Why is everyone so disappointed with the starting line-up ?!? I actually am happy to see both Torres n Drogs starting against one of the weaker sides... If they both score, it can only be good for their confidence...

If not a starter, he would still be an effective option to use from the bench in 0-0 situations against tight defenses. Must keep him for a yr more at the least.

No idea why we need him atm. He definitely isnt gonna replace AC at LB and neither is he technically so good as to play on LW. If he is bought to be a squad player, why pay so much ?!?! Get a true winger I say.. cough... hazard.. cough..

It is actually good we dint sign Nasri. Has never been consistent enough to impress me. Good player, may develop as he is still young. But definitely not World Class as some people say he is right now !!

I do not see the logic in chasing Alvaro. He definitely is not gonna replace Ashley on LB. He doesn't have enough creativity to play on LW as well. A good squad player at best only if we can sign him for less than 15m which I'm sure Porto president is never gonna accept. I had rather pay the release clause of 25m towards Hazard and throw in Anelka if they want

Totally agree with the Original post. A long overdue transition is finally being put in place. All AVB needs is time and hope Roman gives that. As long as we see improvement in our playing style and performances, I'm sure Roman will not wield axe even if we end the season trophy-less. There is only one thing bothering me now. BBC reporting Arsenal closing in on Hazard A player I so badly wanted to see become a blue !! Oh well, I guess we cannot have them all...

^^ I second that. I would rather see Hazard than Mata. We so desperately need someone who an beat 2-3 ppl with their dribbling. Mata doesn't do that. Im not saying he is bad, but Hazard defeinitely over Mata anyday.

A much improved first half performance compared to our other games... Though not many goals to talk about, we could see that the off-ball movement in the final third has been better.. also there is a clear emphasis on winning the ball back early, although it has led to us conceding a lot of silly freekicks in the opposition half..

The only positive I see is that AVB has brpught some 'Luck' factor. We were poor (not as much as some make it out to be) but still got the wins through 2 own goals !!! If he can bring this same luck to our CL quest, I had be more than happy

I do not believe we need an overhaul as well... It would be great if we can get in 3 to 4 new players... But i do not see more than 2 max. if we are going for high end players... But if those 2 are pastore and alexis, I had be more than happy

@BlueLion - Sturridge is wasted as a winger.. We all saw Carlo trying that in a few games and he looked completely clueless there.. He is a 2nd striker and if we plan to use him, it should be as a striker.

I would prefer a 4-3-3 over diamond as well... Diamond is too functional and not a very fluid system.. whereas playing with 2 wingers is exciting But the problem is we do not have any proper winger... Lets just hope we get some class wingers in before the transfer window closes...

I have not seen Mikel dribble. he has a good pass though, but rarely uses it !!!! Ramires can beat people with his pace not exactly dribble out of trouble (except for that goal against Man city). He is a box-to-box midfielder. Yes, Josh can dribble but would need more time and experience before we can entrust him to do for it on a daily basis.
