The water breaks and the 5 subs really play to Lampards strengths as a great reader of the game and motivator. He really has improved at being more cautious in his approach to games and grind out results. Still his insistence on Barkley and Mount is worrying. Surely he prefers them because of their work ethic and commitment to his tactics. But he must see that they are bang average players and should have squad roles here at best.

I dont think we will win big with our current strikeforce. From the chances created we could have scored 100 goals or more this season. I hope it will change with Werner. Maybe it is the tempo but even good finishers like Batshit turn to j-league players as soon as they get presented by a chance in our setup.

Fernandes hitting form worries me. Before his arrival ManUre couldnt tear down a low blok to save their lives. Now they do so with ease. And they still dont concede. They had probably their best 11 playing today and it looked like they finally clicked. Pogba in a more subdued role makes sense cos he is actually not that good despite his hype and let the superior Fernandes run the show. I really hope they fuck up at least once but can not see it happening at the moment. We on the other hand still struggle to break down buses and are prone to concede. Really need that win tomorrow.

I think they should at least be given a tour of the facilities, introduced to the squad and the staff and get some help finding houses so they can adjust quickly and already feel home when they return from their respective summer breaks.

Alaba has only become cb out of necessity tho and Bundesliga is more tactical and less physical than PL. but the main difference is that Alaba has elite technical abilities (often plays as no. 10 for Austria) which allow him to solve many. Ake is solid with the ball but his strength is his Mobility/ agility allowing him to be the more aggressive cb for the early tackles and blocks. His abilities to play out from the back have not really developed at Bournemouth. Whilst we could somewhat use a defender with either skillset, I don’t see Ake as an upgrade on any of our defenders. Also he is 25 already, and looks a finished article . We should stay true to our new transfer motto and either buy absolute quality or nothing at all.

thats my big worry. he goes down more easily as well. Beautiful, quick and fragile like a falcon. He will be an absolute world class player if he manages to get at least 25-30 games per season despite injury.

Pulisic looks like a skinny version of young Hazard the way he moves.
