pHaRaOn reacted to Magic Lamps in 🏴 Frank Lampard
I think it is the Leicester game. A loss today and a win vs Fulham are expected no matter our form. But Leicester is the kind of game we have been struggling with all season. Teams that are good but slightly worse than us and which we should beat in an open game. There we have underachieved massively. If we beat Leicester convincingly It might be a sign of improvement. If we still look clueless, the board may decide to part ways.

Correct. Cech has saved only 2 penalties in his first 5 years at Chelsea. And how many PK shootouts he won for us before Munich? There may be some but I don't remember any.

Embarrassing. Seriously embarrassing.
Criticism of aspects of Lampard's management at present is all fine and well but it shouldn't be forgotten right now that he is one of the greatest players the club has ever had and anything during this period should never tarnish or warrant disrespect for that.
A player that spent 13 years at the club, was a major component in winning a bucket load of trophies and broke all sorts of club and premier league records here. Wasn't given a new contract by Chelsea but is a Man City mercenary?!
It's everything that's wrong with the current football fan, and infuriates me because it really makes our club look like a joke when comments like this are chucked around.

JFC! If ever there is an overreaction, it's this to Mendy. He has ticked all the boxes that a goalkeeper should be doing ever since he came in and he is the least of our worries right now. Plus, he also has 6 Premier League clean sheets this season; only 3 keepers have more than him.

He can't do anything at that range, especially considering the fact that he is tall. Small keepers like Kepa, Oblak or ter stegen maybe could close their legs a little bit faster because they are smaller, but big keepers have no chance at this range. I would say that also Oblak does not save that goal. But I remember here there was a time that snake got slaughtered every week, even though he was a world class GK. He also conceded goals that went through his legs, but can't do better because he is just taller. Wider GK stance and depending what type of fall he wants to do to save goals, it couls take very long. Kepa for instance saved a penalty from Hinteregger because he could close his smaller legs pretty fast (small compared to snake or Mendy).
That goal saves no keeper. Too close. AC was missing

And they contributed to more than half of these goals. 6 goals & 1 assist for Tammy and 4 goals & 2 assists for Timo.

I remember how Terry used to pick out runners like Cole with that sweet long pass from his 'weaker' left foot.
Lot of people forget Terry started out as a midfielder.

To be honest, I think our defense was good yesterday apart from that huge mistake AC did. The first goal was not Kepa's fault and how should that really affect his confidence. Nobody cares if Kepa concedes goals when there is nothing he could do to prevent it. The Kepa topic is only that big because he does not save the basic shots. He looked better under Sarri, but I think during summer his GF broke up with him and I think Cech or Lampard said that he his also personal issues to deal with, so that does not help either.
Usually, good keepers shine in phases, in which defenders play bad. I have seen it many times. DDG at United carried the whole squad when Phil Jones and Smalling were their defenders. Martinez and Leno last season saved Arsenal many times because Mustafi and Luiz are bad defenders. Cech saved us many times when we had Luiz and Cahill partnership 2012. Really good keepers show how good they are in those moments.
Right now, I think Mendy solves almost all problems. He can catch balls, he is a presence in the box and can save the basic shots due to his size. I do not think he can make those world class saves like Martinez did last season for instance against the shot from TAA against Pool, but I do not care anymore. A guy that is solid makes me happy at this stage. I am really hyped on Mendy now lol.

I actually think it was tactically spot on. Everyone expected us to come out all guns blazing and run out of steam early but we sat deep and waited for the counter attack opps. Individualy it was a very poor performance. the passing from all midfielders was terrible. werner would have needed just a coupleof great passes straight through the middle and he would have socred a hatful. we had brightons number just couldnt finish them off. RJ and Alonso made individual mistakes to allow brighton chances but they have never been very good defenders. AC and Zouma were very collected and solid tho, sussed out tons of dangerous attacks.

pHaRaOn reacted to BlueLyon in 🇪🇸 Kepa Arrizabalaga
He is the biggest issue we have in this team. If we go with him next season, it will be one long season because I dont think it will work having great attack only for defense to ruin it. At one point the team will implode because after such spending, those at the top wont tolerate a progress like Liverpool. We will need a strong season and I dont think Kepa can provide that.
Dont even need Oblak or anything; Onana, Lopes, Gulacsi would easily work. They are reliable and dependable at the back which will add much needed stability.

First half of the season everyone was creaming their pants over chillwell.
Second half of the season Lecister drop in form and now he is the worst there is.
Over the top.
Chilwell is a great buy, worth the price for a young top English players who can be with us for nearly a decade!

pHaRaOn reacted to Jase in 🇧🇪 Eden Hazard
On hindsight, am glad that we sold Hazard last summer and got the money that we did because let's face it, he probably only has 2-3 years left at the top level and especially when you consider he doesn't seem to take good care of his physical condition.
Plus had Hazard stayed, we probably wouldn't have seen the emergence of Pulisic. If he can stay fit or stay fit more often than not, then we would almost have a like-for-like replacement and someone a lot younger too.

What exactly gave you a positive vibe at the end of last season?
We won only 3 of the last 9 games of the season (1 of 5 in the Premier League), we failed to score in 10 out of 35 games in 2019, we lost the player on whom the entire attacking system of the team depended, we lost Kante, Loftus-Cheek and Hudson-Odoi with big injuries.
