  1. Yet a blind man could see his undeniable quality. He showed it at Genk, he showed it At Bremen. He was the best midfielder in Bundesliga even back then. This incredible free kick he scored today I had seen him score those for Genk already. He just got more consistent with age which was to be expected. There can be no excuses for Mourinho.
  2. The goal was absolutely unreal. The pure audacity of scooping the ball from their defence with a 30 yards sprint, then standing Mendy up and completely burning him for pace finishing off with such an inch perfect shot...i went absolutely mental when that went in. What a player
  3. Not till we put them in their place by winning the PL ourselves next year.
  4. Real mature, coming of age performance. Showed we can look defensively solid even against the best side in the world. Limited them to a handful of chances and denied them a goal from open play. Could not be more happy with the performance. I think we dominated the match despite City having had control of the midfield without threatening for the most part. We took them game when we wante dto and allowed them posession where the could not make it count. That is the mark of class teams. Our finishing obviuosly let usdown a bit should have killed off the game way earlier but missed 3 or 4 golden opporunities but overall we looked the better side and deservedly win. When a Guardiola side needs to handball on the goalline to stop you, you know you are doing it right.
  5. I always missed the accounting lectures so how does this help them to balance their books? It might increase both clubs turnover but net in or outflow are still just 10m which is probably the same sum they would have had in case of a Normal swap. So how does this help with ffp?
  6. Pool will face City directly in their next game, which would be a title decider if we fail to get sth out of this game today for them. So I guess we can bet our asses on the referee fucking us once more as the corrupted media will certainley want a showdown so they will ensure it
  7. Never heard of that but sounds like a good idea I have been mad with FIFA stats my whole life lol. still I would say Werner acceleration > Torres acceleration maybe not by much and Werner end speed = Torres end speed i just pray that Timo stays healthy and you guys can appreciate the beauty of his relentless sprints through opposition defenses.
  8. We should focus on ourselves and ensure CL qualification. It not even a question. If we win vs City we can be proud of ourselves and Should celebrate. Liverpool are champions anyway so if we hand them the title be it. All others teams have been too inconsistent to mount a challenge so we have to admit they somewhat deserve it. Despite hugely being favored by ref decisions etc it does not exactly plain that 20points+ gap alone. We have to accept that it was their year. our focus should be the game today. It could be season defining. Win this and we are favorites to lock down 4th it even 3rd place. I just hope the lads are up for it.
  9. If we are serious about this pandemic thing then there should be no audiences in stadiums till there is mass immunization by vaccination or infection. It is not even necessary to have audiences at all IMO. Maybe we should wait for how this situation develops before considering new stadium plans
  10. Most of their opponents are already on the beach at the time they face them starting with de facto already relegated Norwich. we need to avoid defeat tomorrow and vs Liverpool at all costs and win all remaining games.
  11. Wolves have looked decent ever since their bad start. I expect them and Utd to fight it out for 5th if we do our job
  12. FIFA/PES Stats are hardly empirical evidence though and sometimes completely made up. They rated Bale like 20 points slower than Maicon just weeks before he tore him a new one in that legendary Hattrick performance in 2010. Just one of many absolutely bonkers examples
  13. I don’t doubt that we and Real made bids. I just think he prefers Real and B04 will wait if Real make a bid that is high enough.
  14. Never heard of it. I am pretty sure the numbers are pure guesstimating.
  15. Absolutely loving this. Handing big money contracts to wash-up has been, average and injured players. No idea what their reasoning behind is but maybe they are interested in signing Moses, Nathan, Bats, Bakayoko etc while they are in the flow😂 the next step on this path to greatness can only be to bring Matthieu Flamini out of retirement😂
  16. Yup. Their draw va Utd really looks a much better result now. With so many teams so close behind us it’s a wide open race
  17. I am much more confident wrt our top 4 hopes now tbh. But we should resist to keep Willian more than a year, whether that is by only offering one year or selling after one. But he should be a bench option. As I expect Havertz to opt against us, Pulisic and Ziyech should be our wingers.
  18. https://www.quora.com/Who-are-the-fastest-footballers-in-the-world-in-terms-of-sprint-speed this quora Page cited an article of gimme sports which has Torres at 35,2 km/h Which is a tiny fraction slower than teenage Timo Werner at Stuttgart https://www.fussball-spielplan.de/welcher-bundesliga-profi-rennt-am-schnellsten/
  19. I have to side with you on this one. In those 15 months at Liverpool Torres was probably one of the top 3 strikers in the world but he was average the rest of his career. His stats show that. Agüero was at the same level As those 15months prime Torres for like 7 years for comparison. Torre scored some absolutely outrageous goals in his career tho which give some credit to the hypothesis that he was technically very gifted. Then again many players scored outrageous goals many of those players will never be remembered. I remain that Torres was basically a 2 season wonder and lived off this hype for the rest of his career.
  20. I am pretty sure stats show that Werner is way faster than prime Torres.
  21. Upamecano and Zouma are basically the exact same player only that Upmecano has more match rhythm from playing regularly and is a few years younger. not much of an upgrade tho. I thought we could rather use a disciplined, tactically very astute CB in the Romagnoli module
  22. I still think it is, there are 4 villa players nearer to our goal than any of our outfielders and every one of our players start moving with a step of delay.
  23. I rewatched the goal conceded a few times and i noticed that it was probably a fucked up offside trap (actually rüdiger fucked up the trap), which is why the players were so far away from the villa guys and stopped moving altogether because they were somewhat disjointed. clearly not well enough re-hearsed but also looked like a chain of individual errors not to close down the rebound, everybody was simply ball watching. I dont think we will concede such a stupid goal again with so many errors but it really does not bode well for our set piece routines. Also for that late chance were Kortney Hause has almost a free header, there was simply no one picking him up. Some of our players were simply marking no one, including both Rüdiger and AC. We were lucky cos Giroud somehow managed to grip both their CB's shirts (which would have been a penalty in bundesliga) so Hause blasted the header over. So, even rusty individual errors aside there are still lots of positioning and communication problems when defending set pieces: i would really like us to hire a specialist defensive coach for this. It really should not be a big deal but our current coaching team has not managed to iron it out somaybe someone else should take care of it as it is something you can train on an isolated basis.
  24. I noticed that too. That was absolutely painful. Otherwise, Kante is actually a highly intelligent player in his off-the ball movement. Lets hope he was just a bit rusty. But these kind of mistakes are exactly what coaches are there to spot and iron out.
  25. He is similar to Torres in the sense that he needs to feel the trust of the people around him, has to be pampered a little. Probably not to the same extent as Torres but as many great players Timo is a sensitive guy. Anyway you should not compare him to post injury torres. Timo has way more pace than even pre-injury Torres. Still if he gets injured and loses that pace he is basically ueseless so we better hope he stays healthy his whole career which so far he has managed.
