  1. Chilwell is technically fine. Skill also means moving the ball precisely at high Pace which Alonso is incapable of.
  2. I call BS on this one. Why would Lamps and Petr travel to Germany when they want Aubameyang instead and afterwards complain they got the exact player they pitched to. Also Auba would be cheap. We could still sign as emergency option if Tammy leaves over the contract quarrels
  3. Not even Alonso himself can doubt that Chilwell is the superior player. Quicker, more intelligent while being in the same decent technical level. Alonso is more of an offensive threat but we know at what cost he will come. IMO it is a matter of price. For everything above 40m I would say we should look elsewhere. I would prefer Telles or Theo Hernandez obviously but rather roll with our current lbs than with our current cbs. It’s a shame that while we have tons of mids there is no one coming from the academy who could nail the lb place cos this position has been there for the taking for years now.
  4. Great news. I just don’t see how with the plethora of AMs at the club he will have a pathway unless we sell someone
  5. That’s really poor from him. He can not join Roma till September so he could as well se ethe season out with us. If it’s true I guess we will see Mount and Barkley as wingers again -.-
  6. I don’t see it like that. I saw Tagliafico struggling badly in the world cup and also by us he was one of their weaker players. I think Chilwell is better and has the higher ceiling even if financially this is a good deal for Leicester. Still, I think the relationship between Leicester and is is good. We got Kante for pennies and then overpaid for Drinkwatwr. I guess there were Some kind of inside deals behind that which helped then balance their books. ManU is who they really screwed for Maguire.
  7. It does not say if it is on July 1 or after the season finishes tho
  8. Gabriel is an intelligent defender with great timing and passing but he might be a bit slow. Surely no Cahill who was more of a last ditch slide tackle kind of guy whilst Gabriel always tries a less risky but better timed tackle. Salisu is an incredible athlete and will become a beast but he has 0 experience. He is not gonna come and transform the team. I have had to agree that if we sign a very young cb they will take some time to make an impact. But we have enough young CBs we need one in his prime. For that price he would be a no brainer tho.
  9. It gets even sweeter. Spox are reporting that Werner in fact is just 50m Euros so like 44.8m pounds. An absolute steal especially for how livid Bayern and Pool fans (,the two IMO least likeable fanbases of all) are right now. https://www.spox.com/de/sport/fussball/rundumdenball/news-transfers-bundesliga-premier-league-primera-division-serie-a.html
  10. Tbf some player mature late. I trained with a few guys who later became pros or semi pros two of which still play in Bundesliga and they never really stood out. Rüdiger and Werner indeed are a special Stuttgart connection and i have heard from multiple witnesses how shit they were in training in their teens. Especially Rüdiger,I remember in one of his first game he conceded a penalty and got a red card, exposing his lack footballing intelligence. Yet tons of coaches throughout his career have believed that he can more than compensate this with his athleticism and leadership. It sounds comical but there are numerous example from various sports when setting the team up properly can paper over a single players weaknesses while emphasizing his strengths.Just think Payton Manning who always was (rightly) criticized for not having a strong enough right arm and he still became one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. Same applies to Werner. He is not the greatest talent in the world but he has raw pace, both in acceleration and in end speed. He is a hard worker who loves to press. He is also seldom injured which has accelerated his development. He is a hard worker with a white belt-mentality eager to learn from everyone. Paired with the right players who can play him in he can be an absolute weapon. The question is always do those obvious weaknesses matter and are his strengths so vital that it worth building a team around the player. In the case of Werner, the board, Lamps and the scouts obviuosly all watched atleast as much footage of him as we did and concured that we can use him. So lets at least for the moment respect their professional assessment.
  11. Love it. Every time a player snubs them, every Bayern fan goes out of their way to state they never where interested even for players like KDB. It’s hilarious
  12. Everyone who went to school in Germany has had at least 5 years of English classes so he should have no problems
  13. I doubt we would have had a chance anyway with Sancho and with Havertz there have been 0 reliable links. I am not sure the boy has even made his mind up whether he leaves Bayer or not just yet. I rather expect Bayern will tap him up next year. when will Werner be a ailable to play btw. Is there a rule that players must finish the season First?
  14. 200k a week for Werner is insane. He has to hit the ground running. i still hope we pull the Plug on Chilwell BTW. He might be one of the better LBs in PL but he is no way worth more than Werner. There are tons of equally competent LBs out there we could get for half of that.
  15. Fair enough. I don’t know think that Lautaro is anywhere near world class but I guess we will see how Werner can adapt.
  16. You criticize Werner for being weak anf small (when he is average kn both size and strength) and you list Lautaro who isn’t a midget weakling and not cut for PL as world class. Werner is the way better, more affordable and feasible deal here. also Havertz who is costlier plays a position that does not even exist in our formation right now so really comparing apples and oranges.
  17. Just think of how the meltdown in the Liverpool forums after Werner and Klopp have not kept their mouth shut about this all year 😂
  18. Lamps might not be a worldclass coach just yet but if he pulls this off after he secured Ziyech (and CHO contract which back then was great news) he is already worth his appointment cos he is building the future of this club. Guardiola-like pulling power at a club that has fallen from grace as fast as ours.
  19. Werner is physically More powerful than Havertz. Havertz is the better talent but he is a beanpole Think of Werner as a 24 yo Fernando Torres when he came to Liverpool. Average in everything except pace and shooting which are still the among most important attributes for A striker. It’s. A gamble but if he stays healthy and gets on a streak we can go places with him. Obviusly I would also rather have Havertz but he will cost almost twice as much and is even less suited to playing lone striker such even less addressing our need for one. Out of all the strikers we have been linked with realistically (Edouard, Oshimen, Lautaro, Jovic), Werner is the best choice who fits us best.
  20. Werner might not be perfect but he is better than what we have. I could see him working in a duo but there is a reason he is seldom employed as lone striker. Could be a killer combo with h Giroud tho. If he can handle the he physicality he can be a beast in the prem where pace is just as important as you technique and he is probably one of the fastest strikers in the world. even mildly reliable sources now report it. Good chance of it happening from the looks of it
  21. It just needed 3 matchdays to show why no one missed Bundesliga. It is a snoozefest and there is 0 value in watching it for entertainment. It’s time for the real football to come back.
  22. Point taken. I also don’t like to have too many tiny players but where did you get your stats? Most are off. Kova is 178 or 5‘10 jirgi is 180 5‘11 Tomori is 6‘1 or 185. Rüdiger is 6‘3 or 190, also this is Not American Football but a Game of skill. Jose built a giant team and still got bullied by midrange teams at ManUtd. Getting bullied is more about mentality and skill to shield and play the ball such that even a heavier opponent will not get near it. But if you are tiny you obviously need even more skill or pace to compensate it. Doesn’t mean you should buy big players for the sake of it.
  23. BVB lineup is a little weird. Reyna over Hazard and Snacho... we will see elates to have footy back even if it is just Bundesliga
  24. You don’t utilize your top earner as squad option usually tho. He is either your first starter or need to be sold. The thing is with Corona he won’t fetch the 100m he should, so maybe wait one year but then his time should be up
