Yeah that makes perfect sense Johnny. Gattuso ! the beast. We have that midfield mix of technical and physical now with Cesc and Kante. Back to that 2004 team the defence was paramount in the success Cech, Ferreira, JT, Carvalho and Gallas -the midfield -as you say a mix of physical and technical in terms of fat Frank, Maka, Essien and the underated Tiago. The wings run by speedy Duff and brilliant but legs made of ice Robben. cutting inside to allow the fullbacks to overlap. and up front Gudjohnsen and deadly Drogba. I don't think I was ever more in awe of my team apart from the 1970 lineup. Mind you they aint bad now

That first leg Ranieri did some crazy things eg replaced Melchiot with Hasselbaink at full back . And then what a disciplined transformation the following season. It makes you think Jose has lost his way somewhat now. (aside from beating us last Sunday )
-
It was typical Chels, missing chances left and right, Jimmy H and Joe Cole spring to mind. But yeah Jose was top of the shopping list that year

Wanted Dortmund to win. Can't stand the tax avoiding entitled 'Principality'. (Mainly for when they knocked us out in 2004 )

20 year club players are rarer than rocking horse shit - Can't blame him -he's won everything with this club. Leader , Legend and soooo much good stuff off the pitch that goes unsung by the biased media
-
I don't think he's leaving in the Summer He's already gone by the looks of things

Theres a complete lack of quality comedy about at the moment - thank God there's Arse Fan TV later....

In a bad way by the looks, hope he carries on a bit longer

Spot on. Was thinking, during the Palarse debacle, Lampard was the player that we needed, he'd run into space and score those crucial goals when required. one of that rare breed who had a sixth sense as to where the ball would appear.
-
Fact is we've rode our luck, and its been enough so far. We've had worse defensive frailties over the years, but has tended to be cancelled out by crucial goals by a certain 20 goal a season midfielder.

Just read the post about your missus. Best of luck and be strong for her, sounds like you've got some good trips planned. Lost a couple of friends the same way, but they and their relatives all said McMillan were really supportive.

Well football is like that, bit of a rollercoaster - swings and roundabouts, but it's all supposed to level out.
-
How refreshing his post match interviews are, humble, intelligent and accurate
-
Not that concerned right now, as we're better than all the rest Well done Chelsea, just Well done !

Jim Holden in the Sunday Express.... ''Chelsea's next match is away to Manchester City on Wednesday. Another defeat.....'' I don't know how some of them become Journalists, it must be like ''collect three tokens from cereal boxes and you can write for our paper''.

Its not just him theres other players contributing as well. Don't worry we are over 2015-16 - it was obvious a lot of players were underperforming last season for various reasons. Its why theres no European football this season.

Well the board will do what they want and keep it secret anyway, but if he downs tools again, then he can fuck off. We should be like Everton and just say no to teams now and then.
