I agree. These posts trying to downgrade Ajax just to make the point that we suck in big games yet are bizarre. Ajax are clearly a club of great relevance in the history of modern football and one of the top European sides of last season. So based on history and current form they are clearly a big club. Obviously if we focus on 1998 to 2017 they were a bit underwhelming but that would be somewhat artificial. We were much cleverer in that match tho and still conceded more chances than today. Utds are a side that are only good at defending nd suck at creating chances so last thing one should do is gift them easy goals. Once you fall behind it is virtually impossible to overcome their bus
-
Dude, thanks for everything especially all those important goals in 2016/17 but please get the fuck out of the club asap.
-
Thats what I am talking about. Stupid mistakes from players who are not good enough for this club cost us. But it is also a group mentality thing to grind out results in big games in which we are not at our best. Today Utd had 1.5 genuine chances and scored 2 goals. We had tons of chances and missed all of them and scored a fluke.
-
you kidding? most of our best players have been injured for most of the season, our best 3 are still out. Still, we have played with higher quality than most of our top4 rivals. This was one shit game were our remaining shit players and a corrupted ref have cost us. nothing more. get the head out of the sand and get over it. who gives a damn about carabao cup. Future is bright.
-
It remains we are absolute shit vs big teams domestically. NOt becuase we do not play well but because of mentality. Committing the stupidest mistakes to let absolute shit teams like utd steal a win from us.When they come here they are never here to play they are here to park the bus, play thugball and hoof the ball in the air. So the only thing you should not do is committing stupid mistakes and give them dangerous set pieces which is exactly what those turds Alonso and Pedro did. I mean you have to be clever, composed, experienced. But how if you most experienced players are tactically behaving like toddlers. I cant belive the sheer stupidity of fouling their useless players who can not do shit with a moving ball. jsut let them run and hoof it into the stands no fucking need to foul them. Oh well at least it is just the 2nd round so we can concentrate on other competitions.
-
Zouma and guehi have been decent despite being a disaster to happen on paper esp together with caballero and alonso. Emerson not fit yet i guess. We denied them any chanced they just scored from their gifted set pieces.
-
Alonso and pedro are the poorest players in a team full of rookies. Get shot.
-
So because both teams are shit the game does not deserve a proper ref?
-
Obviously mctominay gets away with murder
-
Pedro commits the foul and then does not Jump in the wall what an absolute shadow this guy has become
-
ManUre are a team who are incapable of scoring from open play so we give away stupid pens and freekicks.
-
Yup only country were a game vs ManUre is commentated and officiated by ManUre fans.
-
Bats stumbled clear on goal. Classic
-
Gilmour has to gain some brawn. His tackles are softer than air.
-
Refs have fucked us all game starting with the softest pen ever
-
They are switching to 442 i guess. I think we should be able to gain control of the midfield when we take off that clown gilmour
-
We eventually will but our corners are consistently shit and we hit the bar a couple of times still.
-
Jamed and Gilmour have been absolute pants
-
Alonso is so out of his depth. Flattered by a run of decent games but still a shit player Great goal by bats amazing strike
-
As soon as we are behind we start wastinh our chances its probably a mentality thing. Utd on the other hand can only go in front with penalties or stupid errors from opponents. They are so damn poor on the ball
-
You are somewhat right. If we would just throw enough money at it, we probably could eventually land a player like Mbappe the City/psg way. We would need a richer owner first tho. (we gave the cash already but the deal would never be sanctioned by Roman) ..but do we really still wanna be a buy-it-all club? Chelsea is not a retort club like those two but one with massive tradition. The path of growing from within we have recently chosen is the right one IMO. Mega deals unhinge the wage structure and foster egos.i think you hit the nail on the head with expanding the brand tho. We are the best club in the global capital, the most influential city in the world (London is top of all corresponding rankings like the global city ranking, GaWC, the city power index etc). We should leverage that way more. It is kinda hard because there are so many clubs from here but if owner/board were as visionary and ambitios as you then we would be much further.
-
Yup but Deschamps has no interest in burning Kante for meaningless games. Also why should he call up a player who has not features in weeks and is thus not match fit? Would be really stupid but then again it is Deschamps
-
they have received twice as many penalties as the next team. Yet they have only scored 2 of 6. How pathetic is that? I guess it is becasue ManU are the most popular club in China and US, the mos timportant foreign markets they get all possible support from FA. Still, it won't help them, I can see them finising outside the top 6.
-
I hope Lamps lets both of them sit out the next international break starting Nov 9 as well. Otherwise they will probably come back with aggravated injuries.

I think a main difference is that OGS was just an ok player for ManUre whilst Lampard was absolute world class and is our greatest ever player and thus commands way more resepct within the club including the squad so he will definitely be given more time. Also Lamps has managed to transform the squad such that we now are very balanced with a lot of young players buying into Lampards ideas, and who can still be moulded whilst ManU have a very heterogenous group consisting of the remnants of various untuned shopping sprees of toxic egos, followers, a few fairly decent players and a few middling talents. That being said they are still more experienced than us in key positions so it will be a close call tomorrow and it is not guaranteed to stay this way if we become complacent. In the end however the main reason for ManUre's demise is unrelated to OGS but rather the consequence of Utd being run to generate shareholder value rather than win trophies. Especially their IPO has been the final nail in their coffin.
