  1. Yeah that was a weird one. At the time it was the old ''mutual consent'' bollocks that they always say to the press. I remember Vialiis agent saying it was because he'd lost the dressing room confidence etc. Vialli was the son of an Italian multi billionaire - and what I've noticed about Bates over the years he doesnt discriminate with his bile -in fact he reserves a lot of it for people richer than himself. As soon as he'd made £17m profit from Abramovich -he called him a Russian shyster etc, I think he probably wanted to just show his power by sacking Vialli. Probably not all of it, but part of the reason...just that he has a high cuntage percentage. On that, there was a brilliant alternative publication in the 80s called the Chelsea Independent -written by the fans. This si pre internet days, and it was 20p or something. It was fucking good read, written by the fans. Bates didnt like it -(probably because he wasnt making any money out of it) and in the Chelsea Programme he called them ''bloody parasites''. Fairplay to the Chelsea Independent, they sued him and won, and he settled out of court
  2. Its fairly obvious he favours his own countrymen -to be fair Boswinga produced a couple of good crosses recently. No honestly , he has. There was an exorcism at Cobham to get rid of the Gronkaer demon, which by all accounts he was possessed by, and it was successful.
  3. Dont think he is tbh. He is the consumate professional, something lacking in a lot of players and can cope with being subbed or missing a couple of games easily. However, the way Ramires has started the season, Frank will need to be on top of his game. He is the most likely successor to Frank's type of player, he's developing into a top class box to box player. I feel the media have some kind of agenda with Frank anyway, just jumping on the back of the anti-Chelsea/Frank/JT England mong fans. Of course he's coming to the twilight of his career - he's 33!! I don't remember this type of character assasination when Giggs/Scholes were being 'rested' for games. When Fergie does it he's a man management specialist that gets the best out of his players and preserves them. When AVB does it - Frank's over the hill/finished etc...... He was rested at home to Swansea before a testing CL away game to Valencia ffs! Does the media really think that we need Frank to beat Swansea at home?
  4. 40 years ago -Chelsea Biggest Win http://www.chelseafc...2465594,00.html Was there on the 'benches' We went out next round btw
  5. Abramovich found Bates Apart from buying it for £1 -which to be fair a more genial benefactor would have served the club better -as far as I know he did precisely fuck all but upset all around him. He was sued on a weekly basis.
  6. idea for a new weekly winner, as their always seems to be a few. This week two have sprung to mind -Twitchy 'Arry for calling Tevez a disgrace, but when Modric refused to play it was ''becasue his head wasnt right'' When JT was all over the front pages for sticking his knob everywhere, Capello took him to one side , and withdrew the England captaincy. There would have been a subsequent Capello/Fercinand conversation when Capello would have seeked an assurance that he had no skeletons in the cupborad. No, all was fine, the tabloids proudly pronounced him as a ''Family man''. This week when his injunction was lifted that had kept the lid on, it turns out he has been having an affair behind his wifes back for 13 years So......the winner this week has to be... Rio ''Plug from the Bash Steet Kids'' Ferdinand.
  7. Quite few candidates that peolpe have mentioned -I actually think Malouda was very good as well. ....has to be Cech overall though, performed brilliantly
  8. Chelsea FC synonymous with white socks, always has been. We should also revert to the real Chelsea blue, royal blue.
  9. Lol like something from Wenger Productions. We definitely dont need any proof that the meeja are nearly all biased towards the red shite, be it Liverpool or Man U. Constant digs at Torres and Lampard -ok Tevez is worth a punt, but they seem to be going overboard with that as well. They never had a go at the Granny Shagger when he refused to play. Also, (I'm on a roll now) Twitchy Rednapp gets this weeks Hypocrite of the Week Award. Saying Tevez is a disgrace, yet when modric refused to play it was ''Ahh his head isnt in the right place'' Well yours isnt 'Arry, its up your arse
  10. Murdoch shit. Must be bored now theyre not bribing cops and hacking Milly Dowlers phone...
  11. Been pretty pony so far to be honest, but the meeja would have hime dead and buried He needs to be used in the same way SAF has used Giggs and Scholes. I don't think being subbed or being an unused sub has done him any harm whatsoever. Quite the reverse MOM ? possibly -Cech was outstanding as well
  12. Forgot about that one ! Ramires -incredible pace and fitness -hope a worrying trend could set in of him being hacked/injured though
  13. Yup like I said, finishing left a lot to be desired -then again thats been a flaw with Chels since 1972...
  14. Good analysis A. There is a work in progress going on with this new attacking style, and its not the finished article yet. The finishing left a lot to be desired last night, Ramires, Torres, Anelka at the end - but then again their goalie was something else !!
  15. Yes but think he retracted on that , as he realised that would be a cuntish action too far. He immediately removed the Pensioner logo from the programme though. Although he helped out our friend Brimstone here, (the cynic in me is gnawing away saying it was a PR stunt), the evidence is stacking up against Captain birdseye. Saving the club he felt he could act with complete impunity in making as much cash for himself....and if that meant walking all over people who had created the club -Osgood, Hudson,Harding, the fans he couldnt care less.
  16. Hes an impact sub, cant deny that ! Changes games single handedly. (Why couldnt he do a Tevez and refused to come on !)
  17. Really quite optimistic about that 90 mins. but for a few defensive errors. Opposition set pieces are a worry, but our corners looked more practiced. Just a word on Fatfrank -the media trying to write him off, what an utter composite professional last night, and he will still get vital goals in the months to come...
  18. OK topic reopened. Start the gushing praise of Mr Kalou Magoo........
  19. Good idea Aroop -I think ShOnx has said his bit, and apology has been accepted
  20. The point is, this Kalou debate has gone on for a few seasons now -the board and manager(s) obviously recognise valuable traits in the vacant eyed one, and unless that changes in January, get used to him coming on and strutting his genius/madness.
  21. And therein lies the rub. Super sub on one hand -yes he made 3 or 4 glaring errors as well as the handball when he came on, yet almost scored within seconds as well. I'm sure he is taking responsibilty for the handball, and getting ridiculed by team mates as we type -good naturedly, not in the firebrand pitchfork mentality that the fans have. You say you and others think someone younger who can fit into the free flowing football should be brought in -well the board and AVB as far as we know are still happy with him -so back to my original point -they should take some of the responsibilty then. Still its not all doom and gloom -top of the group and flying .....
  22. Kalou is the scapegoat all the time. I'm sure the CFC squad dont think like that, its a team game after all. You cant have a Lord of the Flies mentality in the dressing room If its so widely acknowledged that Kalou is a pile of pants then AVB should take some responsibilty
  23. Big Ron lost his job for saying the same about Marcel Desailly...
  24. Yes I'm sure that Frank Lampard, Petr Cech and all the playing staff think the same. Very constructive. Oh and by the way who in their wisdom decided to bring Kalou on ? -Vilas Boas
  25. When I met the late great Peter Osgood he had nothing but contempt for Bates, absolutely despised him. - he'd sacked Osgood as a meet and greet persona at the Bridge, (even though he was only on couple of hundred pounds a week) and had totally ignored Alan Hudson after he was hit by a car
