To be honest, as long as 1 of the talented youngsters from our academy makes the Chelsea first team and stays there, I'll be satisfied. I get the feeling that Chalobah or Aké are more likely to make it. I'm not hating on the rest of our academy but Aké showed promising signs in his cameo appearances last season and Chalobah did well in the majority of Watford's games last season. As for Josh McEachran, I can only hope we find him a suitable loan destination or sell him with a buy back clause....kind of like what L'pool did with Shelvey.

Pre-season player focus - Andre Schurrle
Reddish-Blue replied to hjperdeath's topic in Chelsea Articles
Nice article but in terms of Schurrle's pre-season, it wasn't that great.. He was nowhere near his full capacity, hopefully we see alot more consistency in his play. -
We could of gone after Jovetic and saved ourselves from this whole Rooney saga. I just don't see Moyes agreeing to sell Rooney UNTIL he signs a big name player...and that player will most likely be Fellaini
-
No-one is expecting us to be on the level of Madrid just because the Special one has returned...but after a few good wins in pre-season, we needed a loss against a strong side to show us where we need to improve.
-
Lampard was rubbish, don't understand why he started the game. He completely slowed down our midfield and basically gave Madrid a one man advantage. Hopefully Van Ginkel can handle the step-up from the Dutch league to the EPL...can't wait to see him in a few seasons with a polished skill set All in All, Real deserved the victory. The signing of Isco will be massive for them this season.
-
RAMIRES...just like the chip he scored against Barca
-
One of the most biased posts i've seen on this forum. I've seen Wilshere play and I feel he is yet to show his full skill-set. I'm not going to get involved with these KDB vs Wilshere comparisons because they are both classy players in their own right.
-
He needs to improve alot in the coming seasons. Hopefully Schurrle justifies his price tag as a squad player.
-
United won't sell Rooney regardless of any transfer request. Moyes needs to make a top-class signing before he agrees to sell Rooney
-
Moses was just BEAST. Schurrle's still adapting to Chelsea's way of playing, should provide good depth on the wings. Torres had an alright performance, tried to track back and won the ball a few times, hopefully he can score/assist a few goals this season..
-
I'm seriously surprised that Wenger has yet to add a top-class player during this transfer window. As for Spurs, it'll be very interesting to see who AvB brings in to fill the void left by Bale.
-
Unless we offload a midfielder, I don't see Chelsea signing a new DM/CM. Gustavo is a good player but I'd be surprised if he doesn't sign with Wolfsburg.
-
Thats the same as saying how the hell would you know that Rooney is willing to take a paycut to join Chelsea? Alot of people are assuming that Rooney will earn similar wages if he does end up moving from United to Chelsea...but I just don't see Moyes letting go of Rooney. Moyes is yet to make a marquee signing as United boss...letting Rooney leave for 30-35 million doesn't make much sense.
-
Alot of fans are putting Moyes down because it's a massive step-up for him. To go from Everton (top 8 PL team, limited budget) to Manchester United (top 3 PL team, large budget, massive pressure) will seriously test his ability. Also, the fact that he's taking over from a Premier League icon in Sir Alex will just put him even further under the microscope. I think Moyes can be a successful manager at United as long as he adds some steel to your midfield.
-
I'd be VERY excited if Mikel was sold. Then we could have an awesome midfield. Hopefully we don't lose too many games due to lack of quality at CF & DM. Anyway, back on topic...Van Ginkel just looks like a brilliant signing.
-
He's got a very impressive engine. A bargain for the price we paid..
-
Disgusting stamp. He even looked away like he did nothing wrong
-
I agree with most of your post..except when you say that Mikel is a good DM. He's a good midfielder but an average DM and I'm not sure if he would be a starter on any other top team. If Mikel does get sold (which is unlikely), it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. We could bring in a new DM and Mikel could showcase his talent for another team...win win situation.

I think Luiz brings alot of intangibles which can't be measured by money. I don't know how much Luiz is worth...but not many defenders in world football are actually worth 40 million. If Luiz was to be sold (which is unlikely), why not make Barca overpay for him?
-
Mancini's tactics weren't suited to Dzeko's style of play I reckon we will finally see Dzeko lead the line for City and score 25 goals easily.
-
Ridiculous transfer fee for Bale. Real Madrid don't need Bale...I would of thought signing a striker was their priority. They could have easily gotten Suarez or Cavani or even Rooney for less than 80 million.
-
I'd take the paycut and move back to Spain if I was in his shoes. He's 29 and he's on the decline...moving back to Spain where he could finish his career without so much pressure isn't a bad decision. If he does stay at Chelsea, I hope he doesn't affect Lukaku's development into a beast forward..
-
People on this forum would respect your opinion about Luiz if it made any sense. You basically said we can buy 2 quality CB's for 40 million..yet you have failed to name those 2 CB's. If Mourinho didn't want Luiz as his starting CB...he would have sold him by now.
-
Agree with everything you said...but Mata is not "WAY Better" than Hazard... Also, I feel Hazard's ceiling is much higher than Mata's... All in All, there's no doubting that both of them are quality players..
