An excellent work done by a team over at http://blog.emiratesstadium.info An article that reviews most of the chelsea games from last season and shows the referees who gave decisions in favor of our team and against us!!! Not a surprise that Phil Dowd ranks atop the list of negative bias Read the below link for the complete article: http://blog.emirates...archives/23006? Source: http://blog.emiratesstadium.info

Hmm.. I was totally blown away by the Hulk youtube compilations... i was so eager for him to join chelsea i bought tickets for the Bra vs Arg game last weekend and watched the game.. My first live game and was totally blown away by ... not Hulk.. but Messi !! Superb hattrick from him.. just WOW... anyways back to topic.. Hulk though he scored a goal off a corner.. was made to look very average by Zabaleta !!! He did not dribble past him even once.. Got 2 one on one chances and blew them both... Maybe it was just a off day and he failed to turn up.. or maybe it was a friendly and he wanted to take it easy... either ways he wasn't convincing enough for 38m price tag... Neymar on the other hand was totally world class... i had always doubted his you tube bits.. but was totally impressed with his play.. very good awareness.. nice touches.. excellent turn of speed, good dribbles.. only difference between him and messi was finishing.. guess he will get that with age... Lucas Moura another palyer linked with us came on for the last 10 mins and rarely had a touch.. So cannot comment on him... But on this game's eveidence.. Neymar over Hulk anytime !!

I know its absurd to even think about having statues of club legends who are still palying... But if ever Chelsea decided to have one, it should be Lamps above Drogs... Stats don't lie.. He has been our most consistent player EVER. Goals, Assists - You name it, hes got it. Big game player, small game player if there was anything like that , rarely missed games until a season ago, super fit super frankie. A consummate professional. I know us fans will have a lot of differing opinions. But for me Lamps is above Drogs and JT.

^^ He plays for Porto :/ Im sure they will rip us asking another 30+ million for him.... NO MORE DEALS with Porto pls...
-
But unfortunately it looks like the club is going to let both Flo Mo and Essien run down their contracts by next summer. There have been no talks of a new deal and more likely than not, our Club for some strange reason prefer letting players go for free than get at least a small amount !!!

If we are to get both Hulk and Hazard, we have to remember that we would be having a major share of possession (at least 60 to 70%) as the attacking team against most of the opposition in EPL (bar Arsenal, ManU and ManC)... And as the attacking team, I do not think we would need a true DM to provide us a shield. If Rami pushes up, David Luiz or Cahill would be stepping up alongside Mikel to form a back 3.. And i guess we would be having a high defensive shield (i know it does not suit JT) if we are to be a super attacking team. My starting 11 in EPL would be one of the following (not mentioning defense as we are talking only abt att and mid) (4-2-3-1) FT9 EH - JM - HULK FL8 - Rami or (4-3-3) EH-FT9-HULK JM-MIKEL-Rami Against Arse, ManU or ManC - I had play the following FT9 (4-2-3-1) EH - JM - HULK/Rami FL8-Mikel or EH - FT9 - HULK (4-3-3) FL8-Mikel-Rami or EH-FT9-Hulk JM-Mikel-Rami In either case, I envisage Ramires starting in almost a majority of our matches next season. And they would all be from a CM position IF we get Hulk... Else he would take the RW spot as he did during our close season. i would personally not like Rami to be our RW. Yes - he was good for us the past 2 months. But that is only because we were uinltra defensive and were only counter attacking. With Hazard and FT and JM, even without Hulk we would not be playing Defensive which would mean our wingers would have to be skillful enough to beat their man and create space / chances which is not Ramires' forte... Hence why he should play in CM as our engine if we are to become an attacking team....
-
Think it will be the Drogs... As long as he is up for it.. Has played uncharacteristically for the last 2 games..
-
Meireles for me... Ran the show if you asked me more than Lamps or Romeu.. Superb vision to release the final pass and was constantly moving off the ball. Torres and Romeu closed 2nd and 3rd... Surprisingly, did not see Luiz making a lot of runs upfield which I thought he would with Genk as our opposition.

I understand why certain supporter's would be against the idea of moving. Maybe if i were born and brought up in London visiting matches on a weekly basis from the Shed End, I may have that affection towards Stamford Bridge as well. But since I have been following the club from afar for more than a good 10 years, I do not maybe realize that special bond towards our current stadium. To me it is high time we moved to a bigger and better stadium. Of course, they would need to take fan's feedback through every part of the new plan. Like Bruce Buck said, we are potentially missing out on 35m+ pounds on our yearly revenue or to put it simply, we are missing out on an Aguero every year. Not sure of the specifics of the CPO plan and what they gain from this deal. But if and when we move, it should be with the blessings of the hardcore home supporter's who spend their hard earned cash on a weekly basis to cheer the team through each and every match...

we definitely need 1 more ball-handler... a la Silva, Mata who can run with the ball and keep possession in tight spaces... such players are at a premium though and only a few exist in lower leagues.. Hazard, Goetze, Marin.. etc.. Also, would love to see a genuine crosser on the right wing.. Krasic would have been good, but hes 27 already.. need to look at some one younger..
-
Ramires should be involved in lot of our attacks. But still can't see who is gonna deliver that quick release of ball from Midfield to Attack. Hope Lamps has a great day on field today !!!! Poor guy has been bashed a lot over the past 2 weeks too harshly by the media. Would love to see him score from one of those trademark late runs into the box...

both those veetle links aint working for me... got any other working links guys ?!?!

How Do you think our youngsters performed against Fullham?
NoFear replied to CHOULO19's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Bertrand: Was solid. Nothing spectacular. There were a couple of times when he eased off from making the forward runs you had expect Ashley to make behind the opposition defense. Should have squared the ball to lukaku instead of shooting at goal. Has a good cross in him. Overall, average but definitely reliable. Lukaku: Showed his physical presence at times by bullying the fulham defenders. Positional awareness was good. Crossing was terrible (i know he is not a winger, but over hit 2 crosses when under absolutely no pressure. Could be fatigue though) Good at running with the ball on counter attacks. Still a lot to improve though. Romeu: Was a good performance from someone so young playing at number 6 position. Exceptional positional awareness bar one time when he sloppily gave it away. A quick feet to turn around a person and gain that 2 yard of space to hit a pass. Did not go for any hollywood passes (although I would have liked to see him try a few) and kept a very simple and tidy game. Nice timing with his tackles except for a couple of them which could have landed him a yellow. Josh: Sad that he had to leave because of the injuries. Had a really good game upto that point linking well with Romeu, Romelu and Danny. Should have got a goal if not for Danny's touch. Overall - Impressive. Danny: Dont think he had his best game last night. Was terrible with his crosses. And couldn't beat the fulham LB when one on one a few times he tried so ended up cutting inside mostly which allowed fulham to double team on him easily. Always went for the shot. Once too often could have found an unmarked man lurking just outside the box but went for the spectacular instead and failed. Too bad he got injured. Hopefully, he brings up his A game against Swansea. -
Yes, he is going to give away the odd penalty. Yes, he will give away silly freekicks. He is definitely not what you would call a solid English CB and will never be. But what he does guarantee you is that with him in the side you are more likely to win than lose a game. His energy, passion and forward forays are something that is absolutely needed in a team these days. That one extra man all of sudden during open play in the final third can make all the difference. I had rather have him in my first team as a CB than as a DM.
-
Luiz for me. Yes, Mata was more influential. But when it looked like we were under pressure around the hour mark, we needed someone to do that little bit extra and Luiz was who stepped up to take that role. One marauding run past 3-4 players, picked the right man in Cole who was free and hit a sweet right foot drive to the bottom corner FT9 would have been proud of. That eased the pressure on us and allowed us to create numerous chances on break from then on which eventually resulted in that 2nd goal.
-
Perfect win-win-win situation. Good for all parties concerned. Would be interesting to see what position Coyle plays Kakuta in. As a no. 10 or a winger or support striker.
-
Meireles going to be our only incoming transfer it seems. Not really what we wanted... Sigh...
-
^^ Very true. I can see only Yossi and Kalou leaving. Malouda is definitely needed as we dont have anybody else for the LW if Mata gets injured. Nico seems to be AVB's super sub in all the 3 games so far. I doubt he will let him leave as well. And with Rajkovic being denied the work permit, it is less likely for Alex to make the exit now. As for ins - Modric is definitely out of reach now. Affellay would be a great bargain. Can't see anybody else.
-
If he aint spectacular,he is solid and quite a consistent performer. But the problem is we have Ramires who is playing superbly in his role for us. So unless AVB plans of using Ramires in the DM role, I cant see where he would fit in our starting 11.
-
Like we saw in the Norwich game, he is given a free role. Pretty much like Silva in Man City. They roam around everywhere - left, right, center, deep - he was everywhere. The pass that released Nico for the 2nd goal from the counter attack was a classic. He almost found Ramires with another brilliant long punt on another counter attack.
-
Whatever he is, I sure like his sense of humour Has taken Mata's lead in mocking Arsenal. Apparently from his twitter: Source
-
Pereirra is a LWB and I don't think AVB will ever use him in LW role. I have never seen him play there for Porto in their 4-3-3 even when their regular LW player was out.
-
I say, Give him + Yossi + Kakuta (2 yr loan) to Lille for Eden in exchange !!
-
We need a good right winger actually. Flo-Mo can still be utilized on the LW for a yr atleast. Its the crossing from right flank which is non-existent in our side (apart from Boss). Also, like some one had mentioned above, the off-ball movement from Lamps and Ramires is ZERO. Make yourselves fkin available for a pass !!! Mata showed that incredibly in his 20 min cameo. He is on the move as soon as he makes a pass. Never still !!! If we can get Modric and get Ulises / Mata to keep interchanging in the AM and RW roles, it would make our team much better. -----FT----- FloMo--Mata--Ulises ---Luka-Rami---
