wooooot shame for the cleansheet but how are you gonna defend that one.
-
dafuq. not a penalty is fair enough, contact was minimal but that was surely no dive. what should he have done, ran straight into tarkowski and hurt himself?
-
whats so awesome is to have 9,10 players on the field who are all good at the ball can pass and run with it. Even in the good old times, we used to have a few midfielders and defenders who would be content with winning it back and delivering it to Lamps to open play but today we are just so unpredictable everyone can make things happen.

damn Reece is so smooth on the ball he look like a bigger right-footed version of Marcelo. What a beast.
-
tomori is so damn quick. and they are not very good at football. here we go. James on for Alonso. no idea why Alonso
-
when even Willian scores, teams know they are in trouble. it is weird some games we keep hitting the corssbar 7 times and some we are so clinical every shot hits the net.
-
perfect hattrick only if that counts as a header lol, it looked like it came off his lower neck or traps haha
-
now that is a perfect hattrick. left right header. beuatiful moment for him

we looked to be struggling vs Burnley weird mix of kick-and-rush and dive-and-thug-ball. But Puli took care of things. what a performance from him. the second goal was damn lucky but we head enough bad luck so far. the first goal however was absolutely brilliantly taken. that pace, directness and determination made it. We have improved with time and look to have our game management on so far. Now we need to take the sting futher out of the game and pass them into submission. Defending with the ball like we did vs newcastle and Southampton. However, we only have Barnes complete incapacity on the ball to thank to not have conceded an equalizer. I knew Burnley were shit on the ball but damn are they shit technicians.

you are obviously right if selling them would have meant sureyl getting a superior replacement. But not selling them was not necessarily a statement of trust in them bu talso a statement of the board's lack of confidence in its own ability to secure these replacements. We have failed to replace big-name sales numerous times in the past. As much as they hate them as players, we are better off with those two right now than we would be without them given no replacement. I wish it was always that easy to kick this player out and sign that one instead. I could well imagine Willian and Alonso insisted on staying when those offers came in.

I want to see the back of all three as well. Zouma maybe can be kept as a bench option to shut down shop in special cases. But we do not need the cash, so we could as well release Willian if it helps things. It is annyoing given what we would have got for them but they have proven kinda useful in this ban situation. And its not like we need their sales for funding other transfers. I do not believe we have ever refrained from digning someone because of lack of funds rather than refusing to be held to ransom Zouma's clumsiness rubbing off on Tomori is a good observation. He will profit much more from playing with Rüdiger. One more reason he should return to training with the team asap.

I expect his form to drop afterwards. I suspected that his absence in the last two breaks meant he had a slight sharpness-advantage over his younger competitors. Let's hope he gets a confidence boost that makes up for that. Cool pic tho
-
I guess we need to do the double digit win ourselves. Need to get a bit more clinical first tho.
-
there it is 9-0 cant believe it
-
0-8 that should be the highest away win in PL history now

He is clearly the best English LB right now. 70m is obviously too steep for a fullback that is not Marcelo/Alaba/prime Sandro or A.Cole quality but I see Leicester demanding that much. He is already a complete leftback at just 22. The question is how we use the academy once the ban is served. If we continue Lamps's approach and even sell declining players like Luiz and make space for promising academy graduates but do not find a suitable LB option, the club can easily afford to go towards mega deals like this and pay whatever necessary to punctually improve the squad. If Chilwell reaches this kind of level, a deal of this magnitude might even make sense. I just hope we stop splashing out for the sake of buying, of the players being English or try to build up our squad with expensive signings. Lamps has done such a great job of rebulding the squad without spending a Penny, if he says I want just two or three players to lift the first team to another level and Chilwell is one of them, then the board should deliver.
-
damn what has become of soton? it used to be a hard palce to go and they suck balls nowadays. complete surrender
-
and that is 4. if they continue like that they will be out of sight in terms of GD. Chilwell with an awesome cross. No wonder we are after him.
-
Dropping Azpi after one of his best ever defensive performances? I doubt it. I would be surprised to see any changes to last week's lineup. Never change a winning team.
-
He will most probably return. But I rather face Barnes than Chris Wood who is in form but probably out with a hamstring problem. Jack Cork, Chelsea academy graduate is fit again. Danny Drinkwater is still out with that club brawl injury and probably would be ineligible to play vs us anyway. They are obviously a very dangerous side esp at the turf moor but we are in better form and they could suit us, as they play aggressive in midfield but do not park the bus too much at home so there will be space. We just need to be prepared for their physical style.
-
Well he has scored from a set piece for Arsenal before. It is the goals out of play that are not coming for him. The second freekick was amazing. perfectly struck. But the first one was average. The goalie completely misjudged that. Any decent keeper should save that one.
-
Jack Rodwell - fifa07 legend (still one of the best Fifas ever imo) had a 94 rating projection there Amazed he is still around. His career has not blossomed as much as predicted back then. Good move this tho
-
I am also a bit consternated how we get linked with all kinds of midfielders when we have 6 top class midfielders, some of the best midfield talents coming through and, well, Ross Barkley. I agree we should be prioritize a CB and a left-footed winger. My next 2 priorities would be a true dm and a left footed fullback.
-
If he is happy with this role as a super sub, he can stay for years. That role fits him like a glove. All his important goals for us have come as sub
-
He really should. Given the squad we have at the beginning of the season I would have thought that squad is bang average and we would be lucky to finish in the top 6. But Lamps has not only made the players better already. Today was the first game we won as underdogs we won because of superior tactics. Game management, man management, player development, tactics.... what more do you want from a coach? I will be interested how he does when he gets Roman's big cheque book. But so far it is only a small number of issues holding us back. Lamps has already succeeded at things big name managers liek Jose, Carlo, Conte have failed. When we inevitably hit a dry spell, I hope Lamps will be given all the time he needs, his learning curve has been impressive. He is destined for great things as a manager here or elsewhere.
