He should learn how to dribble towards people on a yellow card. The right back was booked and he should have gone towards him to make him commit to a challengeIf he dribbles towards one player consistently the guy is more likely to get sent off rather than receiving one tackle each from every PSG player who gets one warning each.
-
I was more annoyed with the fact that he didn't win a single ball in the air than other aspects of his game
-
This would make sense. He can focus on his defensive areas and managing the tactics during the game while the attacking patterns is done by the coach. Our counterattacks have been so bad this season and its not looking normal again.
-
Mourinho used to be the best counter-attacking manager in the world, and I'm a huge fast paced counter style fan. He has completely abandoned his main style and it's starting to get me worried. The last time we pulled off a proper counter-attacking performance was last season against City. Its too few nowadays. In big away games we attack as if the players just met each other for the first time and there is no sign of a practiced attacking move during the match. Its only the defensive shape I see but no plans in place when city or PSG lose the ball, we just pass to hazard and hopes he runs to the 18box successfully or we send a long hopeful ball to costa and prays he is Drogba. What has happened to those swift counterattacks of the old Mourinho teams? He needs to implement it here against the big teams. Our weakness can't be as easy as PSG letting us have the ball then we don't know what to do or PSG stopping hazard from running past players by fouling him. It's too easy. I know our players have weakness of keeping balls under pressure, but I need to watch our team and see some of our attacking pattern once in a while, its looking like too much guess work.
-
Another realization is our team is not a team that fits Mourinho's tactics. He needs physically strong and athletic people in the midfield, (a midfield trio of Matic, matuidi, sissoko) and a striker that holds the ball under pressure and win long balls like drogba used to be. This current team is terrible at physically holding unto the ball under pressure bar hazard and Matic. Because of this, Mourinho's tactics in big games won't be at full potential. We miss the Matic-luiz combo more than I thought we would
-
My only problem with Jose is he doesn't practice counterattacks anymore. Like Henrique said, he came to the match in the first half expecting PSG to hold possession and we counter but they sat back and the whole tactics was thrown under the bus. Because we can't pass the ball ourselves to create chances when big teams defend, and we can't defend counters like PSG and mancity. These are aspects of the game that must be practiced: 1. defending counterattacks, 2. Attacking with counterattacks 3. Possession under pressure Mourinho doesn't practice these 3 aspects of the game and I'm sure of it. We are not good at any of the 3 important aspects of big games and it's getting frustrating. We can't even press press teams from the front again, so how does he expect us to counter when we stroll around when opposition have possession. Our weakness is to attack ivanovic and cahill side, but Mourinho won't do anything about it. PSG kept on attacking our right side, that I lost count. The difference between this match and the tottenham match was tottenham scored their chances. Cahill is not a starting material anymore and I was shocked at how bad all our midfielders were at holding the ball under pressure except hazard, Matic and Willian.

He should start dribbling towards players who have already been booked to get them sent off. He should be taking even more advantage of his ability this way so that defenders will be afraid to touch him on yellow
-
What has happened to his counterattacks??? We are so bad at counter-attacking, its unreal. He's completely forgotten how to use counter tactics. Very weird
-
Terrible 2nd half. I can't stress how poor the 2nd half was. And our best defenders in the world didn't win one ball in the air against Ibra. They attacked through cahill/ivanovic side all through and we couldn't stop them yet again. When zouma played we forgot that weakness. Terrible passing under pressure and terrible pressing throughout.
-
Terrible. Torres level performance today

Daylight robbery

We have a technically poor team. Once the team is under pressure no one seems to know how to pass a ball. Our pressing from the front too is poor too.

The driver doesn't know how to park our bus
-
We need to practice our counterattacks. And we need more than only just costa, hazard and oscar going forward to attack. That way our counters will be more fluid.

Welcome. Your English is okay. I'm asking a lot of questions I hope it won't be too much. I wanted a Russian's view on the situation in Russia, because I've only heard from the USA /Ukrainian side. Is the economy really terrible now in Russia or is the western media exaggerating the situation?? The western media say people are suffering and even losing their homes because of the sanctions. But I know people who make money from selling imported goods have been hit the most by the sanctions. What is the real situation going on there?? What is Putin doing to fight back the sanctions? The only one I know was him reducing imports from Usa, trying to abandon the dollar by exchanging only in euros, the multibillion dollar deal with China, making gas deals with turkey, weapons deals with India and supposedly is meeting Hungary today for a gas and trading deal. He is rumored to be saving a lot of Russian foreign reserves in Gold(I'm not sure of this) Did I leave anything else out of this?? What does Crimea have that makes it significant to Putin? Is it because there are Russians living there?? or is it because the Russian battleship is there so they took it at all cost to prevent Nato to get closer to Russian territory /war ships??? Could it be true that Russia gave Ukraine that land as a sign of alliance decades ago but because Ukraine has betrayed Russia by siding with EU and USA they just took it back???? Is there oil in Crimea that is making it an important money making zone?? Does Putin have a hand in what the rebels are doing??? If you say Putin has a hand in the rebels, then what does he gain from trying to seize land in Donetsk and other eastern parts of Ukraine?? Is he trying to destabilize Ukraine long enough to prevent them from joining NATO as long as possible?? If you say the rebels are on their own, then how do they have those sophisticated weapons?? Or are they supplied by the former president that was removed by US backing Ukraine.

The bold part is not true
-
They were terrible against celtavigo. Athletico couldn't get their feet on the ball and had just 30% possession in the first half. I'll choke Mourinho the day Swansea does that to us. I know we normally have 10-15mins spells where we can't seem to get out of our half, and maybe concede, but not a whole match.
-
I think I remember, he didn't defend till the last 10mins and they conceded a late gomez goal. The bottom line is he should let 5-6 players spring on the counter instead of letting hazard and Costa alone to attack. We have to practice our counterattacks. We have become terrible at what we used to be good at.
-
Our most important players are Matic, hazard and fabregas. But our player of the season is costa. After years with torres, even with hazard and Matic we weren't as good as this season. There's no way I won't name the top scorer in the league our player of the season.
-
Be prepared to be disappointed. I'm a Mourinho fan, but I know how he sets up in away games in champions League. Defend and counter, if the opponent doesn't attack much then we draw.I'll love him to change his strategy to get an away goal but not concede more than one. Infact if I was a manager I'll rather attack more away than home since away goals carry more weight, but thats just me, what do I know.

No need imo but that's just me

Fastest centerback since gallas

Is there anyone else who thinks it's fun watching him pass the ball as if he's thinking... "open your body shape, bend foot outwards, move foot towards the ball, strike ball with instep in the direction of your teammate, keep "concentration face" at all times"
