  1. I don’t doubt that we and Real made bids. I just think he prefers Real and B04 will wait if Real make a bid that is high enough.
  2. Never heard of it. I am pretty sure the numbers are pure guesstimating.
  3. Absolutely loving this. Handing big money contracts to wash-up has been, average and injured players. No idea what their reasoning behind is but maybe they are interested in signing Moses, Nathan, Bats, Bakayoko etc while they are in the flow😂 the next step on this path to greatness can only be to bring Matthieu Flamini out of retirement😂
  4. Yup. Their draw va Utd really looks a much better result now. With so many teams so close behind us it’s a wide open race
  5. I am much more confident wrt our top 4 hopes now tbh. But we should resist to keep Willian more than a year, whether that is by only offering one year or selling after one. But he should be a bench option. As I expect Havertz to opt against us, Pulisic and Ziyech should be our wingers.
  6. https://www.quora.com/Who-are-the-fastest-footballers-in-the-world-in-terms-of-sprint-speed this quora Page cited an article of gimme sports which has Torres at 35,2 km/h Which is a tiny fraction slower than teenage Timo Werner at Stuttgart https://www.fussball-spielplan.de/welcher-bundesliga-profi-rennt-am-schnellsten/
  7. I have to side with you on this one. In those 15 months at Liverpool Torres was probably one of the top 3 strikers in the world but he was average the rest of his career. His stats show that. Agüero was at the same level As those 15months prime Torres for like 7 years for comparison. Torre scored some absolutely outrageous goals in his career tho which give some credit to the hypothesis that he was technically very gifted. Then again many players scored outrageous goals many of those players will never be remembered. I remain that Torres was basically a 2 season wonder and lived off this hype for the rest of his career.
  8. I am pretty sure stats show that Werner is way faster than prime Torres.
  9. Upamecano and Zouma are basically the exact same player only that Upmecano has more match rhythm from playing regularly and is a few years younger. not much of an upgrade tho. I thought we could rather use a disciplined, tactically very astute CB in the Romagnoli module
  10. I still think it is, there are 4 villa players nearer to our goal than any of our outfielders and every one of our players start moving with a step of delay.
  11. I rewatched the goal conceded a few times and i noticed that it was probably a fucked up offside trap (actually rüdiger fucked up the trap), which is why the players were so far away from the villa guys and stopped moving altogether because they were somewhat disjointed. clearly not well enough re-hearsed but also looked like a chain of individual errors not to close down the rebound, everybody was simply ball watching. I dont think we will concede such a stupid goal again with so many errors but it really does not bode well for our set piece routines. Also for that late chance were Kortney Hause has almost a free header, there was simply no one picking him up. Some of our players were simply marking no one, including both Rüdiger and AC. We were lucky cos Giroud somehow managed to grip both their CB's shirts (which would have been a penalty in bundesliga) so Hause blasted the header over. So, even rusty individual errors aside there are still lots of positioning and communication problems when defending set pieces: i would really like us to hire a specialist defensive coach for this. It really should not be a big deal but our current coaching team has not managed to iron it out somaybe someone else should take care of it as it is something you can train on an isolated basis.
  12. I noticed that too. That was absolutely painful. Otherwise, Kante is actually a highly intelligent player in his off-the ball movement. Lets hope he was just a bit rusty. But these kind of mistakes are exactly what coaches are there to spot and iron out.
  13. He is similar to Torres in the sense that he needs to feel the trust of the people around him, has to be pampered a little. Probably not to the same extent as Torres but as many great players Timo is a sensitive guy. Anyway you should not compare him to post injury torres. Timo has way more pace than even pre-injury Torres. Still if he gets injured and loses that pace he is basically ueseless so we better hope he stays healthy his whole career which so far he has managed.
  14. Sounds legit. A washed-up semi-pro at Reading with no connections to Havertz, Leverkusen or even German football would be the first you call when you have some undisclosed transfer news.
  15. That is a good point and I think it was visible throughout the season that we lacked a bit of a defensive concept. I am sure Lamps is aware of that and will aim to develop himself and the team in that direction but I the players independent of their footballing and physical abilities have to be capable of picking those ideas up. I bet no one said Azpilicueta and Mount to stay away from their markees for the villa goal or AC and Rüdiger to miss balls. Also during the season esp Rüdiger and Zouma have repeated Positional mistakes over and over. At some point you wonder if those players are capable of executing the ideas of the coach. Esp Rüdiger and Zouma are two players who rely heavily on their instincts and athleticism. AC is more methodical but has mental issues and is not a good athlete. Tomori is probably the best prospect very methodical and very fast. His drawback is that he still has concentration problems and he is a bit too small. Leicester I think has a really good defensive. Esp Soyuncu and Evans are tactically very disciplined and don’t make many mistakes. Sheffield and Wolves probably have worse defenders individually but they too are tactically more disciplined than ours and work better as a team. Esp Azpilicueta our captain always defends on his own. Teams don’t really exploit it too much bc Azpilicueta usually wins those tackles. Usually the right sided cb is in line with the rb in case the rb gets beaten. AC however yesterday and Rüdiger in other games often is still in the center covering the striker which leaves space when Azpi gets beaten or there is a loose ball. On the left we usually do it better cos we expect Alonso to get beaten so the left sided bc aligns with Alonso to cover the run past him. Consequently there will be a hole in the middle. For this a midfielder has to step in bc position to cover the space there and another to cover the cut back. Then the striker has to track back to cover late runs of opposition midfielders or cbs. This basic movement pattern is learned very early in football academies in Germany. Yet we have failed to replicate it this season on a reoccurring basis. If some players have not learned by now I wonder if they will ever learn
  16. He is a weapon when healthy. He already would be a world class player if not for his constant injuries. One has to say that he usually comes back fit as the butchers dog from his lay offs. Some players learn quicker than others so he will still have a good career, like Robben who got so accusomted to frequent injuries that he always hit the gorund running when coming back so it never really halted his progress.
  17. Not even sure what is better here for us. If Liverpool win, the title is clinched so maybe City will be a bit lost for motivation. But I guess City derive their motivtion from their joy of play anyway as all guardiola teams do. At least watching Liverpool effectively calms my heartrate which is still raging from our game lol
  18. It is obvious that most of our players were super rusty and it was a big advantage for Vila that they had a game already. Only Mount and Kante looked somewhat fresh. But those misplays from AC and Rüdi were amateurish.
  19. damn that was painful to watch. we got really lucky today. at least we gave Villa some of their own medicine with all that time wasting and breaking their flow unfairly. still some absolutely shocking individual performances.. AC, Christensen, Willian, James, Alonso were absolutely torrid
  20. OMG. i saw that goin in. wtf did Christensen there
  21. there will be like 10mins added on for sure. so we better not waste time like they do. just score another
  22. Tammy's pace to hit them on the counter. Sensible option to have from the bench. But we all know they will gonna score so we need a third
  23. as soon as we go in front we appear to stop playing. it so weird. the moment for your next goal is always right after your last cos the opponent is still rattled.
