  1. Well, I don't know about that actually. Suppose he gets an infiltration and he plays - making the injury he has had for while now even worse. Then he is out for a longer period, loses his rythm and we are screwed as well. If he plays and gets no injury - his injury might still linger and pop up with Chelsea. Anyway: we play our direct competitor Croatia on the 11th of Octber and Wales on the 15 th of October. Then it is money time for Belgium. So all in all ... if he has the slightest injury ... Belgium would be unwise to put him on, I think.
  2. Interesting and I kinda agree on that. It seems our overall level combined with the quantity is a bit much. It is good now we have two injuries ... but for all we know we could have an injury free year. On the other hand , it is is WC year, which means matches with something at stake, EPL, CL, ... I just don't know anymore. I hope José has his man management skills honed for this :-)
  3. Nah man ... he shuld NOT be playing. This injury has been there for too long. Rest is key! KDB can play :-)
  4. Actually this is more true than you realize. When I consult companies - I always point them to the data that suggests having a employee of the month kind of thing is actually detrimental for motivation in the long run and generates a LOT of perverse group effects. Creating these kind of things (intergroup competition by means of titles, prizes, motm things ) installs what is known in psychology as a 'toxic environment'. It makes people do just that that will make them win it, derogate others so they will not win it, go from opinions to facts to boost their relative status in the group and get aggressive when called upon to deter other ( called the anger calibration theory btw), etc, etc. Quite interesting really to see that what happens in big companies (which they fail to realize most of the times), happens on an online footie forum as well. To bring up philosophy anyway, Dear Chou Chou: Nietsche said this kind of stuff is Menschliches, Allzumenschliches
  5. True ... but ow so hard to distinguish in the spur of the moment
  6. Add Hazard to the list. Also the NT games are still to be played - xtra injuries can still come up. So, I for one am glad with the depth.
  7. He looks pissed at not being fit Lol .... He was apparently: they called him the 'thundercloud' in the media ... He will not play, so let's hope this injury - which he apparently has got or a few weeks now and which has gotten much worse in th Supercup game - doesn't turn into a long term thing.
  8. If Oscar and Hazard are injured we still have a beast team : Willian-Mata-Schurrle Although Mata is a starter anyways. And KDB
  9. Scored against Italy in the under 21 nt game after being 1-0 down. After Hazards equalizer the team wenton and won 1-3. Keep performing! The future looks blue :-)
  10. Well Kojo .... I kinda feel adressed here without taking any offense whatsoever. The pub is what it is ... The pub. Sometimes people like the variety of what happens there when the regular threads are nothing more than boring repetitive nit picking contests. I think that is what happened when I last won it after last season when really nothing happened football wise. The first time I won it in January I hadn't even posted on gif or meme. So that was purely on content. I actually think posting memes 'n stuff in the pub and joining in on the fun over there, damages your rep more than it helps you. You say it yourself: the image you get is that of the funny guy that doesn't contribute to the football debate. Which is something I actually do - among other discussions that are interesting(i remember the depression discussion among others). So that makes you the funniest member of the year perhaps, but all the 'deeper' discussions are quickly forgotten by the community. Just ask @rmpr who first joined in the fun, but quickly realised people stereotype you as the funny but maybe 'football wise' guy. So I think your argument is too unnuanced actually. It also misses what people in every contest (even politicians) know: it is about pure exposure! Being too serious or sceptical (Henrique) or 'giffie' does damage perception wise. Think about the exposure WHS got with his prediction, the following winning of the motm and the reactions afterwards. Thats why I think you get mostly the 'midfield' posters that post a 'lot'!! That get nominated. Just think about Barbara being nominated since she has been here. Without judgement on her posting: this also has nothing to do with quality, but all with quantity. There are a few that post a lot AND have major quality: eg. Skipper: that why he is in it every time. Peace or TOPTB post great but not frequent enough to get the critical amount of exposure. So I do think there much more going on than just voting for the popular guy or girl. My two cents.
  11. Left the training an hour ago ... Probably will not play tomorrow.
  12. Yes you can (but vote for your competition and then switch just before the poll closes - )
  13. In the Belgian papers this morning he just said he never played with an injection before and isn't planning on it: he will only play if he feels 100% because there are still so many games, with Chelsea and with the NT. for no, he said it is looking good for him. So no panic , guys :-) http://www.hln.be/hln/nl/16076/De-Rode-Duivels/article/detail/1698907/2013/09/05/Hazard-Als-ik-niet-100-procent-fit-ben-speel-ik-niet.dhtml
  14. Aaah barbarica ... John Keats in one of the worlds best. He wrote: I am sickened at the brute world which you are smiling with. I hate men, and women more! I am sure you could relate whenever you started reading more than footy articles
