter, but for the second part, wouldn't it be much more humiliating to get knocked out by a team like Sparta Prague in the EL because we play half-assed? No one denies that the EL is not the competition we belong in, but we can't change that now and I want to see the team doing their best to win this trophy.

Although Fellaini doesn't seem to 100% what we need, I think he'd be very useful with his physical appearance which our current team is lacking at some points.

You could easily see that he isn't on top form at all. Played a above-average number of bad passes. I agree on both sides of the discussion about that second goal. First, we were too offensive-minded. With pacey players like Gouffran, Sissoko and even LB Santon, it was always likely that they overrun us with a counter attack, especially with Cabaye being able to play the perfect passes. So is it that difficult to concentrate on defending instead of scoring the third goal? In that part of the game Newcastle was shocked by the two goals, so we could've just circulated the ball and keep control. But no, everyone spurted forward and our defence was open. And on the other hand, JT played his part and went to ground too easy. An experienced defender like him should've seen that the defence was open and when he went to ground, we were 2 vs. 3 (?) I think. But that's normal after such a long injury. He still did some good clearing headers.

Just ridiculous.
-
Ter Stegen's form has dropped a little, he isn't that outstanding like he was last season. Courtois is at least on one level with him IMO.
-
Win-Win situation for us. I'm sure we won't sell him for 10m, that's a joke. Actually, how about a loan to Barcelona? I know there are downsides like Thibaut starting to have them in their heart instead of Chelsea, because he never really played here, but if Courtois is cool with it, why not? He'd learn to play in a team which doesn't let too many shots on the goal and Barca could wait like 2 more years until keepers like ter Stegen are older and developed enough for playing there. Not sure if Barca would like this solution though. Selling Cech is a no-go IMO. He can easily play 2 more years on top of his game while Thibaut can develop at loans if he's ok with it. Everything depends on the kid.

About Guardiola. I think it has two sides. Btw I'm no Bayern fan, I see it from a neutral point of view. At first, Guardiola is probably the best available successor for Heynckes who has done great work at Munich. He knows how to win titles and how to motivate a team. Some people said there could be big problems with the language and used Trappattoni as an example for it who failed at Bayern, but Pep is different. Not only he's learning German for months now, he's also a calm person (the "philosopher") who knows how to avoid a bad public image in contrast to Trap who was raging all over the press all the time. The Barcelona style of play is indeed similar im some points to the Bayern one atm, but it remains to be seen if Pep tries to copy that style one to one or adapts it to the squad. It will be interesting to see how he will put the team together and if he wants positive role models like Mueller in the team who might not match the requirements of his style of playing the game. The board and especially Hoeneß is a big fan of role models and he wants to keep them particularly the German players. I think there is some potential for conflicts, as Bayern is not a team like City or Chelsea where a new coach can tell the board the players of his desire and they're bought, but on the other hand, Bayern is a team with characters, with role models and I'm sure Guardiola will get his time to make the team successful.
